One thing that the Smallville creators tended to do was send the message to the hardcore comic fans that this was there version of the characters and they were going to do whatever they felt like doing with them. Regardless of what we all thought about it.
Too be fair, That was not Lionel Luthor who died a good man. That Lionel Luthor's story came to an end. This Earth-2 Lionel didn't walk the same path as Earth-1. Plus he was more or less a fish out of water in our world
I was rather disappointed with the Finale. The Darkseid thing bugged me but for differnet reasons than yours(although I agree with yours), its the fight that lasted 3 seconds. Darkseid is supposed to be powerful, yet one punch took him down. And his minions. What was with Ollie killing them all off with one arrow each? The word wasn't awesome, it was cop out! Plus, Apokolips. Why did pushing it away get rid of the Omega's? They had them before the planet showed up! Cop-out!
Superman vs the Devil...and I thought the Batman vs Dracula was ridiculous...
I wish we got to see Oliver (with a goatee) in the future but he was probably helping out the League. And I'm just glad we got to see Black Canary/ Dinah Lance in Smallville in the firts place.
I simply assumed that the 3 minions would boom tube out of there before they got crushed. What confused me more was how Oliver was able to kill them. I guess they could have just been possessing humans as vessels and they left their hosts when they were shot. My theory on all the people branded with the omega symbols, their souls would be taken by Darkseid after their bodies were destroyed.
@robcheskord yes, but see as evil as Darkseid is, he is not the Devil incarnate. The reason I think it's disrespectful is because it's taking a character from comic books and combining him with a figure/symbol/metaphor that symbolizes evil itself just to say "So this is how powerful Darkseid is." Instead, they could have shown the Omega Beams, or the Parademons, or tons of other Darkseid related stuff and they chose to give him (not literally) horns and a pitchfork.
