  • i want to watch this movie, thanks you give me an idea what to watch

  • dune was a bit duff but it had an amazing look, nice one lynchy..

  • I made a science Fiction Webisode series called Fatal Mind Check out my pilot! Go to my channel and select, Fatal Mind Pilot. It's a cyberpunk Thriller!

  • Love Dune!

  • because of you i became Anthony Rother's fan... thanks

  • Excellent!!!

  • der sound ist grossartig

  • How did you sit through Dune? Boring!

And again, I loved the 1st version of "The Thing" much better than Carpenter's copy.

  • I liked Krull!

  • Hi,

We love SF and your posts.

Visit us , and let me know your opinion about our SF clips made by Adrian Chifu.

    Greetings from Transylvania, Romania.

  • Silent Running was one of the most tedious films I've ever seen, with one of the worst plots.

  • Tell me again about the waters of your home-world, usal

  • The flying fat man is the most horrible and asquerous thing i ever seen i almost vomit when see this guy in action.

  • Silent running was also a very good film.

  • The series they did was also very well done With William Hurt.

  • Dune was now and never will be One of the Greatest Science Fiction Movies Ever

it should be thrown on the scrap heap with Blade Runner

  • @Crimsonriven Totally agree with you both films garbage----

  • It's set in the near future. They use "milk plus"; The Ludovico technique: An experimental aversion therapy for rehabilitating criminals within two weeks. It's not just as simple as sci-fi. Fot the sixties standard it was a critic to western culture. Let`s say it's behaviourist sci-fi cinema.

  • how is a clockwork orange sci fi

  • Greetings from SF club Helion, Timisoara, Romania !

  • silent running was a great film and still holds it own today, always felt sad for the 3 robots , you get attached to them as the film go's on ,

  • Bruce Dern's favorite movie and he HATES science fiction!

  • yeeeaahh but master directer guy would have done way better with all the amazing actors he was going to hire! Lots of cool things that I can't name :( but they didn't have enough money for their extremely long film....... whhhy/.

  • not only was sting in dune but also when the movie ended you were sad that it was over. That's how good it was.

Silent running looked good but didn't look worth a download

a clockwork orange... hmmm a little too realistic it's scary for sure but a classic

The thing is just a horror in my opinion, the theme has been overdone

Brazil is stunning to look at. All the light colors everywhere I always liked that one

  • Silent Running made me curl up into a ball and cry...

  • Dune was so original, it turned into a cult classic. Silent Running was kind of disturbing, science fiction horror; of destroying agriculture space ships as artificial foods was invented--it is an ecology statement of Earth. A Clockwork Orange shows a dystopia, where in the future they experience every fantasy, but the rogues are reprogrammed, wild. The Thing, the mystery monster movie. Brazil, another Dystopia.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF U mad bro?!

  • @WOWJBEOWULF Dune was not original.

  • @InfinityWard312 Dune, the movie, is so original that it influenced the future of science fiction thought: It is not only about being published, editors see thousands of stories that don't make it, it is also about being able to popularize it.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF It was not the first and will not be the last enough said.

  • @InfinityWard312 Thank you for your feedback, I have read and watched a lot of science fiction and we see something special on the survivors that survive the public opinion; and you don't like Dune, good for you.

  • @WOWJBEOWULF I never said I did not like Dune I am just saying I hope you are not one of those people who say ignorant statements like if it was not for Dune there would be no Star Wars or Blade Runner. Idiots who say that are sadly mistaken. Dune was not the first space opera neither was Star Wars and Blade Runner was not the first movie to show a futuristic dystopia in a mega city full of technology, robots, cyborgs, and etc. The earliest movie I know of is Metropolis, came out in 1927 Germany

  • @InfinityWard312 Eh... I highly doubt people are being ignorant when making statements like, "If it were not for Dune, blah, blah..." Dune was made in an era where science fiction wasn't even a stand-alone genre. Back than, people used bits and pieces of their imagination to fuel their own ideas of the distant future. Frank Herbert was the first man to actually step up and create an entire universe set in science fiction. Dune. So yes, it technically was the first science fiction novel ever.

  • @InfinityWard312 Also, it isn't ignorance leading people to say that without Dune, Star Wars would have never been made. Star Wars is sadly a cheap rip off of Dune. 90% of Star Wars is stolen copy from Dune. George Lucas used Dune as a very heavy source of inspiration. Why? Because Dune was the first of it's kind. Much like how Lord of the Rings inspired pretty much all fantasy novels.

  • @Bludhoundz8 Technically it was H.G. Wells back in the 1800s, but you are half right. No harm done.

  • @InfinityWard312 Oh well. Cheers.

  • @Bludhoundz8 When I saw ST it reminded me of Aut Clake, The Trilogy--

  • @WOWJBEOWULF DEAD SPACE WOULD TOP ALL OF THESE!

  • brazil? that´s were i live!

  • those who control the spice, control the land

  • i liked it but i would liked to hear the voices and the screaming

  • song name plz

and artist name would be appreciated

  • @faekurafi

The Music are two tracks from Anthony Rother's Album "Simulationszeitalter" (2000): "Maschinewelt" and "Simulationszeitalter".

  • Comment removed

  • dune is based on a bunch of crack heads who do a drug called SPICE

  • Good list, but Music Sucks

  • Silent running should be in the top five list!

  • What song is it at the start of this video it kicks ass double time?

  • SILENT RUNNING is the most ripped off sci-fi film of all time.

  • the music is the shit!!!

  • i actually saw Brazil recently. Good movie. And the idiotic main character is a perfect example for what the higher powers what us to become. Smart enough to do our jobs really well, dumb enough to be unable to acomplish anything else :D

  • Yeah, now we're gettin' into the really good stuff! I agree with this portion of the list, at least.

  • You forget this little piece of awesome and widely recognized Science Fiction, that has a very popularized book with tons of deeper and double meaning, that has sprouted off dozens and dozens of movies all based around it.

Way bigger than Star Wars, or Star Trek. It's this wonderful little series called "The Bible". It's really a great read. You guys should pick it up. Best SciFi novel ever.

  • Yeah i love the part where jesus takes his spaceship and flies up gods arse. Smoke em if you got em!

  • @heyyougooutside. Um... aside from the creation of the Earth and the Stars the bible really doesnt talk about Outer Space at all. Think I'll pass!

  • @Jedistarship outter space has stars and planets aswell that had to be created and in the vast endlessnes of the universe earth and our star the sun would be considered "Outer Space" from all the other countless galaxies! Does this mean there is an infinte number of alternative bibles for these other places?

  • @polarhercules. Absolutely there could be alternative Bibles that talk about all other Cosmic aspects in our universe. But these Bibles if there are any wouldnt be referenced from a Human perspective if you know what I mean. My original point about Stars & Planets mentioned in the bible I was stating that very little has been talked about in the way of anything cosmic literally, except for Stars, Earth (our planet) and the Heavens. What happened to everything else? Not Scifi worthy sorry!

  • i like your choice in music as well as films!!!

dopplereffekt would work very well too...hope you look them up, if you don't know of them already! take care.

  • I would have put Silent Running in the top five!

No Silent Running no Alien, no Wall-e, no matrix, no star wars.

These films would neither have been made or they would have been radically different.

  • Staw Wars was space-fantasy and ripped off several scripts & screen plays.

  • Dune is Dune

    is a miles stone

    5*****

Like Waterworld, Mad Max 1 and 2

    The best of sci-fi

    Bye

    Max

  • Dune is on my top list together with Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

  • Dune was on TV at 5am one day. Too bad I was too tired to watch it. :(

  • its a stanley kubrik movie... shame on you

  • Lol, books are slow tv mate :)

  • The book is considered to be the greatest sci-fi novel of all time, and you found it boring? How? That book was friggin awesome, and Herbert's style of writing is excellent, a less is more approach in descriptions and some compelling dialogue. Literature has no use for you.

  • Maybe I'll read the book. I got caught up in Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series and wanted to punch myself in the face after every 100 word description of some dress some woman was wearing :\

  • @Chickidydow Actually one of the greatest not the greatest.

  • @Chickidydow What are you, 12? Nobody agrees on what is good and what is bad. You should learn to accept that people have opinions different to your own.

  • @Chickidydow I found it incredibly boring and still do. And ive forced myself to endure all of the books. Children of dune is my favorite. He did what tolkien did. Used broad strokes to paint his world. A lot like a history book. The secret is that your mind fills in all those holes and makes it much bettre than what was really written. That doesnt mean people who find it boring are somehow "less". Try reading War and Peace sometime..

  • @cdreid9999 I read War and Peace and could not stop. I was so sorry when it ended.

You must have not a human bone in your body.

  • "The Thing" is science fiction !! Otherwise Alien is also in the "horror" genre. That would be sad...

  • thanks a lot

  • sweet
