Do you know how I can make zerglings only spawn if there's a certain minerals that needs to be consume when a player gathers resources that can evolve zerlings?
I don't understand why you don't click instead of using hotkeys while going through this. I have been looking to add the start locations forever, and I just can't find it. I have also used google without luck. It is a hard enough tutorial to follow without having to look forever for the right tab.

Why is it that Starcraft's scenario builder is a flippin' rocket science project?! Why isn't it as simple as any other strategy game editor: Age of Empires, Galactic Battlegrounds (Star Wars adaptation of Age of Empires), and even the crappy Empire Earth had a simple scenario builder! But on of the best strategy games of all time can't make a simple map builder, I can't even figure out how to test them. They screwed up two times in a row, come on!
I have a problem with my map. I'm trying to create starting positions for players, and I want player 1 and 2 to both share the same command center and resources. I don't know how to do that or if its possible. Do you know how? Also, I'm trying to make it to where player 3 does not have a command center (he should only control the waves). He always spawns with a command center. Do you know how to place his starting position and force him to not have a starting building?
Is there any certain way you should set up a map BEFORE making a new one? (wtf are dependencies??) and if so how exactly do you go about setting it up properly for a mod like this. I'm following this tutorial step by step and trying to make this map to the point, and I'm doing good so far, but that's been bothering me from some of the other tutorials I've looked up.
@Ichigo6739 I'll try and answer what I can. Dependencies you don't really need to know about, except that if you watch my newer tutorials you'll see I always check off the 4 standard dependencies when making a new map. This is so that we get campaign units and multiplayer units. Blizzard has set it up so if you don't check off campaign dependencies, you dont get any data stuff from the campaign... which is fine for melee maps but in most cases we want it. Hope that helps.

hey dude i have a bad problem. Whenever i try to open the starcraft 2 map editor(i bought the game) it opens fine and tells me to log in so i do but then it says" Battle.net connection was lost" then it closes. I cant seem to fix it i tried uninstalling the game and re installing. Any help?
Hey OneTwoSC, sorry if i'm bugging you but i got a few more questions.
I'm having problems publishing my game onto battle.net. When I publish it, its like nothing changed when I logged into starcraft. It's like i never published at all. Did i do something wrong?
And i'm having problems giving different units different kill rewards. As of right now, my 15 hp zergling and 125000 hp boss all give 3 minerals each kill. I set it to units attached to Region give 3 minerals when they die.
@Archy2k You should be able to see your map in "My Published" of create game. This tutorial is a bit old, but as of now, you can use combat - kill resource in the unit to specify how much money it gives when dieing.
Hey mate! Totally love your tutorial, helped alot. A thing your video doesn't show though, is how to make marauders attack air. I've seen mods with marauders attacking mutas, but I've searched everywhere and can't find the option. Help the poor guy in need :p?
@Archy2k Weapons tab, search Marauder. Click on marauder's weapon. Look at Target Filters and I think Search Filters. In there it will probably have "Air" as excluded... change it to allowed.
LOL, this is basically like Warcraft III world editor but even better. Seems like if you have knowledge about Warcraft III editor you can do this (just that little thing has changed a bit).

Awesome tutorials friend! I have just ran across some problem(s) though. I've watched all of these tutorials relating to your Zerg Invasion, followed them step by step, but I don't really know where I went wrong. I've looked at your Unit Spawning triggers and variables and compared them to mine, and they are the same. However my Zerglings aren't spawning (Hydralisks do though!). Also everything besides the marine requires another building. Also, my build time isn't working right. Any thoughts?
@iBESERKK Means you ALMOST followed me perfectly haha.
For build time, make sure you modified the same field that I did. I did this back on the OLD OLD Beta editor and fields got moved around. For the other units, you didnt press the red X beside requirements for each one's spot in the Train ability... make sure you click it so they have no requirement.
@OneTwoSC Okay yeah, I fixed it I believe. I had to go to (my building's name was training facility) the TF, under abilities, under barracks-train, and go to ability info, double click each unit to bring up it's fields (cost, time, requirements, etc) and edit it there. I have to say it's drastically different from the Beta, but regardless it helped me out a lot! If you have a tutorial on having multiple waves of different kinds, can you link that when you can? Making a bigger invasion map (:

@TeamRedz All I know of is to add rain to the map, and that's located in doodads from large, meduim, and small. A few large rain doodads covers an 88x88 map. If that helps any.

@randomer1432 Lol I get this question a lot. Click on the map button on the top toolbar and its somewhere in there (button near map info)... then check off modify map bounds in the tool if you want to not just change the camera bounds.

@SpartanSubject Thats a pretty broad question, but I'd look at making sure the Train ability has a seige tank in it (and remove the requirement inside if train seiege tank has one)... then you add the button to the HQ, then make the button do ability command, no requirement, Ability - Train (w/e it's named), and then pick Train Siege Tank or w/e
Okay so whats bugging me now is, how do I get an image from google (I saved the image and its on my desktop) And get it into the loading screen?When I search for images in the map info / loading screen / custom image...all it shows me is texture names, it seems I cant search on the desktop...is there anyway I can get this custom image into my loading screen :)? @SpartanSubject Import Manager. Import from there (Right click-> Import files). then save. Then go back to loading screen and youll see it in list when you browse now. Also, it has to be TGA or DDS.

Anyway, If you're asking how to create multiple units in a region, just look at the trigger action "Unit - Create unit(s) facing angle". Otherwise, I'm not really sure what youre asking :(
@dragonlord174 I see you removed this comment, but I still saw it. My goal with the tutorial is that you watch it and learn it and then you can come back to it later. No matter how well I can narrate, you will still have to stop and watch to see where I clicked, unless of course you're fluent in the editor... which should happen anyway.

@Wareitar Thx for your comment! Um I'm going off the top of my head, but I would go through each item in the View menu. Show map bounds must be in there somewhere, although I don't remember turning it on.
There is a map boundries editor, where you can up the size of the map as you wish, and set the boundries so on so forth. However, I can't get it to show on my minimap. Or in the editor main window itself.
If you find out how that would be awesome, as it would help out alot when it comes to hiding those spawn points for zerg and such...
Fixed alliances can be set through the player properties as well, not just through triggers. Start locations are also used for the default camera location for players, but this can also be set through triggers.
@Tinesthia I've found that alliances HAVE to be done through triggers so far for sc2... any time I tried to set up teams through the Player properties window, I go ingame and everyone shoots eachother...

@dragonlord174 I see you removed this comment, but I still saw it. My goal with the tutorial is that you watch it and learn it and then you can come back to it later. No matter how well I can narrate, you will still have to stop and watch to see where I clicked, unless of course you're fluent in the editor... which should happen anyway.

@Wareitar Thx for your comment! Um I'm going off the top of my head, but I would go through each item in the View menu. Show map bounds must be in there somewhere, although I don't remember turning it on.

There is a map boundries editor, where you can up the size of the map as you wish, and set the boundries so on so forth. However, I can't get it to show on my minimap. Or in the editor main window itself.
If you find out how that would be awesome, as it would help out alot when it comes to hiding those spawn points for zerg and such...

Fixed alliances can be set through the player properties as well, not just through triggers. Start locations are also used for the default camera location for players, but this can also be set through triggers.

@Tinesthia I've found that alliances HAVE to be done through triggers so far for sc2... any time I tried to set up teams through the Player properties window, I go ingame and everyone shoots eachother...
