6-sided shurikens have more chance of hitting and injuring the target, but the smaller sizes, like the 3-side or 4-sided shuriken would go in deeper because of a larger edge.. i love the video man, keep it up
Dude.... You do not know what your talking about. Please dont try and teach people with your videos that show incorrect technique. Find a real dojo that Hatsumi backs.
In my experience, I noticed that the more points may stick better, but they don't sink in deep at all because of the excess points. The 4 point I think has the best penetration. 3 point has a chance of hitting a flat edge, but also just as good as 4 point. 5 points are the most I want on my stars ever though, because after that you lose penetration power.
@LivingWarMachine There are many methods for throwing the star, if you throw it and it goes where you want it to go, and you move efficiently. Then I would believe there are many correct methods for throwing the ninja star. Skillfully casting the whirling blade can prove difficult.
mike id have to say that a 6 point does stick better than most but each shuriken to my knowledge had or has a different usage purposes, i mainly use the six points because i know they will stick but i perfer a 4 pointed star, but there to be thrown in a different way than that of just sticking it into something.more less ,yes, a slicing distraction rather than a incertion of point or points.
The less the points, the harder to throw. If you can throw a Bo Shuriken, you can throw them all. Keep this in mind. The Bo Shuriken were thrown by professionals.
ummmmm... okayyyy i dont think you will ever have "targets" to kill

The 5 and 6 point ones will stick better/more frequently but the 3 and 4 sided will generally stick deeper.
mmacconn069 1 year ago
@mmacconn069 I totally agree. It has to do with surface area and blade depth ratios.

I kind of like one pointed shuriken. Harder to throw though.

@WaiteDavidMSPhysics Yes the bo shuriken or ninja spikes they are not stars though. Yes I like those too.

@timspacedout87
Any throwing bladed things are classified as shuriken including Kunai Bo shuriken and more modern throwing knifes.
