  • theres a certain limit to how fast a human hand could move. and this is certainly not human level. O.O

  • HHmm, .. How long do you think this song would take a guy who had never take any piano lesson before?

  • My face for real... (* o *)

  • well I've seen a lot of air platform performances but this one definitely takes the cake

  • hi, do you mind releasing your sheet music for this song, I really want to attempt it,

    Thanks and great cover!

  • OH HECK MAN. (Y)!

  • When my bro still used to play piano, he actually played this live along with other mario songs at an event

  • YOU VS TAIOO

  • Nice dude.

1 Question... How did you record it? If i want record it, the quality is very terrible >.<

  • @AkoyaP6618 probably with a camera

  • Wow you just went Super Sonic at 0.58 AWESOME

I would've broken my arm if I were you

  • Oh hell yes.

  • IMPOSSIBRU!!!

  • OH YEAH THE NOSTALGIA.

I remember this was played by the "blind folded pianist".

Awesome jumps, dude, you really have already a very high piano skill.

Also regarding your finger: Same thing happens to me too, if I play too much piano. It's important to cut your nails in time.

  • Amazinggg

  • Awesome stuff :D

  • I was a little disappointed the song didn't pick up much speed in tempo after the hurry up jingle played, but I understand wholeheartedly why it wasn't much faster. That left hand has too much to move through and going any faster would increase the probability of more errors so I guess it was better that you didn't speed up much.

  • @EmphaticItalic This took me about two days of separate sessions to just record a perfect take. And to be honest, proving the video wasn't my priority. I did not record a video to prove, I recorded to perform and entertain people.

  • @TehIshter Im not one for lessons or but I catch on visually almost instantly, i have a very sloppyish version of air platform theme, It gets sloppy at :07-:09, :13-:14, and :38-:42, perhaps you could dedicate a small video convering just those parts a bit more thoroughly? I've seen many different variations, but I like your's the most, P.S I can't read music and what's your technique for practicing the octave jumps on left hand?

  • @TehIshter Hey how did you work towards playing good stride motion like this? Are there certain techniques that you did? I've been looking everywhere. If you can tell me this thanks!

  • Yes you're very clever uploading the extra "proof" clip, but if you really wanted to prove *this* wasn't sped up, wouldn't you need to upload the entire video again displaying the stopwatch? How do I know this isn't still fake?

  • OMG NOW I WANNA PLAY SUPER MARIO BROS....

  • Seeing you play makes me want to know how to play also. To bad i have crappy hands. Still great seeing you play

  • @NanohaSamaChan Crappy hands don't matter. Piano technique is about learning subtle complex motions for fast playing. To play fast you move in a *different* way from which motion you would use for playing slow. You don't just speed up the slow motion to "play faster" and build up tension. My point is you can learn to play too if you want.

  • @EmphaticItalic maybe i will give it a go. wonder if my reattached part of my hand will work properly. no problems realy. now hope one of my 5 job applications will go well. haha, another expense on my list besided going to law school. o well.

i will see how it goes when i buy a piano.

anyone know a good starter model or brand? good to begin with and good when i ( hope to ) get this good haha.

  • That was ridiculously impossible for the left hand after 0:58

I sincerely absolutely completely down-right am dumbfoundedly befuzzled by that intoxicatingly amazing yet diabolically insane performance.

  • @jonny2005450 Have you seen w3sp's version? His performance is even faster, lolol

  • @TehIshter My God, I don't think his performance abides the laws of physics.

  • @TehIshter Yeah, his is faster, but I think yours is technically better and cleaner, so I enjoyed yours more for that. The way he integrated his recording with the game footage was pretty awesome, though. Great work to both of you!

  • @TehIshter When playing fast do you recommend keep voicings simpler too?

  • Yay. Although I know you've been active again just wanted to say, glad you got a profile up and running again. =p

    ...

Also... That left hand... How long did you practice for?

  • DAT LEFT HAND

  • This made my morning!

  • I recommend you put a clock on your piano while you play to prove the disbelievers its in real time. Playing only the left hand makes it confusing in the proof video

  • TheIshter, I will donate $25 if you provide us with a Lilium video PLUS the complete sheet in .mus and ,pdf format. Answer me, and I'll think to offer $50. I am serious.

  • @PAMattey Jesus! Well, how can I not bite at that.

Within two weeks at most, you'll get those three things.

  • @TehIshter So, as soon as we get that, you will see that money there. And please make sure you'll use it for good!

Also what software do you recommend me to sync audio and video?

I'm thinking of uploading videos as soon as I get my new KAWAI CA93.

  • @TehIshter By the way, don't rush.

My "donation offer" expires in jan/28/2012.

  • @PAMattey Donations are pretty inspiring, but whether or not you actually donate is up to you (obviously)

I'll upload the sheets and video, whatever the choice you make~

  • @TehIshter Did you check your PayPall accout or your email already?

    @PWIRairai thanks for what?

  • @TehIshter FINNALY!!! >:D

  • @PAMattey THANKYOU!!!

  • nice playing...)

  • @3llianX I think that's one of the characteristics of my digial piano: really heavy keys, easier dynamic control. Would be harder to do on a regular grand, I think.

  • Impressive how your left hand manages the accents on the bass notes while keeping the chords this light.

  • @Googlyboog Nail size is NOT a problem. If it was, every nail should be cracked by now.

  • Just cut your goddamn nails!

  • YOU'RE SO FAST I THINK I'VE GONE BLIND

  • Ah, reminiscing about the Video Game Pianist =P Good memories, that.

  • Your left hand's a complete blur. 8'D

    D: Poor index finger.

  • SUPER FAKE !!! liked as usual ;)

  • Also, whenever I hear this I can't help but think watch?v=ZI-ol25RFws

  • I wanna learn this now! Happy Super Mario week everyone~!

  • I'm not a pianist so I wouldn't know, but is the right hand for this anywhere near as difficult as the left hand?

  • @EvanFingerstyle The right hand is MUCH easier.

  • Your shot of the index finger thing looks like some sort of modern art with political commentaries about the fragility of modern society or something. :|

Did you arrange this? Doesn't sound much like your arranging. The jumps are really... uh, they feel unnecessary. Maybe they're there to force you to be lively or something because of how fast you have to go? :v

  • @Mushyrulez Nope, the arrangement is widely popular among Mario piano videos on YouTUbe.

Also, Hyadain is awesome. Best works in Nichijou anime, in my opinion.

  • how long have you been playing?

    plus great videos!!!!!!

  • You make me want to go downtown and sign up for piano lessons right NOW.

  • That left hand..... alksdjoaiwef so frustrating to get it down right! So kudos to you!! :D All hail super mario week!!

  • @Fantasiex3 YOU CAN DOOOO IT :DDDDDD always nice to go on youtube and see a vibrant piano community :D

  • @acefrom1836 :D :D :D

  • this is great..but it seems Martin Leung's is the master of this song

  • Your precision makes me so hard... Amazing.

  • Awesome, you inadvertently fulfilled a request I made a while ago. So happy.

Really though, those clean staccato jumps are just so sexy. I'm extremely jealous of that kind of accuracy.

  • I LOVE THIS

  • What happened to your index finger? My left index fingernail broke from playing this!

  • @krissalad Well, it became weak when I cut it with a knife (I was opening a rice bag :P).

Now it cracks easier when I use it to play.

  • @TehIshter That has to be one of the most tragic injuries for somebody using their hands, eg a pianist.

  • cleannn jumps

  • @PaintAMelody 0:38 bothers me, but this was a good take overall, blaodfhiuh

  • first comment yay!

    awesome job TheIshter!!
