@CI321 CO2 systems are methods of delivering CO2 to the plants in your tank. With this type of setup, you need more CO2 than what is being provided naturally. This take has a 20Ib CO2 tank with a regulator on a timer. This allows the CO2 to be delivered during the times of the day it's needed most. It's something that you will want to do a little research on before jumping into though. Search for CO2 Planted Tank on Google and you should find some great articles.
@CI321 The need for CO2 really depends on the amount of plants, light, growth, and such you are looking to attain. When this video was taken, the plants were about 60% filled in. Along with the CO2, I was dosing the tank with fertilizers daily, and supplying high amounts of light. Just keep an eye on your plants over time. Their overall health should tell you if you need to add some CO2 or not. It was the other factors that required it for this tank. I hope you enjoy your planted tank :)
@CI321 There are several ways, depending on the needs of the plants in the tank. For a 75G, I would highly suggest a CO2 tank setup with a regulator and timers. plantedtank -dot- net has a lot of information on CO2 setups and planted tanks. Be sure to browse the forums to learn a lot about different setups and such. This tank had a 20Ib Co2 Tank with a Rex Regultor on a timer.
Great tank! I'm going to be starting up a 75 Gallon tank somewhat like your's. I want to have a fully planted tank. I have a couple questions... Should I use a CO2 system to boost growth? And which on your opinion is better sand or gravel for aquarium substrate and looks?
@XXGOLDENXXDRAGONXX Thanks for the compliments. If you are going to be doing a planted tank, I would HIGHLY suggest a CO2 system. You will also want to ensure that you have ample lighting for your setup and you will probably want to do some research on ferts too. I used a mix of Flourite and another sand/silt mix for my substrate. It's been a good hobby, but it surely has it's challenges :)
im trying to have a colorful community tank, i have 4 serpae tetra,7 neon terta 5 assorted male mollies i think and 1 pleco
i was trying to think of one more try of fish to finish this off but i dont know, all i do know is it has to be small so it dont kill off my other small fish like the tetra
@kaleluk31 Depending on how large your tank is, you can find some larger fish like Gouramis... I have had several types and have never had a problem with them eating other fish... They will tend to pick at mosses and smaller plants, but not too bad. I have never had any dwarfs though since they do seem to be a little aggressive. If you are looking to stay small, cardinal tetras are also really good. I also love my Otto's, they are small and are workhorses when it comes to algae removal.
It's very very quiet, typically.. I say typically, because it can get an air bubble in it that makes it a little noisy. I only use it as a biological filter and have the basket filled with Eheim Ehfisubstrat, so it rarely gets messed with. The only time I will get a bubble in it is when I clean the media in there and turn it off. I really like the filter with the XP doing the heavier filtering. Hope that helps :)
@teawins21 next time you detach your filter to clean the media make sure that once you put it back together therer are no air bubbles in it after you seal it back up... my 350 was making a lot of noise for a time and i found that if it is completely filled with water that it is very silent... you should not be able to hear it

How loud is your magnum 350? Some people say they can't even hear theirs. However, mine is pretty audible.
