Lower ur salt intake guys the body will hold onto water to rehydrate itself so if ye have a low salt diet you can lose a 2-3lbs of water weight. Don't get disheartened!!
I really can't think how to word my reply without getting confusing so i'll just summarise.
Dehydrated Body : Retains 2-3 lbs of "waste" water, still requires constant hydrations (eg your 7 - 8 pints of water) to help flush said waste water out....will often end up urinating blood in extreme cases.
Hydrated body : No 2-3lbs of waste water so only water going into body is 7-8 pints it wont be temporary if you stick to eating right. The body only holds it if really feels it has to.
@Cliffjumper24 It's not that simple. Starving yourself causes your body to hold onto weight. You have to eat frequently to keep the digestion going, but lightly to keep it from creating fat.
Keep up the good job. You are doing yourself a great favour, increasing quality of life!

@TheChesneyChrist That's just temporarily since you need the liquid. Especially if you live in very hot areas.

Guys...... less eating, more excercise! Pretty easy really.
The problem with dieting is that people have this idea in their head of what they 'should be'.
The thing is, there are tall people, short people, fat people and thin people.... and everything else in between.
But if you eat healtily (a bit of fat, but not too much, etc), your body will take whatever shape that may be
How far from work do you live and do you have to drive?
If it's only a couple of miles, why not cycle?

It's more about balance.
You tend to put on weight when you because you're doing too much or not enough of something.
If you're eating more than you're excecising off, then waitgain will usually be the result.
