  • Cute!

  • Ironic when a dumb human calls someone else a dumb human lol

  • as with all these videos, another dumb human doing animal cruelty, cage is to small.

it must be no less than 2x1x1 meter.

  • @RMJ1984 Actually, our chipmunk runs freely through the house and lives very happily as you can see from our videos. I hope your life is as happy as our chipmunk's!

  • i have a pet chipmuk too

  • Thanks for putting this up on YouTube! This made my day, BTW she is soon cute!!!

  • thats adoooorable n cuuuuuute

  • ooomgg cuuuuuuuuuuuteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • cute :)

  • Eeehehehehhe! This reminds me of me in the morning!

I have two pet rats and it's soo cute to see the similarities between them and a Chipmunk (we don't have them here in Australia D:) I love the little rodent stretch-and-yawn they seem to share! :D

This has since become my instant cheer up video :D

  • @Zephyrhatesyou Glad you enjoyed the video! I feel the same way - she looks a lot like me in the morning! :) That was the original reason I shared the video - because I felt like it shows how we ALL feel in the morning, whether you're a person, a cat, a rat or a chipmunk! My fav part is still towards the end, where she falls over - I do the same thing reaching for things in my closet! :)

Have fun with your rats - they're great, intelligent pets!!

  • CUTEST EVER!!!!!

  • How does one come to own a chipmunk? :D It's so damn cute!!

  • @rosebloodfaerie Thanks for writing! To answer your question, she is actually adopted from the wild. She bonded with our family over the few days she stayed with us, so we decided to keep her!

  • @TheMysnickers ahhh! that's so awesome! I wish I was that lucky! :P

  • Dear to Mr. MySnickers,

I no tell you this before, but you are such a nice man for talking to you animal like he a part of you family! I think to my own brother how he use to wake me up to go to the school, and he would not be as nice of you. He bring a pot and pan from the kitchen and he hit them to make me up. If he talk so soft like you, I be so much a happy man.

    -Rogelio

  • @mintygin Your story reminds me of my friend's father, Rastapopoulos (name changed), who used to wake my friend up by coming into his room at 7:00 am and yelling, "It's 8:30 - we're late for school!!!" And then when my friend jumped out of bed with his heart racing and got ready really quick, he would find Rastapopoulos sitting in the kitchen sipping coffee, snickering. To some that might be funny, but to me, it crosses the line. What do you think?

  • To Mr. MySnickers, please to excuse me for no writing back sooner, but I have been experience a lot of work to day. But I like to tell you that you bring me a smile each morning, I yawn just like the chipmunk and I think that today will not be such a bad day. If it was possible to live like the chipmunk and have such a nice boy like my grandson or you to take care of me, I think it would be heaven.

  • @mintygin Dear mintygin, I am sorry to hear that you have been working a lot, although in this day and age, that could also be read as good news. But yes, our chipmunk lives a very enviable life. And - she works hard too - on the hamster wheel, opening acorns, scratching on the couch - clearly a different paradigm, yet work all the same. Our lives are more similar than we think!

  • @TheMysnickers OMG I LOVE RODENTS (rabbits chipmunks squrrels Ground hogs mice ect)

    Thank you for filiming <333

    xoxoxox

  • @XTinaxxLove02 Thanks for your comment - really happy you enjoyed the video! Small animals can be so sweet and make great pets, and it is equally fun to observe them in the wild. I love it when they come to my hand to eat!

  • Animal videos are great! You'll love a video that I have on my page. I filmed a dog, cat and mouse who all have grown up together and live with each other in harmony. They sleep snuggled with one another. It's super sweet.

  • @austingoddess I love your video - thank you so much for sharing!! It is indeed super cute and amazing that all three are vibing 100%! I would truly be honored if you would post it as a video response to our chipmunk. :)

  • You'll love the pet video I have on my page. I filmed a dig, cat and mouse who live together and sleep snuggled with one another every night.

  • Hahahha! I wish someone could wake me up in the morning baby-talking to me like this :)

  • @theKidPossum Hey there KidPossum - thanks for your comment! Great username you have there. I think the best way to get this kind of coo-cooing in the morning is to act as cute as possible!! :)

  • That is cute. I now feel guilty after my vigorous trap and drown campaign I launched this past summer netting 34.....sad.....

  • @kenya1987 That is very sad indeed. If I had met you before the summer began, I would have suggested you use live traps to rid yourself of unwanted animals. I have successfully removed mice from my property with live traps, and it feels great to release them alive and unharmed back into the wild. But perhaps your situation offered no alternative. Either way, if you knew how much love could come from one little chipmunk, I am sure you would have explored alternate means.

  • I like to say to Mr. MySnickers that you are the wise man for showing us that a wild creature like this is so much a friend to people like you and me. I know I say this, but I want to go to my backyard and find one that is cute like him. Because I think that it would make me not as lonesome! I used to have a pet rat with a bright red eye and a warm heart. But I am not a boy anymore.

    -Rogelio

  • @mintygin Dear Mr. Rogelio, your comment brings a tear to my eye! I too had a pet rat as a boy, and have since enjoyed the companionship of animals. Why don't you take a trip to the local pound or pet store, and see who could use a friend? :)

  • i like to make this chipmunk for my own pet at home! I ask to Mr. MySnickers, do you have any tip for to have this pet of my own at home? Love to you and you family,

    Rogelio

  • @mintygin Dear Rogelio, thank you so much for your comment. You can certainly keep a chipmunk as a pet, and you can get one either from a breeder, or from the wild. But you must do a lot of reading, to educate yourself on how to take care of them and give them a happy life. They require a lot of space, a healthy, varied diet, and extra love and patience as they are much more energetic and fragile than an ordinary small pet! -Mysnickers

  • My video response isn't showing up so maybe I didn't do it right, but for anyone that wants to see it, click on my ID and look for the video called "Button Hearts Chipmunks.wmv" (don't worry, no chipmunks were harmed in the making of this video).

  • @Nerfinator91 I love your video!! This is wonderful interplay between a house pet and a wild animal. It's fascinating, that sometimes animals who would naturally be predator/prey form a bond! There are some excellent examples of this to be found, if you spend a little time searching YouTube. It's my hypothesis that animals who have their needs met, e.g. shelter and food, begin to look for friendship next. :) Thank you for sharing.

  • @TheMysnickers Glad you enjoyed the video. I remember seeing a video of a cat that had bonded with a mouse or a rat (I forget which) and they were adorable together. And of course, I've read countless stories about unexpected animal bonds. Love them all.

I was really amazed to see how responsive your chipmunk was to you. Looked just like something my cat would do, yawning and stretching his paw towards you.

  • @Nerfinator91 Some of my favorite cross-species moments are when cats and dogs (traditional enemies of course!) bond and curl up together...those are just adorable. Yes, she is such a calm animal - if you look for more chipmunk videos on youtube, you'll find that they are often quite spastic and fidgety. But ours is just an ocean of calm and sweetness! Although...I must confess that sometimes she does get hyper and charges around the living room!

  • Adorable!! I want one!

Unfortunately, so does my cat... lol (see video response). I've been putting out nuts and seeds for the neighborhood chipmunks for 10 years or so mostly because they entertain my cats so much, but secretly because they entertain me too.

My first cat developed what I am convinced was a friendship with one of the chipmunks, who spent 5 years racing across my window ledge (not necessary to reach the food), often pausing to wait for my cat to lunge at the screen.

  • @Nerfinator91 They are totally playing! Both cats and chipmunks are savvy thinkers, there's no doubt about it. They will play and tease each other, as long as they have food and a warm home to return to. Although, I would never let a cat near my chipmunk, unless perhaps if they were raised together. I see that scenario much like I see tigers and their trainers - they often love each other, but sometimes the tiger plays too rough and the trainer gets injured, totally unintentionally.

  • @TheMysnickers Yes, I agree. That's why I'd be afraid to have a pet chipmunk and a cat at the same time. Even if they are the best of friends, there's always that risk that the feline hunting instinct might take over.

I figure I've got the best of both worlds as I get to enjoy watching them play with little worry of anyone getting hurt.

  • This is super amazing and achingly adorable :D I didn't know people kept chipmunks and pets. I've always wondered that while watching chipmunks and squirrels playing out the window. How did you come across this pet chipmunk of yours, and is she nice? She looks like a sweetie.

  • @praisemyusername Thanks for writing! Chipmunks as far as I know are pretty rare as pets in the USA, where I am from, although it is my understanding that they are popular in England and some Asian countries. Mine was caught wild, but quickly became tame in a matter of weeks. We take loving care of her, give her a healthy diet and plenty of room to exercise, and now she comes to our hand when called! She is truly a member of the family. :)

  • Aaaaahhh! TOO CUTE!

  • @0wlets Thanks for saying so! BTW, does your user name owlets mean "baby owls?" Because I'll bet they are super cute as well!! :)

  • REAL MOWGLI. In one of the remote provinces of Laos a camera crew filmed tiger with a little boy on his back .youtube.com/watch?v=1g1Qhd-FuwU

  • @maya290909 I'm sorry to say it, but this video is a fake. Albeit the 2D/3D artist(s) did an excellent job!

  • Chipmunks make a great stew. How much will you sell it for?

  • @yzxklfg Sorry, she's not for sale, and definitely not for stew! Your local supermarket may have some good options, though. How about a potato casserole to satisfy your hunger?

  • That's so cute! Like watching Disney...

  • @joewhk If Disney were holding auditions for the next Chipmunk movie, we might just have to catch a plane to Hollywood! :)

  • I love the way you talk to her. Adorable. She looks very content.

  • @esria Thank you for saying so. She is pampered, to say the least! And -- her cuteness brings out the baby talker in me, that's for sure. I didn't even realize I was cooing like that until I played back the video!

  • i hope the cage is bigger than it looks

  • @lotusrow I am glad you asked! She has a big, comfortable cage, and comes out to play all the time! She is very well taken care of. In fact, she is sitting on my shoulder right now, and she says "hi!" (well, at least in chipmunk-talk) :)

  • This is the cutest thing I have ever seen.

  • @MoonlitEden Thank you for your kind words! This is definitely the cutest moment I have ever filmed!

  • She's really likes the guy! =D

She's sooo happy to see him jejejeje

I love it! so cute, stretching inside her bed.

  • @dbah44 We are best friends! She is running around my desk right now, and just peed on the electric bill - whoops!! She picked a good spot jajaja :)

  • I like the noises she makes "awww AwWw AWWW OHHHHH" hahaha

  • @Lasofivec Thank you for making the first comment on her video! It was a collaborative effort. :) Life is so much better with our animal friends...
