Coming from some one that really is emo/ scene,

emo is a type of mind how u handle things and look at the world being emotional distressed and depressed all the time

liking loud noise and certain music, wearing tight clothes and dying ur hair doesn't mean ur emo/scene nor goth it could be whatever the person wearing it wants it ta be like skater, punk, rocker ect and it very well could be there own style not in some type of click just there own person

You should take care of teasing your hair and then sort of "covering it up" with a thin unteased layer of hair, so it doesn't look that messy. :) And take your time for the eye make-up.
