There is another Polish tenor - and, interestingly, pop singer (younger and obviously less accomplished, but sounding very promising) with a nice performance of Una Furtiva Lagrima on youtube (can't post a link, but it's easy enough to look up: Andrzej Lampert, Una furtiva lagrima, Toronto)
He has been helped by media but even though many times he over does Villazon has a great carisma on stage. and although it should be many times controlled his energy is something i like in an artist.
he is better than villazon adn may be than Alvarez (beczala has a more solid technique) an he is in the same level to Florez and may be with Alagna, although he lacks the apeal alagna has.
@enricodicapri more precise than flores, more intelligent than alagna. his la donna e mobile here in youtube is seamless, although his lines are more modern, perfect for puccini. He was perfect as Rodolfo in La Boheme.
Now I love Beczala, but I heard just another very promising tenor Charles Castronovo. I must say we are blessed with some really exciting youg tenors. Bravo!
Thank goodness we have such a wonderful lyric tenor at last. I hope he is not tempted into unsuitable roles because he has the most marvellous potential.

Was this recorded early in his career? He's taking his breath at alot of weird places, places that are neither in the score or taken by other tenors.

Yeah, his voice is a lot lower than both theirs, I think. More of a high baritone really. (NOT that there's anything wrong with that ;-) )

just about anyone is better than villazon. Villazon is not more than a product created by the media.
