  • The best performance of this song I have seen. Wow. He is fantastic!

  • Beautifully performed! Great voice and acting :) He put some legit emotion into this it seemed

  • Woah.. This Guy looks like Aaron Tveit and Matthew Morrison mixed together :P Great voice, great performance :)

  • Love it! =)

  • Great performance. Not too overdone and really good vocals too. Also, props to whoever shot this, I love how it zooms out to show the teacher/father. :D

  • Every time I hear this, I tear up. It has the perfect balance of humor, dramatics, and honesty that any good story should possess. Well written.

  • I am in love with Colin Hanlon. period.

    <3

  • This song is sooo well written. I am obsessed now :P At first I was like mehh this is not one of my favorite, but towards the end I was totally in love with the lyrics and music.

  • 5 people killed their classroom pets.

  • I like his interpretation the best

  • Colin Hanlon is just so talented. Even in I Love You Because...he's just so..hmm..I can't even find a word to describe his talent. He truly captures the character's emotions and portrays it so well. Someone please give this man a Broadway show!

  • His voice is beautiful for this song. And it's portrayed on such an amazing level this guy's better than the guy on broadway

  • Hi I wanted to do this song for a showcase my School is having but I can't find a Instrumental/Karaoke version of this song is there any way you can or can direct me to a place where I can get the instrumental it would be greatly appreciated

  • I absolutely love the guy in the audience who goes "oh no..." after the 'you see where this is going' at 02.21 (:

  • I think I prefer the alternate second verse (about the squirrel and such), but Colin does a great job.

  • When they make The Hangover: The Musical, this guy will be Bradley Cooper.

  • When was this performed??

  • He's hot

  • Colin Hanlon is a beautiful man.

  • am i the only who laughs a little at "what if i drop him?"

    i mean, i know it's sad, but still...i giggle...

  • Great performance, but the guy is so hot I could even watch this with the sound off.

  • As much as I adore Aaron Tveit, I actually prefer this guy.

  • Great voice, great performance, lovely song!

  • he has a great voice. but my favorite thing is that its rly like hes just telling a story and happens to be singing. its such a great balance. hes not undersinging to act or underacting to emphasize the vocals. hes fantastic!

  • @prov31princess my favorite thing is how hot he is. :p

  • He has a great voice!!!

  • Loved it!

  • He's the guy from "I Love You Because"!

  • I Love this guy!!! Who is he?!

  • colin hanlon

  • aaahhhh awesome! I keep watching this movie, I can't stop! It's so good!!! I love his acting, and his voice. Just... so good.

  • Really good! loved this version and your voice is wonderful!

  • why did people laugh? That moment to me seemed genuine and heart wrenching, not something to be laughed at.

  • i semi-agree with you. they should not have laughed at all!! however, the diction that he used on that word, made it kinda funny... but you are right.. it was the wrong time time for someone to laugh!

  • people laugh when they dont know how to react.

  • Is there a place to get the lyrics? I know the sheet music is available through the website but not the lyrics themselves.

  • I am confused as to why the version Aaron Tveit sings is different. I like that version of the song better, but this performance is excellent. He's got a great voice.

  • This is an actual performance where Aaron is singing it cabaret style. That is why the performances are vastly different

  • Also, in this version, they have the verse about the graduation, where in Aaron's version he sings a more random list about his "offenses."

    Both are great, though!

  • Also, I think the composers are still tweaking these songs. I heard one version of "Part of a Painting" from the show on the demo CD, loved it, ordered the music on-line just to discover the second verse had been changed.

  • yeah the music featured in this show isnt the exact music that appears in the current licensed edition, like coasting has been drastically changed. but only a couple of the songs have been changed

  • I prefer Aaron Tveit

  • I do as well but Colin Hanlon is great too.

  • I love you because is a musical starring Colin Hanlon (from this vid) Farah Alvin (The Marvelous Wonderettes) and Stephanie d'Abruzzo (Avenue Q) It's a fun, upbeat musical with some amazing songs!

  • Colin Hanlon = AMAZING.

  • Colin Hanlon. He's great. If you want to hear him on a more commercial recording, he's on I love You Because.

  • WOW!!!!! his voice and intent behind the song is so amazing. i hope one day, i can become as good he is!!!!

    MAN, UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love this guy!

he's amazing on the "i love you because" cd!

  • Amazing song.

    Amazing man

  • This guy is H-O-T. Seriously. yum.

  • nope

  • that was amazingg!
