  • Amen...

  • JESUS i love you cause we are not worthy of you but you chose to love us tank you LORD

  • @ OldBeef...I will take the words of Soloman to heart like I should have the first time. "Answer not a fool unto his folly, lest thou also be like him. Proverbs. Don't expect any other response from me. I do not care about your opinions. The gospel truth IS the TRUTH and God doesn't care about your opinions either because Christianity isn't a democracy. You follow God or you don't. Plain and simple.

  • @scdixiebelle I stated only facts, not opinions. God does care about my opinions on this matter because it is stated in 1 Tim. 2:4 that God "wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth". You believe in the Bible but you don't know the Bible. I don't care about my opinions concerning this matter either; people who believe in the Bible without knowing it or who deny principles it obviously teaches just annoy me.

  • zum kotzen

  • Beautiful, love the song..... I am always happy when i see young men and women SINGING FOR CHRIST.

  • @The Old Beef...You are taking James 2:24 out of context. He was talking about a person of faith doing works as well. Works will not get you into heaven though. Only faith in Jesus will..."I am the way the truth the life...no one comes to the Father except by me." From your attitude I think you can't see the forest for the trees. Get into the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and check out what Jesus said about how to treat your fellowman, and learn by HIS example.

  • @scdixiebelle Your points are stupid and at the moment I don't care about how Jesus says to treat my fellowman.

  • recently heard this song n it has touched me so much, cnt stop listening to it

  • faith alone is a filthy lie perpetrated by a filthy man named Martin Luther

  • @TheOldBeef u got issues dude.wake up n smell the truth!!!wether u belive or not that doesnt change the fact that its a FACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MsShaz1990 The truth stinks, so I follow the stench. This stench has led me to the verse, "You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only" in James 2:24. Martin Luther was a filthy vow-breaking fellow who is in large part responsible for the rapid secularization of the western world and spread of atheism. You're the one who needs to sniff out the truth. Quit smellin' the roses. The truth smells like shit.

  • This is lovely!

  • awww, he's so young!!!!

  • Go ahead, but it goes against bible teaching. James 2:24

  • Love this song with all of my heart

  • James 2

  • I had to dance to this song :) it was hard but in the end it was worth it :) he was only 13 when he sang this i think. anyway hes rlly good!

  • continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12)...And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.(Rom. 5:2)if we endure, we will also reign with Him. If we disown Him, He will also disown us;if we are faithless, He will remain faithful...(2 Tim. 2:12,13). Consider......God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in His kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. (Rom. 11:22) (see also 2 Pet. 2:2021 and Heb. 10:2629,).

  • @jillbert40 Just want to say that I hope are good enough on your own then and I am glad that I don't have to rely on my own works to get to heaven. What happens to you then if you sin and then die? You don't have hope then? Nothing can take a true believer from the Father's hand- He's too big for that.

  • The following passages show that our salvation is a continuing process which involves hope.

NIV For in this hope we were saved (Rom. 8:24). For we areamong those who are being saved (2 Cor. 2:15). how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life! (Rom. 5:10). 13his work will be shown for what it is It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. 14If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. (1 Cor. 3:1314).

  • NIV = James 2:24 24You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone.

KJV = Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

The only time faith alone even appears in the bible is in James 2:24, and thats to tell you that you are not saved by faith alone. Doesnt this lead us to believe we are saved through both faith and works?

  • I don't think so...if it were by works, then why would we ever know for sure if we are working hard enough to get to heaven (by OUR works)??? God did all the work when He sent His son, Jesus, to die for us. We work on earth for Him because we love Him and not because we have to.

  • Why argue with me? I'm only quoting the bible. Reread Romans 11:22 which states we can be cut off. To me this can only mean we are saved, but if we commit a serious sin, we can be cut off. What else can that mean? You can't cut someone off if they were never saved at some point. We are only saved if we "continue in His kindness."

  • @jillbert40 It also goes onto say that if they do not persist in nonbelief that God will graft them in. that is Romans 11:23. that verse shows that you must believe.

  • Of course we must believe too. But that certainly does not negate what I have quoted from the bible itself about our ability to be cut off.

  • @jillbert40 You're right about not arguing with you because you will always believe you NEED to work. I always will believe that I WANT to work for Him because I love Him. My salvation is secure because He paid it all and not by my works. Agree to disagree?

  • @jillbert40 : No, certainly not. Commenting on the very same episode, Paul states in Rom 4:2:

"If, in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about - but not before God."

So Paul is emphatic about the fact that Abraham was justified before God by faith. What James is discussing is a justification before men, i.e. another kind of justification than the imputation of the righteousness of Christ.

  • @thinkerj James is not discussing justification before men, you shithead. God doesn't give a damn about whether or not we are justified before men and the passage makes it clear James was talking about justification before God. Jesus criticized people for justifying themselves before men rather than before God. Get your head out of your buttocks and breathe some fresh air. God is love, love is not jealous, and God is jealous.

  • @TheOldBeef "Shithead"? Why is that those who believe in justification of works often display their "piety" by using foul language and ad hominem attacks? Sorry, but your prooftext does not say what you want. James explains that Abraham had works that made his faith manifest - and so did Rahab. Abraham was already justified before God by faith alone (Ro 4:2-3).

  • @thinkerj I don't believe in justification by works or justification by faith, and your brain is mush.

  • bt honey... think of it this way.. it is only through faith that we can do justifiable works... only if we do His will... so we stand only by God's will, through faith.

Better yet... it is both faith and works.. but faith before works, which is how i understand the song... I can only stand in Christ... if I believe that He can keep me standing =)

  • @jillbert40 Oh, and what would you consider a "serious" sin when God looks upon all sin as evil? Are you saying that you could tell a little white lie and still be in God's grace and that something worse would cause you to go to hell? I am safe and secure forever and I know that Jesus didn't just pay SOME, He paid it ALL. :-)

  • Would anyone like a link to a Fansite page for Robert?

  • Huge fan here. Been with RP since I was 11 I think...

I hope we such much more of this talented young Christian! Much success to him. His other song "Jesus" is more upbeat, but yet still as radiant.

  • On faith alone I stand........!;p

  • im in LOVE with this song! i cant stop singin it! its so mcuh fun 2 make harmony!

  • ur voice is so beatiful and i love this song its my favorite :)

  • this song is so beautiful. it tells a story :)

  • your voice is amzing!

  • This is one of the most beautiful, uplifting songs that makes me feel like I'm in heaven with the angels singing! You are so talented! I figured out how to play this on the piano and accompanied my sister as she sang this in our church.

  • the first time i heard this song i was locked up in elmore academy.......i cried this song is so powerful and one of my favorites

  • Wow amazing no other words to say! i love this song... Praise God!

  • You cannot fulfil faith alone. An act of faith is in itself an 'work' or an action, even if done in the mind. Faith alone is not biblical, or logical! Faith itself is an infused theological virtue, but again, to express it requires human action. So 'faith without works is empty' is true and biblical.

  • It's true that works will be evident when you have faith, but it is truly faith alone that saves us. We could never do enough works that would be good enough to save us. It is only through Jesus:))

  • this so beautiful

  • Robert, you sound like an angel, the music is breath taking, that castle is beautiful... what else can I say?

  • Except keep it up for Jesus! God bless!!!

  • Sorry, I pushed the wrong hand, I meant to give you a thumbs up!!

  • this song is cool

  • It's BEAUTIFUL!

  • wat does "sola fide" mean?

  • It means "by faith alone" in Latin

  • wow beautiful song i realy like this song

  • this song really touches my heart

i try 2 listen 2 his songs as much

as possible ever since they talked

    about him in my church...

  • She was not saying that it should be the ONLY source that teaches s God's Word, but Since God's WORD is THE so called "Christian Doctrine", it is only fair for us to get our information from HIS WORD (the BIBLE) and not from others. We have to be careful in what we take in apart from His word and make sure it is sound teaching! Not saying that other sources are not acceptable, just that THE BIBLE is our MAIN source. And we should be spending time in it daily! :-D I hope you understand. God Bless!

  • If JESUS is THE way and THE truth, and THE light, then this shows us that His Holy WORD should be THE teaching and out FIRST priority, and we WILL IF WE TRULY LOVE HIM!!!

I am shocked and disappointed that you would say, "No where in scripture does it preach "sola scriptura".

As Christians, we are obligated to be HONEST with ourselves. This "sola scriptura" is a COMPLETELY man-made up theology." I think 'carriemaelu' was saying that God's word should be the BASIS and FOUNDATION of our lives.

  • wow your words are strong and true

i just loved it when you said "as christians we are obligated"...

your an inspiration 2 christians that read this

  • Yea, we both know these verses. My question again is, where does it say ONLY or "sola" scripture should be used for learniing Christian doctrine?

This is a VERY important truth. No where in scripture does it preach "sola scriptura".

As Christians, we are obligated to be HONEST with ourselves. This "sola scriptura" is a COMPLETELY man-made up theology. No?

P.S. I love this song. I keep playing it over & over even though it teaches bad theology.

  • This song is absolutely gorgeous!

  • LORD JEHOVAH GREAT I AM ...Hallelujah !

  • *crys* im crying cause i saw the end of RomeoXJuliet cause it was sad when Romeo and Juliet did *still crying*

  • Robert,

I love this video! It's great! God bless!

  • Nov. 16,2008

You know, I've been looked through, backwards and forwards to find where "Sole Fide"/"scripture alone" when knowing and learning about God.

I just can't find it. I read where it says something that all of scripture is good for learning or something like that. But, it says NOTHING about "only scripture" or scripture only are we "to stand".

    Can someone help me out?

Scripture alone theology does not come from scripture. So where does it come from?

    Please enlighten me!

  • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness. That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work. (ASV)

I would empasize to you the last verse. Through following the teaching of Scripture a Christian is matured and completely prepped to be a tool for God's use. (Check out vs15 which talks about salvation.) No other source/authority is needed- Sola Scriptura!

No?

  • Here is my reasoning:

    1) To recap my first comment: If Scripture is sufficient to bring us to salvation and to teach us how to be mature Christians (clearly taught in the verses mentioned)what else is needed?

    2. Even though the words "Scripture only" aren't found in the text that doesn't mean the principle isn't taught. (Ex. We don't see the words "Holy Trinity" but can readily see the doctrine taught in the NT & supported in the OT in light of NT revelation.)

    (Cont. in next comment.)

  • 3. The Word of God is the only thing that stands forever (Isaiah 40:8). On what else would I want to base doctrine?

    4. Question: What else would you propose for a source of doctrine and why do you feel it is a valid source? Also if that source conflicted with Scripture, to which one would you give preference? Why?

  • I've been reading the writings of the early Church Fathers. I find it this history fascinating.

These guys would be the disciples of the disciples. Have you read the disciple of John the Beloved?

His name is Polycarp who was taught by the disciple John. There are many other historic fathers who were Christian during the persecution and carried on God's word after the disciples.

  • this is such a beautiful song, and he has such an amazing voice-pure and sweet! i think he means that he is putting his faith in God. And he is living through his faith in God. The bible talks a lot about having faith in God. And so he is staying in faith and not believing what the world might throw at him. He is staying in the faith he has in God. i think that you recieve grace through christ's death. but u also have faith in God. Faith is putting trust in something greater than yourself.

  • God's grace through the sacrifice of his son Jesus Christ is sufficient - and yet when we accept him his holy spirit fills our hearts to overflowing motivating us to glorify God and his son with our words and deeds and taking that message through our example and works to others.

Works will not get us to heaven alone. Grace is the answer and faith in the son brings us Grace. It is such a motivating and freeing moment when we learn the meaning of unconditional love.

  • The NT uses the word faith around 300 times. Oddly enough the only time it pairs it with the word alone is in James 2:24 and that isn't much help to faith aloners. Why is "faith alone" a major tenant of protestantism when Paul wouldn't put the words together that they so love? Yes, Luther's version paired the words together in Rom 3:28, but EVERY SINGLE protestant translation has determined it was a corruption of the text and removed it.

  • Where in the Bible does it say "sole fide" i.e. "faith alone"? Answer it doesn't. Oh well, actually it does but it is James 2:24. Not much help for protestants who hold to this false doctrine. Grace alone is a far better way of looking at things. Grace produces faith and grace produces works. In the end we will be judged by our works done in faith. See Rom 2:4-9, Matt 25, John 15, etc.

  • In Cor. it talks about how we walk by faith not by sight. Also, if someone truly believs, their actions will have no other choice to show what they say they believe. I always say don't listen so much to what people say but pay very close attention to what they do!

If they believe then their actions will reflect so. THe lyrics in this song are VERY true. Beautiful!!

  • Oh my Gosshh.....I felt inspired to watch Jesuscamp on DVD after hearing this. It makes me so proud to be a straight, born again republican Christian. Oh Glory!!

  • Beautiful song coming from one so young. God bless you in your singing praises to Him so you may continue blessing others with that amazing voice you have.

  • Man, can this song sounds so beautiful. The lyrics are very untrue but, with that voice, I still like to play this song over and over again.

James 2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

... 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

Not to mention baptism and consuming the Body of Our Creator and God, Jesus Christ.

  • I would agree with every word you just said.

  • im crying really hard from this called Fruit basket episode 15 at the end and i can't stop breathing and i can't stop crying but this song makes me calm

  • Robert, as many times as I've heard this song, every time I listen to it I am touched by it. It is just so beautiful and the meaning of the song to me cannot be expressed in words. May God bless you!~

  • amazing

  • hey i got to meet you robert!

    you are amazing! ily!

  • rosario josue 407-802-9762 call

  • You have a great singing voice. I liked the song. 5***** God bless you.

    ~joeXcel

  • Omg amazing!I love your voice!

  • Robert is 15. God bless Robert!

  • HOW OLD ARE YOU?? I can't really tell.... i love this song. i don't even know you and i've never heard this song but i started crying! Wow if a song can have an emotional effect on me then it's amazing! :) You GO!

  • great melody

  • Robert i love your voice and whenever i hear you sing this song it makes me wanna cry.

  • You have a great voice!

  • so if it is not faith alone... how would you biblically explain salvation?

  • I believe that we are justified by grace through faith and works, but that we have no assurance of salvation. In James 2, James says that faith without works is dead and that we are justified by works and not by faith alone. That is the only time that faith alone is in the bible and it's presented in a negative context.

  • This is a somewhat incorrect interpretation of the sola fide doctrine. Sola fide states that good works flow through a living faith. A faith that is devoid of good works is a dead faith. On the other hand those that do good works in the hope of buying passage to salvation are sadly misguided also.

  • I would agree that you can't buy your way into heaven.

Wow you said it yourself. "A faith that is devoid of good works is dead faith" You just said right there that one needs both faith and works, not just faith. How can you say that you are saved by faith alone when you just put gook works into the equation. That would mean that you are not saved by faith alone. Something isn't alone if you have something else with it. That would mean if you put works in with faith, then its not faith alone.

  • True, however I think that what the Bible is saying is that your good works is part of your faith. If you say you have faith, but don't show good works then you have dead faith. If your faith is shown by good works, then it is truly faith. Your good deeds and your trust in God is what makes your faith. You may disagree, but that's how I see it.

  • i love this song!!!

  • amazing!

    Praise the Lord!!

  • OMJ, that's really beautiful!!^_^

  • I love the song

  • I love this song it made me cry :-(

  • Youre great:)

  • Omg you are really good =D

  • The song is sung beautifully! The topic of Faith Alone(Sola Fide)is a touchy subject in Grace with Catholic Christians and reinforced by the line of "no in what I say or do". Regardless we believe in one God the Father Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth!

  • i was thinking the same thing. u have an awesome voice and it's great that you are sharing ur gift with others. i love the music and the melody of the song, i believe in faith along with good works. keep singing.

  • Faith alone. Read Galatians chapter 1. Faith alone but when true saving faith takes place, it changes your heart and you will want to obey and do good works but not to be saved, rather out of a thankful heart

  • As an atheist and pianist, I think this song is cool. I would take my niece to see him. After a few viewings Ive got the piano down...although I dont dare try to sing it. Like Billy Gilman he will have to take a break...then come back a couple octaves down. God Bless all who believe.

  • That was so sweet! But some parts of the video where kinda lame.
