Originally, Don Knotts read for the pilot of Super Chicken (one produced years before the show was sold, and it was unfinished as a pilot at that. When a second pilot was commissioned, Bill Scott was chosen to play Super Chicken, but did more of an impersonation of Jim Bacus (in his role from Gilligans Island). But when the show finally aired, Bill Scott did an approximation of Don Knotts's version of Super Chicken.
