Japanese breeders interbred wild Indonesian Longfin river carp with traditional koi, and the resulting fish came out with long tails and fins. They arn't popular with breeders in Asia and Europe, but in the USA you can buy them from breeders :)

Do you know how long it takes for them to get big, I've had a little female for 2 years and shes still only 4 inches

Are these koi for sale? If yes then i want to buy that golden butterfly koi. What is the price for that koi? If not then how much did spent for that Koi when buying and where did u bought that koi from?? I really want to see that koi in my pond.

omg...that fish is effing beautiful! I want one...now. I wouldn't be able to take care of it though...I'll wait until I'm uber rich and can have an entire wall as an aquarium (I don't think they actually exist, as the practicality of them is a bit...off. But I can dream)
