Decades of social conditioning,through education and the media, have made us accustomed to our condition and have deprived us from the will to change. Of course I don't think that all this was necessarily premeditated by some global elite. I'd say that the problem is rather embedded in society itself since it artificially conditions us in ways that prevent us from ever seing the truth.
