  • Fantastic shots here Martyn. I was impressed with the shots at Whiteball, Dawlish and Dainton. Hopefully, I'll be seeing 71000 on the Torbay Express. It'll be great to see her for real - one of the few locos that I've never seen.

  • Absolutely superb record of the salient events that day. I was in the 'Duke's' support coach and the incidents on Dainton made me cringe.

    Hugh.

  • Its very good how you can get to places by car within a few places to get mainline engines, were as with me its by cycle (or by train) depending on were to go.

  • shame yestaday what happend :(

  • awesome video. I love those old steam engines and the duke is one off my favorites

  • Another superb selection of shots Martyn. Despite the problems 71000 still displayed what a powerful beast she is. We had a breathtaking run back from Plymouth and in particular from Exeter to Bristol.

  • i wouldent be supprised it was gone in a second after you went though newton abbot (have a look at my video)

  • Thanks for your comment mate.I agree that despite the problems encountered, the Duke put in a storming performance.I am glad you enjoyed your day.

  • yeah plus that royal peace of useless crap!

  • Plus the dead skip too.....

  • Good Shooting Guys. On Dainton, I'm amazed how fast the wheels were spinning.

  • and also it could of the crew aswell and the weight of the coaches

  • I've never seen the Duke struggle up a bank so badly! I had a bad feeling she nearly woulda ended up like Blue Peter in 1994

  • yeah but remember she stoped at newton abbot that could be why
