I have ridden horses for 17 years and the only time I ever see a horse buck the way these broncos do is when they are in pain, or very frightened and trying to defend themselves (for ex, from an attacker!). Bucking like this isn't a joyful behaviour. If these horses weren't frightened or in pain, they would not buck like that. You should know that from being a rider yourself.

I was lucky to ride a few barebacks in the late sixties. Never had to shock one out never had slap any horse around. Never heard all this bad language never had to hide a thing. Thirty years later rodeos going to the dogs. No tickets for me, I'll pass.

Completely uncalled for. Just because this horse knows that with the bucking strap pulled, if it moves, it will be more uncomfortable- and doesn't WANT to move- the men kick it in the face, twist its ears, and smack it repetitively. These are not men- they're cowards.

@Inoryuki There is no quick fix when it comes to stopping animal abuse. In too many states, rodeo is exempt from cruelty laws which makes animal abuse legal in rodeo arenas. Bringing the abuse to the public's attention is important in order to raise awareness toward bringing changes to laws.

I'm not saying this stuff shouldn't be addressed and punished but you do know that most rodeos (the ones I've gone to around my area) use flank cinches that tickle the horse to make it buck? My friend's uncle runs a rodeo and he loves horses and makes sure the horses in his rodeo are not 'abused into bucking'. They all have flank cinches on.

@WVMale83 The problem is archaic laws on the books in many states specfically exempt rodeo animals from cruelty protection. They know they can get away with harming these animals, so they do what they want. Our videos are to raise awareness that people need to contact their state reps and get these laws changed to protect all animals.

I barrel race, and I think this is wrong. I do use a whip when I barrel race, but when you have a crazy barrel horse I think its understanable. But, this horse obviously isnt a bucking horse, if it didnt want to buck. I do not beat my horse, and I love him to death, I have no clue what I would do without him. But kicking and slapping a horse in the face because it doesnt want to buck, is wrong. I would seriously curse this person out if I saw this in person.

Actually bucking horses are born to buck..their pedigree with bucking horses give them the will to want to do it. This horse just didnt want to do it today...did they take a board out and beat it? @Ninjasaurus321 We answered your PM, but we'll say again here, we haven't seen abuse in barrel racing, and mostly that's because those horses are privately owned/leased and cared for by the rider, as opposed to bucking stock which is, by and large, expendable to stock contractors as they're always breeding to produce more animals. The people who ride in bucking events have no vested interest in the welfare of the animals beneath them.

Completely uncalled for. Just because this horse knows that with the bucking strap pulled, if it moves, it will be more uncomfortable- and doesn't WANT to move- the men kick it in the face, twist its ears, and smack it repetitively. These are not men- they're cowards.

@Inoryuki There is no quick fix when it comes to stopping animal abuse. In too many states, rodeo is exempt from cruelty laws which makes animal abuse legal in rodeo arenas. Bringing the abuse to the public's attention is important in order to raise awareness toward bringing changes to laws.

I'm not saying this stuff shouldn't be addressed and punished but you do know that most rodeos (the ones I've gone to around my area) use flank cinches that tickle the horse to make it buck? My friend's uncle runs a rodeo and he loves horses and makes sure the horses in his rodeo are not 'abused into bucking'. They all have flank cinches on.

They know they can get away with harming these animals, so they do what they want. I barrel race, and I think this is wrong. I do use a whip when I barrel race, but when you have a crazy barrel horse I think its understanable. But, this horse obviously isnt a bucking horse, if it didnt want to buck. I do not beat my horse, and I love him to death, I have no clue what I would do without him. But kicking and slapping a horse in the face because it doesnt want to buck, is wrong. I would seriously curse this person out if I saw this in person.

@Ninjasaurus321 We answered your PM, but we'll say again here, we haven't seen abuse in barrel racing, and mostly that's because those horses are privately owned/leased and cared for by the rider, as opposed to bucking stock which is, by and large, expendable to stock contractors as they're always breeding to produce more animals. The people who ride in bucking events have no vested interest in the welfare of the animals beneath them.
