  • to that woman who will never know......

  • OFF SOMETHING/ANYTHING CLASSIC LP CLASSIC SONG. TODD PLAYS ALL INSTRAMENTS ON 3 SIDES OF THE DOUBLE DISC

  • the 70"s was the last decade of real freedom, people where nicer to each other, more trust, inflation rates where just starting, homes and cars where alot more affordable.then came the 80"s the decade of greed, drugs cameras for watching and tracking people.kids did not carry guns, now we see on the news every day about people killing others..sooo sad.

  • I keep on mistaking Todd Rundgren for Dolph Lundgren.

  • I treasure this song. It can take me back even more quickly than a photograph ever could. I will love it and will keep it close as long as I'm around. From the summer of love to the mid seventies I crossed into my teen years. I look back with warmth and fondness and I'm truly grateful to have experienced it. This was a big part of that time for me.

  • Thanks. Loved this song since I first heard it in the 70s.

  • MY HAT HAS ALWAYS BEEN OFF TO YOU, MR. TODD RUNDGREN -- THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS FROM THE '70s. I'M ALMOST TURNING 50 YRS OLD SO I GREW UP LISTENING TO THIS MUSIC. BRINGS BACK GREAT MEMORIES!!! GREAT MUSIC!

  • i loved this song since I was a kid, as much as people bash the 70's, to me it's the best era of songwriting period! and it's all in analog, I still haven't heard anything in digital that sounds as warm as tape!

  • I may not have been born when this was being produced, but at least I live in a generation where I can access all of these classics, so easily, in one place :>

    This music will never die.

  • the last episode of 70's show, makes me cry

  • He played at the South Street Seaport in the 70's and I'll never forget the energy and the music. The river was his backdrop and it was just awesome! Living in the city in the 70's holds some of the best memories I have..the concerts, the Village clubs, the vibe..priceless.

  • Great song! Brings back the good old days!

  • This songs is for me and the girl I'll make my wife Karen Andrea Peyton! I can't wait for her to take my surname!

  • What exceptional lyrics and beautiful music. Todd Rundgren was and is a truly talented man.

  • 16 people don't know what music is if it bit them in the ass!

  • Always liked this song. Really takes me back in time and makes me wonder...WTF did 40 years go?

  • makes me weep every time!..

  • Ohh and btw.. THANK YOU!!!! Love hearing these songs :)

  • OMG I wish like hell we could find musicians who would actually play music you could listen to and understand again!! I MISS this music!!!

  • im 12 and im sorry about the music in 2012 :(

  • @CmPunkBITW1514 I forgive you. You're only human ^_^

  • @CmPunkBITW1514 From an old guy, hey 12 year old CmPunkBITW1514, yeah it's a bit of a sorry mess, now there's some good soulful music out there, the problem is it's covered in a pile of garbage a mile high, so you have to dig really deep. In our day, the 60's-70's, even the garbage didn't stink so bad, and you didn't have to dig very deep..., the Musical Gold just lingered on the surface for everyone...,tons of Pure Musicial Gold from England & the U.S. right inside those album covers..stay cool

  • @CmPunkBITW1514

Just when I swear I've given up hope on todays youth I read something like this and it restores my faith. And no need to apologize, as mentioned there is some good modern music, you just have to search off the radio to find most of it.

  • This is one of those songs that makes you so grateful that you were alive at thast time!

  • Two very impressive facts about Todd Rundgren....

1.He was the guitarist on Meat Loaf's Classic Song "Bat Out Of Hell"

2.He was the person who convinced Warner Bros to sign Prince.

As they say "The rest is History".

  • @AnnaAnnaYes I WAS BORN 1970 I CAN SEE THIS MAN WAS BERORE HIS TIME TELL ME SOMETHING HOW DID YOU LEARNED THAT HE CONVINCED WARNER BROS. TO SIGN PRINCE ?

  • @kim123792 I still have the old Rolling Stone issue with the interview in it

Mr Rundgren caught several shows of Prince during his club days

    in Minneapolis.

  • damn that bass has got me hooked

  • This is soooooooo sad fuck -_-

  • Loved the music. HATED the bell bottoms

  • 16 people have shit in there ears i guess. great song !

  • ooh the memories

  • i agree with what is pretty much being said by all;these songs from the 70s reminds me of being a kid in a candy store.

  • oh wow i still remember my bell bottoms which r then called am bell..the 70s songs r great

  • TODD UR GREAT !!!!

  • OMG ... LOVE THE UPLOADER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn u that 70s show episode 1 season 1. yes, im a fan

  • TODD...PRIDE OF UPPER DARBY HIGH DELCO PA............

  • They say the music from the time your 16 to 24 imprints itself on the brain in a unique way that is tied into the emotions - This transports me back to the mid-70s

  • @spectres0024

    Well said! Love it.

  • I was in the 8th Grade Catholic Church in Buffalo, NY when I heard this song. It was soothing!!!!!!

  • @starlost1957 No wonder you're such a homophobe, lmfao.

  • That 70s show brought me here, glad it did

  • wow! I was 9yrs when this song came out, my mom use to play it all the time......still love this song, one of the greats for sure!

  • Groovy dude..lol!

  • why wasnt i alive in the 70's....

  • @TheSprayCan02 You can get back to the attitude of the 70s at least. This is my second favorite Rungren tune. I Saw the Light is my favorite-and Can We Still be Friends is a good song. And you are right: the music was better back then, but I can't say why. People are no better or different today compared to back then, but for the time period and culture. I guess that's what makes the difference.

  • I was so silly in the 70's I got bleach and striped my wide bell bottoms and thought it was just so cool and groovey not to mentiion the 3 in. funky pump shoes like Bobby wore in the saturday night live move. Very cool stuff. Nice song .

  • WRKO in the day. Great Music

  • @bob35430 in your terms great song I love it !

  • Great music 67-91 and that is it!. I feel sorry for todays generation who will never be able to see the greats live. How sad : (

  • ew

  • love it......

  • I still listen to this song in 2012 on my Itouch! Todd is awesome! I can't stand music today. The 70's had awesome soft rock songs.

  • I still dream of our time together

  • Anybody remember when TR played this tune with a group called "Nazz"? I think he was 16 then

  • Great tune, great times

  • "I want you back so much Terri...Give me another chance."--that sums this song up for me 73-74.

  • Iconic 70s song - Some songs can summon up the feelings you had back then -

  • I will always relate this song to going back to college in South Carolina for the Fall Semester, 1972 through 1976. This and "Meadows" by Joe Walsh and Barnstorm...

  • College. Pass pinochle. The bong. 1974. Reel to reel. The most beautiful women. The best people and times of my life. Thank you, Todd Rundgren.

  • aww this is a good song !! Hello its me !! aww good memories... :)

  • love this song

  • This is one of the best songs from the 70's, but ther are so many. I was a teenager and the music was so great, it was just part of your life. Great memories!

  • i dont give a fuck, i rolled threw the hood bangin this and believe it or not everyone was asking who it was! the people still want real music, this shit today is being forced upon them.

  • @JustGod7 People who Love music recognize Great music when they here it !!!

  • Still makes me smile....this song was a long time ago.

  • #608

  • Gets NO better.. proud to be a fan...!!

  • This is one of if not my favorite song of all times. I loved it the first time I heard it, and still turn up the radio when it comes on. Fantastic.

  • @akanawha Same here. ABSOLUTELY!!

  • I hear these songs it brings floods of memories of my Father oh how I miss him so much groups like America and Jim Croce so many can't name them all!

  • @lissyrcz Your Father had great taste in music !

  • it is true, it relates to me as well. This song just gets you thinking about certain things that you never thought about before.

  • Oh how I wish I lived in the 70's. But noooo I just had to be born in the 90's. On the upside though, I'm young and ready to discover and enjoy my generation. Oh who am I kidding the 2010's suck --___--

  • @PalabraDeVida1993 hey at least these songs relate to you in a way no one else can understand I think its awesome you r so tuned in

thanks the 70's was great but the future is gonna be brighter still....... look up always look up

  • @PalabraDeVida1993 you couldn't be more wrong. the 2010's are the best time in history.

  • @chatzimcfee ...bring on the 20's...

  • OH the pain of being a dorky tomboy who loved an "older man"....

I wrote down some of these lyrics and sent them to him...it still makes me cringe..LOL.

Hey...least I had the guts to do it..........yes, I"ll keep telling myself this...:o)

  • @MissSusieQue1 Better then a married man , wish i had a dorky boy friend at the time .......

  • I will always treasure this song!

  • my old room, with the radio playing, I can just see that plushy carpet and the view over the backyard.

  • Wow, this is a sexy song- makes me kinda want to go out and find that soul mate who keeps alluding me ; )

  • HEY KBDEVO1962... I CAN SAY IT IN LESS THAN A 1/2 HOUR.... GREAT SONG !!!!!! LOL.....(NO OFFFENCE !!)

  • The striped bell-bottom trousers, the platform shoes, the afro hairdo, flower power, disco, the psychedelic coloured shirts, the make love not war sign...I really do miss the 70's. MY SEVENTIES!!!

  • Nicely done Todd...

  • I'm really jealous of the people being a teenager in the 70's good spirit everywhere while listening to Led Zeppelin, Rolling stones, todd rundgren, black sabbath, kiss, Pink floyd, Aerosmith, David Bowie.. oh hell at least they keep on rocking now aswell, I'm gonna see black sabbath this summer :)

  • We were so privileged to experience the 70's. Where the hell are my bell bottoms?

  • @avdad2000 too funny! and I agree...

  • @avdad2000 - thank you for your humble comment here; you sum it up nicely.

i think you left your bell-bottoms with your sandals

  • @avdad2000 Privileged does not come close. They talk about the 60's,80's and beyond....but the 70's had meaning and baby boomers rocked......young people....I am glad your Mum played this all the time

  • @avdad2000 Hey, Hey!!!!

  • @avdad2000 As I recall, my favorite bell bottoms were white and had red and blue stars on them, lol...

  • @avdad2000 So many GREAT memories of growing up in the 70's. Most of them are orange.

  • Great song, genius singer.

  • Did she acually do a dna test???

  • I really think Liv Tyler ,looks more like him than Steven Tyler,, Anyway thats my opinion..

  • @60srecords me too. u can see it most clearly in her face in Lord of the Rings

  • A true...a wizard

  • Probably one of the most under-rated rock performers and producers of all time...his Utopia's "RA" was absolutely fantastic.

  • You can never go back-how disappointing that is. I can't even describe how bad I would like to go back to the 70's.

  • Where is that time machine?

  • I'm in love with Todd Rundgren, need I say more?

  • Sweet!!!

  • I bought the Nazz red album in the summer of 1969 when I was fifteen. My best friend and I must have listened to this song a thousand times. Brought back so many good memories hearing it again on the 70's show the other night. Wasn't the premier episode great!

  • 1st concert I went to and he didn't sing this song!! I was so bummed out ...Sp many years ago glad I found it on here tonight where has the time gone???

  • I love this song. Its about choices. We'll do whatever as long as we do it together, only if you want too.

  • that 70's show brought me here. :-)

  • oooooh baby this is my shit yea !

  • @Bronzzilady wtf

  • This song is awesome!!!!! :)

  • If one more person mentions That 70's Show I'm going to throw a pet rock at my monitor.

  • This song could very well epitomize the early 70's. Heck, it was chosen by the producers of That 70's Show as a focal background and fairwell song...

  • Oh, thats right ,once, of was 18

  • I agree!! This is one of the best songs ever......

  • One of the best songs ever!!!

  • I believe the little girl in the photos is Liv Tyler (Steven Tylers daughter), Her mother and her left Steve and Todd raise Liv Tyler. Check it out!

  • yes... i think you should.

  • Musical Genius.

  • one of my all time favorite songs...

  • God bless this song

  • This just melts me. Makes me remember a beautiful ex-lover. Mmmm

  • Todds the man....

  • Jr.High 71-72

  • Brings back such good good memories :D

  • just thinking about the generations that never saw the 70's...so sad.....

  • @drewmaxon I was born in the 1980s, and I love the 70s. My parents are baby boomers and they absolutely cherish the 70s and always will. I don't think they've ever gotten over the 70s being over, it was just that great.

  • @drewmaxon Really, I know...I am grateful some modern techie saw fit to create "you tube" so we can hear these old songs and see the performances. It is much more satisfying than google, facebook, etc.; like being able to choose a big chocolaty brownie over a soda cracker...

  • @drewmaxon sadder still to be here

  • Cars , Cars, Muscle Cars , Fast Cars , And Girls ! Oh My God , That was ALL I thought about back then . Still do , Just not as much ! High school went by in a blur Most of it was with the smell of burnt rubber and a smoke show that would piss of smokey the Bear ! And lets not for get the sound ! Simple tricks like turning the lid of an air cleaner upside down , your first set of headers , And a pair of cherry Bombs . A set of Cheater slicks and it's off to the stop lights ! Love this !

  • @kbdevo1962 A man after my own heart! I hate to sound like such a motorhead, but yes, tuning my '68 big block Camaro, street racing, and chasing chicks was the thing for me, too back in the mid 70s. One of the best babes I ever had, Vanessa, was a Todd Rundgren freak. I always associate her and going to the drag races with this particular song.

  • @kbdevo1962 By contrast, I went through my entire high school career not knowing what a bong was. I kept hearing this word "bong" and I was baffled as to what people were talking about.

  • THAT 70'S SHOW

  • @bulldogsfan1993: FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • great music

  • nice mellow beautiful tune

  • love todd.

  • thank got for grayhound she's gone lol

  • Reminds me of That 70's Show, The Virgin Suicides and most importantly (to me) the girl I recently fell for that has just basically left my life forever, as she's just up and moving to an opposite coast with her new boyfriend this week. It's music like this that helps me to cope with it and begin to move on.

  • @jkallboys its one of those songs u listen 2 on a sunday night wen ur ridin near the beach at 9.oclock perfect time 2 listen 2 it

  • love it!!! thank you.xx

  • i just heard this song on that 70's show. so beautiful.

  • the BEST cry song ever written! what a beautiful era of music!

  • EXCUSE ME PLEASE, BUT I FEEL LIKE CRYING TOO!!! I WAS 15 WHEN I FIRST LISTENED TO THIS SONG AND I CAN´T HELP FEELING THIS WAY....BRAVO TO THE GOOD OLD MEMORIES!!!!

  • You are excused to cry during this song. This song and sound is that powerful.

  • I feel in love and cried to this song when they played this during that 70s show finale when the cast said their final goodbyes and bows it was sad mila kunis and laura prepon made me cry I love that show

  • @cameronjackson37 My sentiments exactly. I think about that 70's show whenever I hear this song now.

  • OMG what a beautiful sound of the 70's. Completely captures the easy feel of the time. You stand this against the shit of today and it only serves to highlight what drivel we have to put up with now.

    Musicianship, recording, feel, heart

    I feel like crying!!

  • @roquefortfiles omg...fkn ditto

  • at six foot, six inches tall, Todd must be a sight to see. the bass is tight. big ups from a Cleveland, Ohio kid. what a beautiful song. lyrics and all.

  • Love it

  • This is music

  • This will always be my all-time favorite no 1 in past and future

  • The best music ever- feeling... craftsmanship...soul.....not the whiney little bastards of today with their auto- tuners and shitty attitudes. Punks ! : )

  • And spend the night if u think I shud

  • @coreyj98 omg i love it

  • that 70s show

  • This song hits my Heart Hard! I love you James.....

  • No one writes songs like this anymore.....WHAT A GEM!

  • Everything I would say in a great love song... =(

  • Flared hip-huggers, tube tops, tube socks, toe socks, Farrah Fawcett haircuts, curling irons, hand-held blow-dryers (FINALLY), microwaves, Mach 5's, Transams with flames on the hood, high school lockers (NO backpacks), 8-track cassettes, fully-carpeted Chevy vans with curtains on the windows...lol, VWs, black-light posters, short-sheeting, "maxi" dresses, square-heeled shoes, non-iron clothing (POLYESTER), Gilda Radner, the Coneheads, All in the Family...wow, I could go on and on...memories...

  • @mylittlebugaboo I remember that stuff all too well!!!! Those were a carefree, worriless time. I was 12 at the time. remember nothing but great times then.

  • @mylittlebugaboo Indeed the fabulous times!
