@scrillah81 - depends on the model of trike... and the rider of course... but generally trikes are maybe faster than a mountain bike and slower than a road bike. On a dowhill however the added weight of the trike and the aero position helps a lot and they can be faster than some other bikes. I have hit 45 mph down a 10% grade that was about half a mile long. Going uphill is slow, but because of all the gearing you can make it... even stop on a hill, rest and then go again. ;-)
Maybe it is just me but at around 1:17 to 1:19 your wheels seem to have quite a lot of toe out, is this normal for trikes or is it just your preference??
I am hoping to buy either a ICE Sprint 3fs or a TT Tour and bike 6,270 miles round trip from Montreal, Quebec to San Diego to propose to my girlfriend but with the prices and the amount of accessories available that I have found I am right now leaning towards the TT Tour.
@SleeplessCDN - no... there is no toe out (maybe + or - 1/8" if anything), it is the super-wide angle lens of the camera that is distorting the image. ;-)
What a fun idea you have for the ride! have you ever done a long tour ride? When you get to Southern California ... you gotta get in touch with me so I can ride with you. I am in Orange County California.
@dregerclock Swap trikes with Carlton and Jerome once in a while and you'll know. I've organised a couple of trike events and a substantial part of the meeting is try out someone elses trike. A few hundred yards is enough to return it safely to it's owner.
@hauserkaspar - yeah, I will have to do that next time. Don't know why we don't think of that.. .we just ride our own trikes and love it. ;-) Would love to give Carlton's catrike 700 a spin! I will mention that next time we meet for a ride! ;-)
@dregerclock Take a strech of road without traffic and pedal other trikes up and down. Is all the thing you need to call it a trike event.
Tommorow I'm gonna build paper planets ( flat) and sun is 20 mtrs, Mercurius 1 cm, Venus 2 etc. And get them out of my bag at the right distance. That will give my trike event through noting but forest an extra interesting idea. I love cycling but just a ride aint good enough for me. Place dinosaur in a timeline and same trip. Who needs a pirateship?
hello, what would be the speeds going down thiss hill ?

Do these trikes go pretty fast? Can they go as fast as a regular 2 wheel bike?

What do you think? Are those 700 wheels faster on the flats? They look cool.
hauserkaspar 1 year ago
@hauserkaspar - I have no idea... I have never ridden one. I think it still depends more on the motor (the cyclist) than the wheel.
