  • Now that the military does a lot of close range fighting indoors and in towns, I wonder if there will be any gun innovations for better accuracy at short range.

  • could an ar take down a hog

  • @snowflake0388 people use ars for hogs all the time, great piggy killer

  • How cheap can u get .223 ammunition in usa? Here in norway, you will not be able to get any cheaper then about 5-6 NOK, about 1 dollar per round.

  • @skillcapeemoteplz About 5 dollars for a box of 20 rounds :)

  • @skillcapeemoteplz you can get 5.45 here for 13 cents a round

  • @musicalgunnut45 its like putting a boby pin into that hole with the reset button inside of it,use a bullet or a nail or spair firing pin, anything that will fit inside the hole in the bullet button

  • L button

  • @musicalgunnut45 there is a release sized shell sticking out from the reciever 1/8th in more than a release button and you have to either perform a take down and load the clip like you would a bolt rifle or stick a sharp object into the shell to make contact with and press down the actua

  • Your lucky,I live in california where I can't even get a release button on my m4

  • @mikethemaniac1 I've always wondered how that worked how do you get the magazine out?

  • i have that target problem with my mosin, i shoot at the targets, and i thought i wasnt hitting anything, and i thought the gun was a piece or inaccurate shit, but upon closer inspection, i was going right through the targets with so little resistance, i couldnt knock the bowling pins off their pedestal!

  • @Dmajorproductions thts cuz they shoot at about three thousand ft per sec

  • do you prefer this over the collabsible stock 16 inch barrel model? im torn...

  • 5.56x45mm (.223) isn't very big but it's a nasty little bugger when passing through the human body.

  • The first mass produced M16 made before 1970 is a genuine piece of crap, the M16s made after 1970 are good, the A2 is the best version of it IMO. Ergonomics, accuracy, large amounts of ammo can be carried by the shooter himself, lightweight, bolt ends in open position are what I like about this rifle. I'm not a fan of .223 or 5.56mm though.

  • @oeyesea The A1 model was better by far than the original M16.

  • Hickok, I believe this rifle is an A1 with forward assist. Rear sight is not an A2 type...handguard appears to be round A2 but the stock also appears to be A1 vintage. Here is a link to a picture of an A2 upper receiver.

    Nice rifle either way.

  • @bayareanational i think you are right i believe it is an A1 withe and A2 forend

  • Have you ever thought about putting a M16A1 Vietnam war style triangular fore grip on it?

  • Can you get the thunder .50 bmg handgun & make a video of it please...

  • LOL dont tell the ATF i have a grenade hahahaha

  • he just fucking iron sighted what 230 yards or better? damn not a rifle man? lmfao this guy is awesome

  • Where do you get all the bowling pins?

  • This was the video that inspired me to finally get an Ar-15 well (dpms A-15)

  • Bought my pre-ban Sporter Target model nib over 20 yrs ago. It still looks new despite the number of rounds through it. If I take it to a gun show I have to beat off the people who want to buy it. It is a great rifle, capable of hitting targets at 500 meters with iron sights. I notice yours has A1 rear sights.

  • i like your vids thanks dude

  • California is a nice place in some parts but if it means i cant bring my firearms over there forget about it

  • I always wonder "Why are politicians thinking?!". I wonder who it was who said "Nahh, you dont need a cleaning kit" What in the world made them think that? And then nobody said anything about it

  • I may be wrong, but I think the flat sides with the SP1 upper are all A1s. I could be wrong! I have been before.

Love your videos, by the way! What state are you in? I'm in Oklahoma. Great gun state!!!

  • i wanna get an mr223 or any other ar-15 style rifle with the better gas system i think its the perfect weapon

    sucks i live in nyc

  • what is the difference between the AR-15 and M-16?

  • @141827099 the AR-15 are the single shot civilian version of the full auto M-16

  • @rammsteinlover1337 ok, but uses the same ammo? have the same scope? THANKS

  • @141827099 there are two versions of the m16, m4 rifles the military 5.56x45 and the civilian .223. im not sure but u can shot a .223 in a 556x45 but its not that great, but u cant shot a 556x45 in a .223. U can buy both of them yhe sights should be the same as I said the major difference is the fire selector

    thanks

  • @rammsteinlover1337 ok! thank you very much! I thought they used the same ammunition. and schemes are much like the truth! I acknowledge that only the AR-15 is shorter, but M4 too! thank you very much!

  • Thats not an A2. You have a old COLT style SP1 Lower, The uppers is a M16 A1 Upper. The A2 upper had the shell deflector and different rear sights.

  • You and John deserves a lot of credit for all the time you put into making all these videos.

  • What is the Forward assit actually for?

  • @DemonicWeapons

the forward assist basically is a button you push which drives the bolt forward if you have a bullet not wanting to chamber push the button and the bolt will seat properly and the bullet will be ready to fire

  • @DemonicWeapons

A way to take a gun with problems and give it a few more.

If the bolt isn't seating, something's wrong. Ramming it into the chamber probably isn't going to help.

  • What do you think of the Armalite M4? I have an M4C, is that a pretty quality ar-15?

  • lol cause we all know the bayonet is the most dangerous part of the gun, you have a weapon that shoots lead projectiles but you cant put a 5in knife on the end of it because its so much more dangerous that the bullets lol, the stupidity of the people that make firearm regulations

  • esse sim e o verdadeiro senhor das armas!!

  • Would have been nice to see the first one or two impacts on the salt block.

    But you pulverized it. ^^

  • You say your not a rifleman hickok but your videos say otherwise. thanks for the vids i just wish california wasnt so... craptacular with guns

  • Are you sure its an a2 that looks like an a1 reciever/ pistol grip, almost looks like an sp1 only without the triangle grips

  • my favorite rifle right their great video :)

  • that looks more like a AR-15 A1

  • u need to get a tommy gun!!!

  • Hi Again Hickok ! I am mostly a handgun guy as well, but with low interest rates at the bank I have began to invest in some long guns. I am in need of another gun safe. Do you have a particular safe you reccomend for both theft and fire resistance ? I realise that a determined thief is impossible to stop, but I would like to make things as difficult as possible. Thanks for sharing and for your time.

  • I love my AR 15 A2

  • A1 upper on an "A2?"

  • @HPG45 That is how Colt made them in the 80s. Apparently they had a lot of old upper receiver billets to use up.

  • @Gostwriterindisguise Ahhh, thanks for clarifying that.

  • How much does a decent ar15 cost?

  • @MegaSpongebob94

    $700-$3000.

DPMS, Olympic Arms, Hesse/Vulcan/Blackthorne and generic kit guns are to be avoided.

  • @PulletSurprise

Thanks i was thinking of getting a bushmaster. I saw one at gander mountain for 1000

  • @MegaSpongebob94

That's about $150 too much for a Bushmaster. You can find as good for less and better for the same price.

If you want you can message me and I'll help you find a local deal or walk you through a purchase from an online dealer.

  • @PulletSurprise

I would but I am only 17 and my dad would have to use my money to buy it. Plus my dad says he wants me to get a job first so it will be at least 3-4 months before i even start seriously looking at one.

  • nice car

  • Ha ha ha, smell like victory.

  • love it!!

  • Just for reference, the upper on that rifle is an A1 upper. The early colts from the transitional period came with A2 furniture and a variety of uppers, including the A1 like that one.

  • my brother bought a springfield m-15S, with a custom upper i am assuming is made from a civilian manufacturer, but it still has the all important bayonet lug.

we have no bayonet, or any animals big enough to use it on in california.

  • it would be awesome if you had a Gail Assault Rifle

  • i like this guy he's friendly

  • Excellent aiming!

  • Wow, very nice. Your accuracy is amazing, i couldn't make out the gong in the far distance, i actually thought you were shooting at the closer one. Love your vids Hickock, the power and accuracy of the guns never ceases to amaze me.

  • Not too bad f'ng marksmanship if you ask me. Nice shooting.

  • great videos man. very enjoyable to watch. keep 'em coming!

  • i notice that you shot your ar-15 a2 until the barrel smoked. when i went to basic training we shot up to 90 rounds in our m16 a2s and they never smoked, and neither did our automatic weapons like the 240b and the 249 saw. i was wondering if that might have anything to do with the type of gun oil or any other type of cleaning soloution. thank your for reading this and i look forward to a response

  • @metalistR1 , I just had a little too much lube on the barrel.

  • @hickok45 oh thanks much lol

  • @hickok45 Ain't that lubes gonna over heat the barrel?

  • @hickok45

Yo hickok I've noticed from this video and others the honda element and although I'm not personally a fan of anything that is foreign (glock, honda, toyota, ect.) I will say that I've heard from other they make okay products I for one have fired glocks and never had one jam. For a quality made pistol however that's not too impressive my s&w m&p has also never experienced a jam. So anyways grade A videos you just seem like more of a chevy man than honda.

  • @hickok45 hey hickok i have bin watching your videos for a few months now and i gotta hand it to you your a badass bro, but do you think you can do a video on the stag arms model 3? if so i would really appreciate it man thanks. Daniel Surprise AZ.

  • @metalistR1 And the A2 had a thicker barrel.

  • @metalistR1 hey man its cause on the m16 its got a thicker barrel cause of slower riffling so it doesent get as hot

  • pity I do not live in the states. In Poland, unfortunately you can not have a weapon, you must have permission

  • i have trouble with the sights on an AR but i do love the gun though

  • @wcb67

Why doesn't self defense "cut it"?

My bedside gun is an M4 style AR15 with a light mounted on it, I can shoot it better and more accurately than any pistol.

You'd probably be horrified to know that civilians can get military level rifle and pistol training.

I shoot and train for fun and self defense, don't really care what you think about it.

  • @l3tl3v My Dad's a cop, both my grandfathers, and even my great grandfather was a state trooper. My Dad recommend a shotgun for home defense, I chose a Mossberg 550 combat shotgun, no stock, pistol grip, 12 gauge of course, and a vented rib on top. I've got to admit though, that M4 looks bitchin' and I've fired the AR15, the lack of recoil is amazing.

  • Comment removed

  • were you a veteran during the cold war???

  • Dude,do you get paid for what you do here?Cause,if not you do it very good !!

  • @wcb67 this is not a military assault rifle. its semi-automatic and can be considered nothing more than a hunting rifle.

  • hickok45 Sorry for the multiple post, but some people just don't get it. But moving on, that is a beautiful rifle you have. Remembering back to my grandpa that recently passed away, he bought his 3 sons Colt AR-15s back during the red scare, late . 60s or so. Those rifles still had the triangular hand guards on them as well. Anyways, love your videos, I always in some way come back to them. Keep making them, they keep me rather entertained.

  • @wcb67 So to answer your question in a final comment, it takes money, pure and simple first off. The government has an idea of what people have, if you are not a law abiding, you will not be allowed to have ANY firearm. And there aren't really "military" handguns. If you're talking about the "M9" you must be mistaken by the California policy of no gun should have more than 10 rounds. I like in TEXAS, greatest state in the US, and I can have a freaking 100-round beta mag if I wanted to. So there!

  • @wcb67 More so, civilians can readily acquire suppressors legally as well. And SBRs (Short Barrel Rifle). Those take more time to get, but a suppressor requires a $200 dollar tax stamp, plus how much the suppressor cost. I takes a more extensive Federal background check. Same $200 tax stamp and background check with the SBRs too. And a civilian can legally own a fully automatic weapon as well, it just has to be pre 1986. Generally, the government will know if you have it though.

  • @wcb67 It's not a military rifle...... You can go get yourself a 20 inch barrel, fixed carry handle, full butt stock AR. That particular COLT rifle is probably going to be a bit more expensive, but any law abiding citizen in and of the United States of America, and unfortunately only in certain states within the US, can but that kind of rifle. Just have to be 18 and pass a Federal background check and walk right out of the store with that rifle.

  • @wcb67 criminals are already getting illegal guns, so taking the legal guns away from the civilians trying to protect themselves for self defense, in the hope that criminals wont get guns, is just stupid! They are already getting illegal guns! I really don't understand the logic in you Liberals.....

  • @wcb67 tyranny shall not be tolerated, the PEOPLE have a right to protect themselves from corrupt government, AND if the government is run by a dictator, the people are granted by THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES to abolish that government. AND we are living in a time that makes the wild west pale by comparrison, guns save more innocent lives each year than the media would like to let you know, take your UN Politically correct bs and stuff it.

  • hickok45 How many firearms do you own?

  • @wcb67 It's NOT a military "assault rife". I didn't hear any full-auto or 3 round bursts :) That would be the M16A2 and........ the word assault is overused. It says AR15 in the title. As for "military handguns", I'm not sure I get that one. If calling it an M9 makes you feel threatened, just call it a 92F.

  • @wcb67 Because this is America and I want to. Period. And the wild west does still exist, it's just evolved.

  • @wcb67 because we can this is the U.S OF A.

  • @hickok45

Actually it is misinterpreted, under Hitler we had,and were even encouraged to have guns, even if we were not Germans, under commies and democracy...we can barely have hunting guns!

  • @wcb67 "This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more effective, and the world will follow our lead into the future!" Adolf Hitler 1935.The top five most used firearms in United States crime according to BATFE,5.Lorcin P-380, 6-rnd capacity,4. Lorcin L-25, 7-rnd capacity,3. Lorcin L-380, 7-rnd capacity,2. Raven R-25, 6-rnd capacity,1. Mossberg 500, 8-rnd capacity! SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIALS! NOT AR/AKs

  • @wcb67 we are not GRANTED these rights, they are inherent rights , WRITTEN IN OUR CONSTITUTION. Doesnt say, 'shall not be infringed, unless the firearm holds more than 10 rounds, and look 'scary', is he hurting any1 with it? They ARE NOT ASSAULT RIFLE,SEMI-AUTOMATIC. I use them because its a hobby I enjoy with my family and friends, cars kill WAY MORE PEOPLE,so does alcohol and are way more abundant & just as legal! I have 2 friends who live today cause of this rifle, so self-defense DOES CUT IT!

  • @wcb67 Honestly it is about reminding the government who they work for. Throughout history disarmament was the first step to a corrupt government. Stalin, Hitler, Kim Jong Il, and many of the like implemented or supported gun control early in their reign. In America, it's a foundational right. In other countries it is just a good idea. Also, this isn't a military-grade weapon. Its about as deadly as your every day hunting rifle. Hope this helped.

  • @wcb67 give me a sensible explantion why civilains are allowed to smoke or drive or drink each one of them kills more than firearms. hell if you use a "hillbilly" 12 ga agaist a human it would cause more damage than a AR-15 or Ak variant. these so called "assault rifles" only look mean. i know people who own Ar-15 but choose to use a hunting 308 for home defense just because of the powerof 308. these firearms and laws are inplace to put fear into the govt. not the people.

  • @wcb67 Because true Americans without mental problems are responsible enough to own them (unlike retards like you who have uncontrollable anger problems and no friends, which results in shootings).

  • @wcb67 zombies

  • would I be correct in assuming that the older AR platforms can accept 30 round mags?

  • Do you like this gun more than your AK-47?

  • I really respect how well you take care of all of your firearms. A lesson to be learned here.

  • Is this a public range or something ?

  • @mosniper831 That is his backyard

  • @C172Pilotdude nice @_@ I can't even play soccer in mine ._.

  • I have a stupid question, lets say you sight in your rifle prone at 300 yards 20 inch ar. When you go from prone to crouching then to standing how much does your poa/poi change? I can not find any information about it anywhere online. Hope someone can help thanks.

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234. I don't think it should change much, but I don't do much of that kind of shooting. Someone else can chime in.

  • @hickok45

Obama is just dreaming of taking away guns like that!

    >:-(

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 , you shouldn't have any trouble from prone to crouching. The thing that is going to change your poi/poi would be significant elevation or deescalation, which would be caused by gravity. Hope that helps some...

  • @GeneralUser1926 Yes it did thanks=]

  • Comment removed

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 It doesnt as long as your still aiming the rifle the same, now if you zerod youre rifle from a 3-story roof at a 300 yrd target, and did the rest of ur shooting from level ground then your bringing physics, angles, and also need to add the additional distance into play, but if your going from 6" off the ground to 24" at the same target, it'll be so negligible a difference if any at all, you wouldnt even notice it. No such thing as a stupid question, gotta learn somehow man!

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 its change is measured in .001 of an inch meaning that the change is so small it can not realisticaly be calculated HOWEVER if you get the muzzle of the gun VERY close ( as in with in 2 inches) it will effect the bullet some because the exiting gasses will hit the ground and push the bullet up a TINY amount

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 If you have the same cheek weld when you crouch or stand your poa/poi will not change. Its all about solid shooting position, controlled breathing and trigger control.

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 It doesn't make any differance at all. now shooting at extreme angles uphill or downhill you need to aim a little lower than normal.

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 im not an expert but yes your poi will change a tiny amount as you will then be shooting slightly downhill. However the change will be so very tiny you wouldn't need to correct for it at all at 300yds. Roughly calculated, you would hit 0.025 of an inch high. Your difference in accuracy by crouching/standing obviously would change much much more.

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 your natural point of aim is all based on you. you must consistently have the same trigger pull, sight picture/sight alignment, and cheek weld in all positions. if you do that it doesnt matter what position you are in.

  • hey hickok, i seem to remember in one of your videos you you talking about being right handed but left eye dominant. im the same way. ive learned to shoot shoulder fired weapons left handed and it helps in accuracy immensely. have you ever tried to go lefty with your rifles?

  • @GUNS4MIKE1234 NTCH!!!!! (NOSE TO CHARGING HANDLE) Since the M16 series of rifles has a nonreciprocating Charging handle you the place the tip of your nose on the charging handle and the will give you a consistent cheek weld resulting in no POI/POA shift.

  • How do you stay so steady? Any tips?

  • @hickok45 hahahahahahahaha oh my god hahahaha love the response

  • that is some mighty great shootin. i recently acquired a mosin nagant and now I know just how hard it is to shoot accurately at long range.

  • nice shooting man

  • how many acres you on

  • hey, hickok what do you think of the a2 style rear sight, kuz i've heard that it is a little bit different than normal ar sights?

  • I wish there was a college course taught by you regarding firearms. So many people go off what they see on T.V. and feel that it makes them experts. I am with you in that I love firearms and shooting them, and with guns, I am a jack of all guns and a master of none.

  • What state do you live in Mr. Hickok

  • @The1FastGP Tennessee I do believe.

  • Hickock, Those are A1 rear sights. The rear sight and the forward assist are different between the A1 and A2 (The FA will interchange). Nice rifles btw.

  • @hickok45 LOL... Careful, some people aren't smart enough to know when your being sarcastic.

  • hickok45 do you use any optics or accesories on your rifles?

  • @blaaaaaaah27 , Not really.

  • @hickok45 I like it, thats old school

  • @hickok45 Does it jam easly?

  • @blaaaaaaah27 optics stink if u need a scope to shoot it its just to far away lol

  • beautiful rifle.

  • @hickok45 lmfao this old man is fukin funny i wished u were my grandpa lol sike put ur still pretty kool

  • How does the AR-15 - A2 compare against the M4?

  • @RedSoxfan107 Same gun basically. M4 has a shorter barrel and less distance between the sites, different buttstock assembly. The full sized rifles are usually a little more accurate than the M4, but both are plenty accurate.

  • i have A QUIESTION CAN THE AR15 BE ON SEMI AUTOMATIC AND FULLY AUTOMATIC

  • @TheMrhotcutesexyboy , Not really. Plus, fully automatic requires special paperwork and tax.

  • @hickok45 And the cost of a transferable machinegun. I think drop in auto sears are going for $10,000, lowers are maybe $12,000, and a transferrable m16 is maybe $15,000-17,000. Then your state has to allow it.

  • Love your videos. Buy a Chevy.

  • Hickok, lets see the cameraman shoot for once out of your 423423523 videos lol

  • god damn. i dont think i will ever go shooting with you. youd put me to shame lol.

  • that must be thery expensive to have all those guns how much did you spent on them ? And do you have minigun or any other machineguns ?

  • @hickok45 what? ur kidding right? wait, do u mean u hide them in the underwear ur wearing?

  • are there just alot of different names for different m16 or something cuz that looks exactly like an m16, i know about guns and i know alot of different guns just not about internals, and not about brands

  • i was born in 86' that AR would be perfect for my collection.. if ever interested in selling to a fellow tennessian... i'm around!

  • the fact that your holding that ar 15 makes it that much cooler

  • Disregard the question, i just heard you say it was a sporter :)

  • Is that the A2 Sporter?

  • are yu a war veteran? lol

  • I know that AR-15's and M16's are different in that the civilian versions are semi-automatic only, but other than that are there any other visible or statistic differences? P.S Keep the videos coming! Love em!

  • do you get your guns illegaly?

  • thank you for making the distinction between a semi automatic gun and an assault rifle. most people are unable make that distinction because they are not that well-educated.

  • Funny how they removed the bayonet lug on the newer ARs but left the lug for the M203 grenade launcher on the barrel...

  • is the M16 or M4A1 ? I'am belgium :)

  • hitkoc dose the hand gard get warm after 30 round mag?

  • @Davidtrigger23 , A little, but nothing uncomfortable.

  • I keep hearing this hilarious statement abt the AR-15 rifles that "if you keep them clean they will work"... Well of course that if u keep them clean, they will work... Duuuuh! The idea is to make the assault rifle work when IT'S NOT CLEAN. There r a lot of times during a gunfight when u don't have the time 2 clean your rifle. This happened a lot in Vietnam & Iraq. So what do u do then with a rifle that only works when "it's clean"? Ask the enemy nicely 2 let u clean ur rifle? AR-15 operation

  • @StiviGun1 system sucks. Simple as that. These DI operated weapons can't be reliable, no matter what u do 2 them.

  • @StiviGun1 LOL retard.

  • @Jospehporta You're just laughable... Pathetic harasser.
