Thats cool as shit, but I dont see how its realistic or remotely practical. Have you looked into the vulnerabilities of tracked vehicles. Can you support the maintenance? I have no idea what the top end speed is, but if its too slow, vehicle traps are pretty easy to set up on the fly.
Hard Core, and I like it! You appear to have the will and the money, so why not move your family to a more remote area. Chose a location with good soil, water, and a suitable home, and then fortify it. Keep your preps on the down-low, and bring in large items at night to avoid suspicion. That's an impressive vehicle, but too easily stopped by water, fire, or traps. Then you're a bunker with 3 months worth of food. If the havenots take longer than 3 mos to die off?All your eggs are in one basket.
This may work for your situation but not all are the same. Everyone bugs out, then u meet the same situation in the woods. There is no , " one solution for all".I hope you put some armor around the top gunner, because he'd be cheese very quik.
And another thing I've learned while in the military is to never trust a military vehichle to get you any where. People see us cruising in military vics and think they are cool. But if you knew what I knew about them you would stay clear of them.
But this is America and if that is how you want to waste your money its you freedom to do so. I appologize if you are offended, but I have very conservitive ideas.
I usually don't insult people and their bug-out plans. But don't you think this might be a little ridiculous? Why not just buy an disel F-350 quad cab and a camper. If there is one thing I learned in my time in Iraq, its the fact that armor can be made, gun boxes can be built, and your machine will stick out like a sore thumb not to mention it can be easily stopped by a Husqvarna chainsaw.
Unless you live in a city you really should concentrate on bugging in or buying a good remote BOL.
Wow could people be any more jealous?!? Its your money, good for you if that's what you want to do with it, I'd love to have a tracked vehicle! Is it perfect? Maybe for you it is, heck if I know, but its super cool and even better that it pisses off you tube haters hahaha
Cool troop carrier, how is it on gas lol. I'm curious though why not build an underground bunker backyard? Stock it with food, water, guns, ammo, radios, and make it liveable. If you spent 40k on this you could make a badass underground bunker.
so your doing the whole woodgas to liquid fuel thing? id love to get a link to plans for a reactor. or just some general direction. originally i wanted to run on just woodgas, until i realized that the engines have 10-15 minute startup times. liquid would be the way to go. id love some assistance man.
Realistic for who? That's twice as much as I make a year! The most valuable thing for preparedness is skills and knowledge, not stuff. Plus, why are you thinking of traveling, why not spend all this money on making your home self sustaining? Where are you going? Plus WHY DO YOU NEED AN M2 MACHINE GUN! Are you fighting a war? How about a couple accurate and simple bolt action rifles? I think you're more likely to get yourself and your family killed when your overly elaborate plans fail.
@shonuffisthemaster First, bugging in is a bad idea if the shit really hits the fan... you bug in... you die. If people really lose everything and the government sheeple lose their income (food stamps and welfare) they're going to riot and burn cities to the ground... and at the very least, there will be roving bands of looters who will burn you out of your home if you don't give them everything you have. As for the guns... we will be fighting a war... those who are not prepared will be killed.
@PatriotsRepublic Hey man, have you thought about getting a topo-map and marking the locations of all the nuclear plants on there? it's a good idea seeing as how when the reactor cores dont get any fuel from "just in time" delivery the cores will meltdown
@PatriotsRepublic If you don't have a good defensable position at your current home, then yeah, bug out. I will bug in and bug out as a last resort. I don't live in the city and this is only useful if you're in an urban environment. I hope you have a location to go. Bugging out should be a last resort. You better have a large gang to take my rural street, because it will be blocked and patroled. A group will lose many taking my private street.
@shonuffisthemaster An MG is a good supressive fire item, the site of an MG at all will make an ambusheer think otherwise. A bolt action rifle is not a very smart idea, for close quarter action, which most suburban combat is, your attacker will be within 50 meters, making a bolt action near worthless.
@shonuffisthemaster Plus, the first 20 weeks or so, if you are in the suburbs might be okay, but after a while of bugging in you'll be getting barraged with looters wanting a peice of you. Bugging out, is a bit more safer than bugging in, but food water and exposure are the main issues. PatRepub is semi correct, with the haglund, however a heavy peice of machine like that requires a lot of deisel fuel, Which means that if he doesnt get where he wants to go prior to running
@LtSgt5 out of gas, he will be hiking the rest of the way. I don't have an issue with hiking with 200 pounds on my back, but it's a pain, but I won't mind if I manage to get out of town with my vehicle tho.
i have operated a 113 a little and ill tell you if i was going to do something like that i would either buy another vehicle to use for parts or buy a 113 so that parts will be available. i think you have seen damnnation alley (with george peppared). i would love to have one too but i think you should set your sights on a unimog or 3 - 4 duces. also anybody that knows you have that will want it enough and you wont have enough people to support protecting it.
@cowboybob3000 actually, we're just buying parts to use as parts... we'll have a lot of the parts that tend to break most often... and we have some machine shop tools and capabilities. Most of us on our team are skilled diesel mechanics... at least with older diesels.
ok,ok, have you ever operated tracked vehicles? have you ever repaired tracked vehicles? i think there are a few stages, most of which i cant even name thats going to stop you. go ahead and buy that, maybe you know what you're oing but do you know about the % of the track life thats left? what if you break a track, can you get to your machine shop? is it armored? what exactly is its mph. AND IF TSHTF YOURE DREAMING IF YOU DONT THINK PEOPLE WONT HAVE AP AND EXPLOSIVES TO USE.
Also, if you were going for farmed survival food, I would stay away from carrots, tomatoes, potatoes, squash and zucchini, they require far to much water. Maybe something with less need for constant care, so that you can focus on other objectives that you made need to accomplish in order to thrive. Just trying to offer assistance with time management. Time is the one commodity you cant replace.
@Set2Survive it rains so much where I live... that won't be a problem. We also have 4 seasons, so we know to can our food so we have stores for the winter. But since I made this video, we've managed to store around 18 months of 25 year shelf life freeze dried food as well as 20 buckets of sealed whole wheat grain for making bread. I'm also working on getting a military baking trailer...
What is its top speed? And you are right that being very deep in the woods will stop MOST people, but your statement on being operated by a single man.... are you going to drive this and put rounds downrange at your target (defensive rounds)? And there are ways to immobilize your unit regardless of its size or how well they are trained. And if you take this into the woods, you'll making roads and people often follow roads, possibly straight to you and yours. Good luck all the same. Nice vid
@Set2Survive not an offensive weapon.... operating the vehicle with a single man is easy... the weapon will stay hidden as will we. Our posture if the SHTF is wholly defensive.... no offense. We're going to use our system to go out into the woods.... way out... and let the rest of humanity explode... we'll only do scouting missions once and a while to see the progress of the breakdown of society... and if SHTF never happens... we're starting a hunting and exploration company.
@PatriotsRepublic I asked if you were capable of putting DEFENSIVE rounds downrange while driving to your bug out location. I didn't say you couldn't drive on your own, but if someone is firing upon you and you're trying to get away, how are you going to keep their heads down while you escape? People will eventually follow the paths that your machine creates, and what purpose would your hunting and exploration company serve? I'm just curious.
@Set2Survive I could disable or destroy this with naphta, pool cleaner and blasting caps. there is no problem big enough that a suitable application of high explosives can't solve. If I had to take this thing on 2 words I learned well in Iraq come to mind "ambush" and "IED" Without air support and logistics I don't want to be confined to a lumbering behemoth, I want to be fast and mobile for all terrain, on foot or horseback.
@itsmejimjones1931 my thoughts exactly. insurgents have been disabling our gear with nothing more than common household items for 20 yrs now. If you tear the legs off of a daddy long leg, it becomes nothing more than a vibrating ball, not unlike hagland bv206 troop carrier with its treads shattered by an ied (the vibration comes from his .50 cal firing rounds while attackers ambush and snipe him from cover) Fast and mobile is the way to go, guerrilla warfare is better than a tank and a .50 cal
$6,000 for a .30 cal machine gun? Storage? I'm going to call BS on that one....
Check the NFA prices, $6000 will only get you on the lower end of the sub guns. About the best fully transferable you can get for that is going to be a S&W 76. A .30 cal assuming its a 1919a4 will run you a minimum of $12,000 for a side plate gun. Any other .30 cal machine gun is doing to be atleast double that price.
And... If you had any actual money or a wife or this or that or whatever, you would shut the fuck up, keep shit to yourself, stop bragging about what you think is approx $28,000, which mind you is more like $280,000 and you don't have that and then... You would make a useful video for us to educate ourselves! Fuckin yuppie prepper!
you know whats hilarious, this guy is going to die alone, from a heart attack working on something he will never need to use, there is ICBM missles all over the United States, stop being such a paranoid fuck and open your damn eyes
@paulsonistheman lol yah while this guy is uploading his latest youtube video someone who is protecting his family will kill him and steal his vehicle lol
@azkeyz wow, you people are really stupid aren't you? Yeah, all you mouthbreathers are somehow going to obtain shoulder launched rockets, and be out in the woods hunting for survivalists.... our backyard is millions of acres of FOREST!!! But you obviously haven't taken the time to read my responses. Seriously, when the SHTF... people like you are going to be killed within the first 30 days because of your erroneous conception of what it is going to be like.
I have an appointment with the Chinese military to purchase several Chengdu J-20 fighter jets when SHTF. I plan on going bombing raids to protect my apartment. I have a large stock pile of rockets and machine gun bullets. I also have talked the Russian government and I am in the process of building my own nuclear power plant so I will have electricity in my apartment. I have also diverted water away from the Colorado River via aqueducts to have water.
Wow... what a waste of money man. No offence, but you should rethink your priorities. Buy stock or something that matters. Perhaps an APPRECIATING asset, not a piece of junk useless vehicle.
Way too high profile!!!!! Everyone with any military experience will see this, want your overstock. They will either stalk you, wait till someone steps out of turret to assault, or ambush you with explosives or downing trees to immobilize you then siege. Great fantasy but you need a well trained crew in maintenance and reloading techniques not to mention perform various tasks it takes.. $28,000 would be better spent on food storage, remote land for homesteading, a bunker, and more green energy
@MidwestPrepper1776 First, you don't know who we have on our team. Second, the engine is a 1970s Mercedes diesel which is one of the most simple engines on which to work. Third, fuel is easy to make from wood fiber, bark, bushes and other carboniferous materials and lastly, we are located around 35 miles away from millions of acres of National forest land with few if any roads which will be a perfect barrier to most seeking to loot and pillage. We won't be hanging around population centers.
@PatriotsRepublic I was just offering constructive crtitcism which every prepper should welcome to provide input on improvment. Its still gonna make a shit load of noise and even a well trained crew, rather than your family like I previously thought you were using, can get ambushed without someone clearing the path for enemy ahead. You want to read up on mech infantry tactics if you want to use this thing succefully. Trust me it wont take but a 50 cal to breech this so add armor move at night
@MidwestPrepper1776 They make no more noise than a 4x4 diesel truck. We don't need a well trained crew as a single man can operate this vehicle... it drives like a truck. We won't add armor because we're not using this as an offensive weapon, we're using it to go into the woods (heavy underbrush cover) and get the hell out of all civilization for a long time. This will be used for hunting hundreds of miles out in the boonies... and we're going where there are no roads.
@PatriotsRepublic Oh okay, but did you plan someway to cover up the 10 ft wide tilled up path this thing is gonna leave in its wake. Might as well just pass out maps to your bugout location. People will easily find the tracks, have no mistake of what is, and follow you around till you make a mistake then take it. Like I said this is way to high profile.Just try and think Murphy's Law.. Spare parts? Broke track? I think its a bad idea. An ATV convoy is cheap, practical and you can use it more
@MidwestPrepper1776 my guess is if someone bought one of these they have the extra money and already have ample storage and land and bunker etc,,, Id buy this if i need to buggout of my buggout spot
dont use your vehicles up, because when you need it most is when it'll break down on you. also, be sure to mark yourself as militia, because people like me will target anyone who comes off as a government official/fema troops. be sure that you can be distinguished between the enemy or comrad.
i love the idea, but the tent seems to give no real protection agesnt anything, what do u plan on doing to keep things out like people, animals ZOMBIES?...
i love the army transport ^^
but with that freee energy system last long with out parts, and support a 360 and TV? xD (i know i know.. xD lol)
love the vid thanks...
im FUCKED since i dont really have much spending cash and everyone i no dont think this will ever happen.. :(
Thats an awsome setup seems you really thought it all through well done. thnaks for sharing. And in Australia there is no chance of gettin hold of a vehicle anywhere near the capability of that one. even the power setup you have, well i just bought a 120watt solar panel and it cost me $700 so for set up like that i would be looking at well over $ 20k.
The US military is not big enough to handle SHTF WORL in the US, that is why the MARXISTs have sold off to the Chinese for loans they will not pay back. The William Ayers Weather movement agenda is being implemented. If you doubt it simply carry on with your gaming, or Gagaing or whatever.
They are trusting most young people are like most young people OBLIVIOUS AND NAIVE FOLLOWING EVER WHIM OF THEIR INDOCTRINATORS.
I lived holland 3 and worked with those in Germany the tracks on are pain in the ass they break it used offen over ruff terrain. Your an intellectional so I let you write way out of this but the truth hurts. Have at least 3 spare tracks and also a full time mechanic on hand. I also lived Fairbanks 40 below and the tracks have problem again track are pain in ass. I recommend a mule or horse that my method also a bunker in the Yokon or close to it. This way you have your stuff in one main area
Holy crap man! Why don't you just invest in an underground bunker? I think your chance of servival would be much greater underground and out of sight then with a hudge machine like that.
We even drove one across muskeg/bog and it did fine due to the track system, kinda felt like driving on a water bed. I'd get the diesel. We even had one of our guys get run over by it when we were hopping out a getting ready to emplace the gun and he slipped but due to the track/weight pressure he didn't get hurt.
My Artillery unit used them in Alaska (92-96) as the prime mover for our 105 mm Howitzers(M-101 & M-119) never got them stuck in mud or snow no matter how deep even though the guns sunk in the snow and acted as a plow we had no problem moving them.
Personaly I consider myself really liberal....but I don't care for the idea of not being prepared in the event of a SHTF scenario. next time I win the lotto ill get what this guy has XD
this is a bit excessive.. gotta love rednecks ..... id like to see you find a spare part for this when this doomsday comes.. seems to me its better having a vehicle that is one of a few hundred thousand floating around.... 80's - 90's fords.. .. ?? and just curious where your keeping all the fuel for this 3 mpg vehicle.. what a waste of money..
@kctyphoon seriously? Don't you read? The comments at the top kind of explain how we're going to maintain this system. Typical liberal... can't read and can't be bothered to find out any facts before you spout off your unintelligible dribble.
@PatriotsRepublic Because he makes a few good points (that will save a lot of money) you call him a liberal? I lean to the right.. thats just giving us a bad name dude.
@1027554 Now I know you're a troll. And for all I know, you're a second account for the poster I called out. If you can't debate like a man without hiding behind anonymous internet monikers, then you should just go and kill yourself, because you are truly useless to humanity.
@PatriotsRepublic You have no idea what that number means to me, and even with the sub par intelligence you have I would still think you could look up the account and find that I have videos posted so it's not just a dummy account.
@1027554 When I initially saw your account, there was no video on it. I saw it while I was on my mobile device, so I didn't post a comment until today. I didn't bother going back to your page. Because you are a child, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The first clue of his liberal bent (he may not even know he's a liberal) is his desire to instantly brand me a redneck and then proceed to pretend he knows about my system and my capabilities in dealing with replacement parts and fuel.
@PatriotsRepublic So let me get this straight.. you're upset that he branded you as a redneck, so you proceed to brand him as a liberal? ....ahh intelligence at it's best...
@1027554 its nothing so trite as that child. When you get older and more mature, you'll come to understand that there is more to a sentence than what is just on the surface. The statists are here and they are looking to discredit everyone they can. They follow the Saul Alinsky rules for radicals; you should read it some time. Calling him a liberal is just exposing him for who he is, and the term 'redneck' has been turned into a pejorative despite Jeff Foxworthy's best efforts.
@PatriotsRepublic yes and your use of the word liberal was not pejorative at all (that was humor in case you can't catch on) You are simply trying to justify your simple minded efforts to put someone else's school of thought down. Also, calling me a child, when it appears that I am very much more mature than you, is just working against you. I wish you better luck in your future argument because you have just failed.
@1027554 Of course my use of the term liberal was not pejorative. The difference is that "liberal' is a political ideology. Redneck is a historically derogatory slang term used in reference to poor white farmers, especially from the Southern United States. It is similar in meaning to cracker or hillbilly. In recent decades, the term expanded its meaning to mean bigoted, loutish, and opposed to modern ways, and has often been used to attack Southern conservatives and racists. See the difference?
@mkdehaan It would be stupid for you, but we have a portable machine shop, we have spare parts and tracks for our systems and we can make diesel. First, a 4x4 cannot make it across rivers and where it can, those will be brigand choke points, every person in a vehicle that isn't amphibious or can't leave the backroads will become a target. My vehicles don't need roads, bridges or shallow parts of rivers for crossing. My vehicles can leave civilization all together. Did I mention I can make diesel?
@calrenman you should read up on this system. The pressure from its tracks are no more than 1/2 of a full grown man, and in many cases, if you drive in a forest, the tracks will almost be invisible. Unlike a truck or regular 4x4, this system does not require roads or bridges and since I can make diesel out of wood chips in a portable gasification/liquifaction system, I don't have to worry about conventional fuel sources. I live near vast forest land... so being hidden will be very easy.
You have CLEARLY not thot this thru (realistically) ...
OTHER PEOPLE (your alliances) are the only hope that you have ... I would take that ~60K and build a water-treatment facility and infirmary ... And lots of low-tech (un-powered) tools, etc. Bugging out? ... Have a destination and just use street-legal enduros and back-packs, to reach your permanent stash. Form sustainable alliances, now ... expect that YOU will NOT be "the leader".
@monkey50cal yes, and do that and you'll be dead so fast... you're head will explode. Don't worry, you won't have to look hard... because we'll be hunting your type down and exterminating you.
@PatriotsRepublic don't be so quick to the draw, 'cause someone always has a faster hand then you. hypotheticly, if I'm robbing your housethere's probably a 50/50 chance I'll get the drop on you, and if that happens the best thing you can do is drop the gun. If you ever be in a situation like that please remember what I'm saying before you go galavanting into the night to shoot someone.
@silverd20 first, you make it sound like I'd be going alone.... not gonna happen. If you're robbing my household, you would never get the drop on me... the dogs, silent alarms, and my buddies would get you first. The best thing you can do is not rob the wrong house.... because you rob mine, and you will die.
@silverd20 Gee, what attitude? The one where I tell you that if you try and rob me, I'll kill you? You're just threatening to rob me, and saying that it would be best if I just surrender and let you rob me... I'm telling you that anyone who attempts to rob me will be shot multiple times... and anyone who survives the shooting will be shot again.
@PatriotsRepublic I'm not threatening you I'm talking hypotheticals, and yes I will die if I robbed your house. The real question is if a person got into a shootout how many people could he take with him. you'd probably lose your dogs right off the bat, and maybe 1 or 2 people as well if there are a couple people on the other side. If you want to go by machiavelian rules then by all means go ahead, but if you do just remember that there is always someone with a bigger stick.
@silverd20 You know what would be a better way to "rob" people? Grab a buddy that can shoot, pop a scoped semi auto in his hands, run up to the house throw a Molotov at it (best effect is 2/3 gas, 1/3 motor oil/tar.) light the people up as they clear the house, then take what they bugged out with. You minimize risk to yourself, while at the same time denying the competition. And of course you will have to be some two cold blooded bastards to do this.
I just read Vicious about wolves in USA and how they were obliterated by a paranoid population, Im ashamed to say they originated from England. They wiped out all the animals in woods deer badgers foxes wolves , absolutely bonkers, its sad to know these kind of people are alive and well in the , blast every thing ask later. in UK our Police a re like this , The shit isn't going to hit the fan and if it does people wont be killing each other. it will just effect bankers and politicos parasites
I plan to get a wheeled APC for the same type of reason. I plan to stay in place but even so a person has to go out sometime and I plan to have a vehicle that can take rifle shots and so on, go over objects with little problem and get us there and back.
please vote this shit up....these fags come with queer ass assassins after you who specialize in poisons and killing little girls just so you know...watch ur toes they will just go oops and bump into ur foot or step on it...and inject you...or shake your hand and inject you...or even some pussy shit like rubbing up against you and giving you a disease. They really like the whole honey pot thing. And hm..what else...dont trust and gook ninjas...and umm...get rottweilers fuck labs.
really cool vehicle & it would deffinitely be fun to drive.... however for a mere $1000 or less you can get an M997 4 litter ambulance from an auction. it has all the abilities to go off grid & is easily convertible to an rv style vehicle. desil. bullet proof. nbc resistant with air filtration & positve pressure system. i had this vehicle in the army as a combat medic for years & find it is the perfect setup for wife & i & our 2 dogs. carries everything we need.
@FixedByDoc While that may be nice... my two Hagglunds will be able to go where no road exists over terrain that no 4x4 could follow. Our system will be ready to film by August I hope, so I'll post a video of us on a camping trip.
@PatriotsRepublic the m997 can be completely submerged. it can go pretty much anywhere yours can go and maybe even more due to being smaller. the m997 isnt just a 4x4 it can be outfitted with trax just like yours. parts are simple and can be used from most desil vehicles around not to mention the military here will have tons of their vehicles about that all use the same parts so there will be an abundant supply. it will also blend in where yours stands out.
@angelfoodcakeface You do know that in this country, you can no longer buy used military equipment. If it is older than 1980, you might be able to find it and buy it. But newer military hardware is no longer legal to sell in this country. It is the governments way of further isolating Americans from their military roots and their effort to try and prevent us from building up any sort of resistance to their tyranny.
@PatriotsRepublic My apologies, I'm no where near informed as you are. I used to drive a Stryker and it is by far the most advanced-kick ass ride I have handled. I believe you when you say as civilians we cannot get our hands on them, just good to see such preparedness. With my current financial state it's is difficult to get a good to go bag going! ONE
@PatriotsRepublic Two things #1 the government sells newer equipment than 1980 #2 Syndiesel is not the way to go to much work just find a multi fuel engine. hell my M35 can run on any petroleum, vegetable or fat based oil
Seems like one hell of a hunting rig. Do you have your own oil refinery though? No vehicle is good in a SHTF situation as there will be no where to purchase fuel.
@PatriotsRepublic It doesn't sounds like a simple process to me! It would be damn near impossible to manufacture it on the move too wouldn't you think? I read that the most energy consumption during the process is due to the production of oxygen used for the gasification- I don't think it just pulls it from the air. But I'm sure you have researched more about it than I just did! Good luck to you!
You are better off with a 4x4 because you will become a target not only by looters, but you will be a target for law enforcement and military should there be a break down in society.
Just imagine the impression you will make with this vehicle rolling down the treet or across the a field, with a 30 cal weapon mounted on top.
The military/National gaurd have bigger guns that will take that right out. It does not even look armored.
@usarmycaptainamerica where I live, there are forests...... lots and lots of forests... and rivers... when the shit hits the fan, police will not be out there confiscating vehicles from people... they'll be trying to protect their families from the same chaos.... and the military.... same thing... there will be little organization at first.... and, we won't mount the gun right away, that would only be as the last effort... and finally, our group has military in it... we're not afraid of killing.
@PatriotsRepublic-- If you think tht is the way to go, more power to you. I just think you have the potential to draw ALOT of unwanted attention, and at least in my mind low profile is the way to go.
@usarmycaptainamerica when most of your backyard is wilderness, forests and mountains, a standard 4x4 is restricted to roads, either paved or dirt.... too far off road and you're stuck with no way out. My backyard is millions of acres of wilderness, most of which is mountains and forest.... and with my vehicle, my group can get far enough off the beaten path to protect our families, and at the same time, make trips back down close to civilization where we can assist in the rebellion.
Great stategy but will this run on your solar power or will you be making a conversion to peanut oil. When "it"begins your corner petrol station will be run by an unsympathetic Govt.
@thomlinz we'll be making syndiesel by oxygen gasification and Fischer Tropsch process. The process is quite simple considering what we're making, and once the system is running, it is self sustaining and all we have to do to keep it going is put some sort of feedstock into it... like plastic garbage, any vegetation scraps, wood chips, animal waste or even human waste... and all will be turned into syngas which will then be transformed via the Fischer Tropsch process into syndiesel.
much respect for you in your efforts/hobby, but most of the people on here looking for info don't have the cash to buy military vehicles or buy solar panels, wind turbines ect.... i guess I gotta go low budget and just buy a larger supply so I can eat, drink, stay clean, have a few luxury items and walk around my home with assault weapons while the whole world burns.... you my friend will have no quality of life disrupment, o how i need to hit the lottery.....
@MrSkankaDank I'm not an employee. I own a business. That is the difference. I control how successful my business by how much and how long I am willing to work. I don't work a 40 hour week.... haven't for at least 20 years. Alone, I cannot do these things either. I have however managed to bring together around 16 people who can also chip in with funds to purchase the system we need as a group. For around 3500 each, we're able to purchase this system. We saved that money for 3 years. Do the math.
@PatriotsRepublic , I was only saying that for someone like me, out of college a few years ago, I was looking for beginners advice, not that what your doing isnt what comes after you take care of the basics. However the people I am friends with and especially my age group people's main concern is that their iPhone is fully charged, facebook is up and running and who can drink a 12 pack the fastest.... In respect for survival for SHTF, I am the lone ranger, dont expect me to open my doors
Great video man, the only thing is, and this isnt necissarily directed towards you but alot of these videos deem electricity as a necessity. But something like a generator would really slow you down due to weight and the supply of gasoline to it. I would think the gasoline would better be utilized for your transport to a safer less populated area. If there was a colapse for me, i dont see it as important to have electrical power as it is to have food and water, water specifically.
@PizzaAndFirearms And this is why I have around 2.2kWh of solar panels, and 2 600 watt wind turbines, an Inverter and some AGM deep cycle batteries (20kWh). Electricity problem solved. I can usually make around 10kW per day, and on a real good day in the summer, I can make way more electricity than I can store. I've ordered another 60kWh of Rolls Surrette deep cycle for my home. Of course, I'll be making my own diesel as well, but that will mostly be reserved for my transportation needs.
@PizzaAndFirearms Why is electricity important? Recharging batteries for night vision equipment, flashlights, hand held CBs, radios, water filters (electrical kind - ionizers and hydrogen and oxygen generators for making fuel for my 3kWh hydrogen/air fuel cell which comes in handy when needing a silent generator). In a SHTF or WROL scenario, electricity, and portable storable electricity is a huge tactical advantage.
@CRAPCANNONS An electric Hagglund would be useless in a SHTF scenario. Repairing diesel engines is easy enough if you have a machine shop, but just try and make a battery. The technology to make a battery is much more difficult that it is to rebuild a cylinder for a piston in an internal combustion engine.
@BUOUTORBUGIN Not quite completely paid for yet. I hope to have it paid off this summer. The company is keeping it at their facility until I pay it off (plus, it will take me more money to get the truck to transport it here). I hope to make I video of me on it this summer when I go to the mountains camping. We'll see if I'm ready by then. Maybe August.
Way cool vehicle. Off road will be the only way to travel safely and avoid the check points. Most highways will become death traps full of disabled cars and lots of people with no place to go. Heck most rush hours are like that now.
I liked your video. You plan is thought out and detailed. If you need to reach and touch a group with the 30 caliber, you're probably up against some serious opposition. Either you or wife will be manning the gun while the other drives or your hunting buddies will be providing support. You might want to reevaluate and get a system that can be reasonably maintained and flexible. Your concept is cool, I do not know your support structure. The hunting trip would be cool. Thanks! wtr7
What is the range? You would need a trailer full of 55 gal bbls to go mor that 300 miles. This thing just says "hijack me!", I would want something blends in, more like a brown or grey suburban.
But I have to admit, this thing would be hella fun to drive.
@PatriotsRepublic Dude, that thing is bad ass! I have been wanting an M35A2 for a long time now. Everybody out here wants an arm and a leg for one though :(
For "SHTF" preparation / society collapse preparation: anyone thinking of buying / acquiring metal plate to put beneath their windows and mount on the inside of their doors? Would there be a point to it against an AK47 round? if so what kind of metal and what kind of thickness?
@gunthaarz have you ever heard of kevlar? I've purchased 120 yards of the fabric and will be creating an inner shell and padded liners for the BV-206.
For the rest of you questioning why I'd get one of these... because this vehicle ROCKS... and me and my buds love to go camping in very remote locations... this gives us the ability to go where no one else can go.
@PatriotsRepublic Kevlar cloth as used for example with epoxy as a skin for boats IS NOT bulletproof. Have you ever fixed a thrown track? It really sucks, take manpower and time. Just something to think about. And NEVER use starting fluid in a diesel engine - use WD-40 only. Just a couple cents...lol. I used to drive a "Gamma Goat" when I first joined the Army. Same basic design with articulated trailer. No tracks on the Goat, was a 6x6, and with float kit installed was amphibious & airdroppable
if your worried about government coming down on you im sure they could stop that simply

Thats cool as shit, but I dont see how its realistic or remotely practical. Have you looked into the vulnerabilities of tracked vehicles. Can you support the maintenance? I have no idea what the top end speed is, but if its too slow, vehicle traps are pretty easy to set up on the fly.
Good luck.

I think you're more likely to get yourself and your family killed when your overly elaborate plans fail.
shonuffisthemaster 3 months ago 2
@shonuffisthemaster First, bugging in is a bad idea if the shit really hits the fan... you bug in... you die. If people really lose everything and the government sheeple lose their income (food stamps and welfare) they're going to riot and burn cities to the ground... and at the very least, there will be roving bands of looters who will burn you out of your home if you don't give them everything you have. As for the guns... we will be fighting a war... those who are not prepared will be killed.
PatriotsRepublic 3 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic Hey man, have you thought about getting a topo-map and marking the locations of all the nuclear plants on there? it's a good idea seeing as how when the reactor cores dont get any fuel from "just in time" delivery the cores will meltdown
LtSgt5 2 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic If you don't have a good defensable position at your current home, then yeah, bug out. I will bug in and bug out as a last resort. I don't live in the city and this is only useful if you're in an urban environment. I hope you have a location to go. Bugging out should be a last resort. You better have a large gang to take my rural street, because it will be blocked and patroled. A group will lose many taking my private street.
Kaltwasser45 2 months ago
@shonuffisthemaster An MG is a good supressive fire item, the site of an MG at all will make an ambusheer think otherwise. A bolt action rifle is not a very smart idea, for close quarter action, which most suburban combat is, your attacker will be within 50 meters, making a bolt action near worthless.
LtSgt5 2 months ago
@shonuffisthemaster Plus, the first 20 weeks or so, if you are in the suburbs might be okay, but after a while of bugging in you'll be getting barraged with looters wanting a peice of you. Bugging out, is a bit more safer than bugging in, but food water and exposure are the main issues. PatRepub is semi correct, with the haglund, however a heavy peice of machine like that requires a lot of deisel fuel, Which means that if he doesnt get where he wants to go prior to running

i have operated a 113 a little and ill tell you if i was going to do something like that i would either buy another vehicle to use for parts or buy a 113 so that parts will be available. i think you have seen damnnation alley (with george peppared). i would love to have one too but i think you should set your sights on a unimog or 3 - 4 duces. also anybody that knows you have that will want it enough and you wont have enough people to support protecting it.
cowboybob3000 3 months ago
@cowboybob3000 actually, we're just buying parts to use as parts... we'll have a lot of the parts that tend to break most often... and we have some machine shop tools and capabilities. Most of us on our team are skilled diesel mechanics... at least with older diesels.
PatriotsRepublic 3 months ago
ok,ok, have you ever operated tracked vehicles? have you ever repaired tracked vehicles? i think there are a few stages, most of which i cant even name thats going to stop you. go ahead and buy that, maybe you know what you're oing but do you know about the % of the track life thats left? what if you break a track, can you get to your machine shop? is it armored? what exactly is its mph. AND IF TSHTF YOURE DREAMING IF YOU DONT THINK PEOPLE WONT HAVE AP AND EXPLOSIVES TO USE.
cowboybob3000 3 months ago

PatriotsRepublic 3 months ago
What is its top speed? And you are right that being very deep in the woods will stop MOST people, but your statement on being operated by a single man.... are you going to drive this and put rounds downrange at your target (defensive rounds)? And there are ways to immobilize your unit regardless of its size or how well they are trained. And if you take this into the woods, you'll making roads and people often follow roads, possibly straight to you and yours. Good luck all the same. Nice vid
Set2Survive 3 months ago
@Set2Survive not an offensive weapon.... operating the vehicle with a single man is easy... the weapon will stay hidden as will we. Our posture if the SHTF is wholly defensive.... no offense. We're going to use our system to go out into the woods.... way out... and let the rest of humanity explode... we'll only do scouting missions once and a while to see the progress of the breakdown of society... and if SHTF never happens... we're starting a hunting and exploration company.
PatriotsRepublic 3 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic I asked if you were capable of putting DEFENSIVE rounds downrange while driving to your bug out location. I didn't say you couldn't drive on your own, but if someone is firing upon you and you're trying to get away, how are you going to keep their heads down while you escape? People will eventually follow the paths that your machine creates, and what purpose would your hunting and exploration company serve? I'm just curious.
Set2Survive 3 months ago
@Set2Survive I could disable or destroy this with naphta, pool cleaner and blasting caps. there is no problem big enough that a suitable application of high explosives can't solve. If I had to take this thing on 2 words I learned well in Iraq come to mind "ambush" and "IED" Without air support and logistics I don't want to be confined to a lumbering behemoth, I want to be fast and mobile for all terrain, on foot or horseback.
itsmejimjones1931 2 months ago
@itsmejimjones1931 my thoughts exactly. insurgents have been disabling our gear with nothing more than common household items for 20 yrs now. If you tear the legs off of a daddy long leg, it becomes nothing more than a vibrating ball, not unlike hagland bv206 troop carrier with its treads shattered by an ied (the vibration comes from his .50 cal firing rounds while attackers ambush and snipe him from cover) Fast and mobile is the way to go, guerrilla warfare is better than a tank and a .50 cal
Set2Survive 2 months ago
$6,000 for a .30 cal machine gun? Storage? I'm going to call BS on that one....
Check the NFA prices, $6000 will only get you on the lower end of the sub guns. About the best fully transferable you can get for that is going to be a S&W 76. A .30 cal assuming its a 1919a4 will run you a minimum of $12,000 for a side plate gun. Any other .30 cal machine gun is doing to be atleast double that price.
burner208 3 months ago
And...
MidwestPrepper1776 4 months ago
@MidwestPrepper1776 First, you don't know who we have on our team. Second, the engine is a 1970s Mercedes diesel which is one of the most simple engines on which to work. Third, fuel is easy to make from wood fiber, bark, bushes and other carboniferous materials and lastly, we are located around 35 miles away from millions of acres of National forest land with few if any roads which will be a perfect barrier to most seeking to loot and pillage. We won't be hanging around population centers.
PatriotsRepublic 4 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic I was just offering constructive crtitcism which every prepper should welcome to provide input on improvment. Its still gonna make a shit load of noise and even a well trained crew, rather than your family like I previously thought you were using, can get ambushed without someone clearing the path for enemy ahead. You want to read up on mech infantry tactics if you want to use this thing succefully. Trust me it wont take but a 50 cal to breech this so add armor move at night
MidwestPrepper1776 4 months ago
@MidwestPrepper1776 They make no more noise than a 4x4 diesel truck. We don't need a well trained crew as a single man can operate this vehicle... it drives like a truck. We won't add armor because we're not using this as an offensive weapon, we're using it to go into the woods (heavy underbrush cover) and get the hell out of all civilization for a long time. This will be used for hunting hundreds of miles out in the boonies... and we're going where there are no roads.
PatriotsRepublic 4 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic Oh okay, but did you plan someway to cover up the 10 ft wide tilled up path this thing is gonna leave in its wake. Might as well just pass out maps to your bugout location. People will easily find the tracks, have no mistake of what is, and follow you around till you make a mistake then take it. Like I said this is way to high profile.Just try and think Murphy's Law..
PatriotsRepublic 5 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic So let me get this straight.. you're upset that he branded you as a redneck, so you proceed to brand him as a liberal? ....ahh intelligence at it's best...
1027554 5 months ago
@1027554 its nothing so trite as that child. When you get older and more mature, you'll come to understand that there is more to a sentence than what is just on the surface. The statists are here and they are looking to discredit everyone they can. They follow the Saul Alinsky rules for radicals; you should read it some time. Calling him a liberal is just exposing him for who he is, and the term 'redneck' has been turned into a pejorative despite Jeff Foxworthy's best efforts.
PatriotsRepublic 5 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic yes and your use of the word liberal was not pejorative at all (that was humor in case you can't catch on) You are simply trying to justify your simple minded efforts to put someone else's school of thought down. Also, calling me a child, when it appears that I am very much more mature than you, is just working against you. I wish you better luck in your future argument because you have just failed.
1027554 5 months ago
@1027554 Of course my use of the term liberal was not pejorative. The difference is that "liberal' is a political ideology. Redneck is a historically derogatory slang term used in reference to poor white farmers, especially from the Southern United States. It is similar in meaning to cracker or hillbilly. In recent decades, the term expanded its meaning to mean bigoted, loutish, and opposed to modern ways, and has often been used to attack Southern conservatives and racists. See the difference?

This is just stupid!! What if a part gets broken? You can't carry all the spareparts with you.. You'd be better off buying a good 4x4..
mkdehaan 8 months ago
@mkdehaan It would be stupid for you, but we have a portable machine shop, we have spare parts and tracks for our systems and we can make diesel. First, a 4x4 cannot make it across rivers and where it can, those will be brigand choke points, every person in a vehicle that isn't amphibious or can't leave the backroads will become a target. My vehicles don't need roads, bridges or shallow parts of rivers for crossing. My vehicles can leave civilization all together. Did I mention I can make diesel?
PatriotsRepublic 8 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic I hope no one tracks your track. Nice toy!
calrenman 7 months ago
@calrenman you should read up on this system. The pressure from its tracks are no more than 1/2 of a full grown man, and in many cases, if you drive in a forest, the tracks will almost be invisible. Unlike a truck or regular 4x4, this system does not require roads or bridges and since I can make diesel out of wood chips in a portable gasification/liquifaction system, I don't have to worry about conventional fuel sources. I live near vast forest land... so being hidden will be very easy.

And lots of low-tech (un-powered) tools, etc. Bugging out? ... Have a destination and just use street-legal enduros and back-packs, to reach your permanent stash. Form sustainable alliances, now ... expect that YOU will NOT be "the leader".

monkey50cal 9 months ago
@monkey50cal yes, and do that and you'll be dead so fast... you're head will explode. Don't worry, you won't have to look hard... because we'll be hunting your type down and exterminating you.
PatriotsRepublic 9 months ago 3
@PatriotsRepublic don't be so quick to the draw, 'cause someone always has a faster hand then you. hypotheticly, if I'm robbing your housethere's probably a 50/50 chance I'll get the drop on you, and if that happens the best thing you can do is drop the gun. If you ever be in a situation like that please remember what I'm saying before you go galavanting into the night to shoot someone.
silverd20 8 months ago
@silverd20 first, you make it sound like I'd be going alone.... not gonna happen. If you're robbing my household, you would never get the drop on me... the dogs, silent alarms, and my buddies would get you first. The best thing you can do is not rob the wrong house.... because you rob mine, and you will die.
PatriotsRepublic 8 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic If you come across it with that attitude then you're already dead.
silverd20 8 months ago
@silverd20 Gee, what attitude? The one where I tell you that if you try and rob me, I'll kill you? You're just threatening to rob me, and saying that it would be best if I just surrender and let you rob me... I'm telling you that anyone who attempts to rob me will be shot multiple times... and anyone who survives the shooting will be shot again.
PatriotsRepublic 8 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic I'm not threatening you I'm talking hypotheticals, and yes I will die if I robbed your house. The real question is if a person got into a shootout how many people could he take with him. you'd probably lose your dogs right off the bat, and maybe 1 or 2 people as well if there are a couple people on the other side. If you want to go by machiavelian rules then by all means go ahead, but if you do just remember that there is always someone with a bigger stick.
silverd20 8 months ago
@silverd20 You know what would be a better way to "rob" people? Grab a buddy that can shoot, pop a scoped semi auto in his hands, run up to the house throw a Molotov at it (best effect is 2/3 gas, 1/3 motor oil/tar.) light the people up as they clear the house, then take what they bugged out with. You minimize risk to yourself, while at the same time denying the competition. And of course you will have to be some two cold blooded bastards to do this.

really cool vehicle & it would deffinitely be fun to drive.... however for a mere $1000 or less you can get an M997 4 litter ambulance from an auction. it has all the abilities to go off grid & is easily convertible to an rv style vehicle. desil. bullet proof. nbc resistant with air filtration & positve pressure system. i had this vehicle in the army as a combat medic for years & find it is the perfect setup for wife & i & our 2 dogs. carries everything we need.
FixedByDoc 10 months ago
@FixedByDoc While that may be nice... my two Hagglunds will be able to go where no road exists over terrain that no 4x4 could follow. Our system will be ready to film by August I hope, so I'll post a video of us on a camping trip.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic the m997 can be completely submerged. it can go pretty much anywhere yours can go and maybe even more due to being smaller. the m997 isnt just a 4x4 it can be outfitted with trax just like yours. parts are simple and can be used from most desil vehicles around not to mention the military here will have tons of their vehicles about that all use the same parts so there will be an abundant supply. it will also blend in where yours stands out.

Should have spent your money on a used Stryker made by General Dynamics!
angelfoodcakeface 10 months ago
@angelfoodcakeface You do know that in this country, you can no longer buy used military equipment. If it is older than 1980, you might be able to find it and buy it. But newer military hardware is no longer legal to sell in this country. It is the governments way of further isolating Americans from their military roots and their effort to try and prevent us from building up any sort of resistance to their tyranny.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago 2
@PatriotsRepublic My apologies, I'm no where near informed as you are. I used to drive a Stryker and it is by far the most advanced-kick ass ride I have handled. I believe you when you say as civilians we cannot get our hands on them, just good to see such preparedness. With my current financial state it's is difficult to get a good to go bag going! ONE
angelfoodcakeface 10 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic Two things #1 the government sells newer equipment than 1980 #2 Syndiesel is not the way to go to much work just find a multi fuel engine. hell my M35 can run on any petroleum, vegetable or fat based oil
wdmforrent1 10 months ago
@angelfoodcakeface
stryker uses way way way to much fuel . So where are you going to fuel that pig up at hmmm ?
fabianstraregy 9 months ago
Seems like one hell of a hunting rig. Do you have your own oil refinery though? No vehicle is good in a SHTF situation as there will be no where to purchase fuel.
ttrottman 10 months ago
@ttrottman We will make syndiesel by oxygen gasification followed by Fischer Tropsch synthesis... is is a very simple process. Look it up.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic It doesn't sounds like a simple process to me! It would be damn near impossible to manufacture it on the move too wouldn't you think? I read that the most energy consumption during the process is due to the production of oxygen used for the gasification- I don't think it just pulls it from the air. But I'm sure you have researched more about it than I just did! Good luck to you!
ttrottman 10 months ago
You are better off with a 4x4 because you will become a target not only by looters, but you will be a target for law enforcement and military should there be a break down in society.
Just imagine the impression you will make with this vehicle rolling down the treet or across the a field, with a 30 cal weapon mounted on top.
The military/National gaurd have bigger guns that will take that right out. It does not even look armored.
usarmycaptainamerica 10 months ago
@usarmycaptainamerica where I live, there are forests...... lots and lots of forests... and rivers... when the shit hits the fan, police will not be out there confiscating vehicles from people... they'll be trying to protect their families from the same chaos.... and the military.... same thing... there will be little organization at first.... and, we won't mount the gun right away, that would only be as the last effort... and finally, our group has military in it... we're not afraid of killing.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic-- If you think tht is the way to go, more power to you. I just think you have the potential to draw ALOT of unwanted attention, and at least in my mind low profile is the way to go.
Out of sight out of mind... Nice vehicle though.
usarmycaptainamerica 10 months ago
@usarmycaptainamerica when most of your backyard is wilderness, forests and mountains, a standard 4x4 is restricted to roads, either paved or dirt.... too far off road and you're stuck with no way out. My backyard is millions of acres of wilderness, most of which is mountains and forest.... and with my vehicle, my group can get far enough off the beaten path to protect our families, and at the same time, make trips back down close to civilization where we can assist in the rebellion.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago
Great stategy but will this run on your solar power or will you be making a conversion to peanut oil. When "it"begins your corner petrol station will be run by an unsympathetic Govt.
thomlinz 10 months ago
@thomlinz we'll be making syndiesel by oxygen gasification and Fischer Tropsch process. The process is quite simple considering what we're making, and once the system is running, it is self sustaining and all we have to do to keep it going is put some sort of feedstock into it... like plastic garbage, any vegetation scraps, wood chips, animal waste or even human waste... and all will be turned into syngas which will then be transformed via the Fischer Tropsch process into syndiesel.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago
much respect for you in your efforts/hobby, but most of the people on here looking for info don't have the cash to buy military vehicles or buy solar panels, wind turbines ect.... i guess I gotta go low budget and just buy a larger supply so I can eat, drink, stay clean, have a few luxury items and walk around my home with assault weapons while the whole world burns.... you my friend will have no quality of life disrupment, o how i need to hit the lottery.....
MrSkankaDank 10 months ago
@MrSkankaDank I'm not an employee. I own a business. That is the difference. I control how successful my business by how much and how long I am willing to work. I don't work a 40 hour week.... haven't for at least 20 years. Alone, I cannot do these things either. I have however managed to bring together around 16 people who can also chip in with funds to purchase the system we need as a group. For around 3500 each, we're able to purchase this system. We saved that money for 3 years. Do the math.
PatriotsRepublic 10 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic , I was only saying that for someone like me, out of college a few years ago, I was looking for beginners advice, not that what your doing isnt what comes after you take care of the basics. However the people I am friends with and especially my age group people's main concern is that their iPhone is fully charged, facebook is up and running and who can drink a 12 pack the fastest.... In respect for survival for SHTF, I am the lone ranger, dont expect me to open my doors
MrSkankaDank 10 months ago
Great video man, the only thing is, and this isnt necissarily directed towards you but alot of these videos deem electricity as a necessity. But something like a generator would really slow you down due to weight and the supply of gasoline to it. I would think the gasoline would better be utilized for your transport to a safer less populated area. If there was a colapse for me, i dont see it as important to have electrical power as it is to have food and water, water specifically.
PizzaAndFirearms 11 months ago
@PizzaAndFirearms And this is why I have around 2.2kWh of solar panels, and 2 600 watt wind turbines, an Inverter and some AGM deep cycle batteries (20kWh). Electricity problem solved. I can usually make around 10kW per day, and on a real good day in the summer, I can make way more electricity than I can store. I've ordered another 60kWh of Rolls Surrette deep cycle for my home. Of course, I'll be making my own diesel as well, but that will mostly be reserved for my transportation needs.
PatriotsRepublic 11 months ago
@PizzaAndFirearms Why is electricity important? Recharging batteries for night vision equipment, flashlights, hand held CBs, radios, water filters (electrical kind - ionizers and hydrogen and oxygen generators for making fuel for my 3kWh hydrogen/air fuel cell which comes in handy when needing a silent generator). In a SHTF or WROL scenario, electricity, and portable storable electricity is a huge tactical advantage.
PatriotsRepublic 11 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic I stand corrected. Touche'
PizzaAndFirearms 10 months ago
They don't make an electric Hagglund BV206 do they?
CRAPCANNONS 11 months ago
@CRAPCANNONS An electric Hagglund would be useless in a SHTF scenario. Repairing diesel engines is easy enough if you have a machine shop, but just try and make a battery. The technology to make a battery is much more difficult that it is to rebuild a cylinder for a piston in an internal combustion engine.
PatriotsRepublic 11 months ago
@PatriotsRepublic
Ok that answers my question. Thanks.
I hope you end up getting it. It looks great.

@BUOUTORBUGIN Not quite completely paid for yet. I hope to have it paid off this summer.

Heck most rush hours are like that now.
crusty21 11 months ago
I liked your video. You plan is thought out and detailed. If you need to reach and touch a group with the 30 caliber, you're probably up against some serious opposition. Either you or wife will be manning the gun while the other drives or your hunting buddies will be providing support. You might want to reevaluate and get a system that can be reasonably maintained and flexible. Your concept is cool, I do not know your support structure. The hunting trip would be cool. Thanks! wtr7
wtr7 11 months ago
What is the range? You would need a trailer full of 55 gal bbls to go mor that 300 miles. This thing just says "hijack me!", I would want something blends in, more like a brown or grey suburban.
But I have to admit, this thing would be hella fun to drive.

For "SHTF" preparation / society collapse preparation: anyone thinking of buying / acquiring metal plate to put beneath their windows and mount on the inside of their doors? Would there be a point to it against an AK47 round? if so what kind of metal and what kind of thickness?
gunthaarz 1 year ago
@gunthaarz have you ever heard of kevlar? I've purchased 120 yards of the fabric and will be creating an inner shell and padded liners for the BV-206.
For the rest of you questioning why I'd get one of these... because this vehicle ROCKS... and me and my buds love to go camping in very remote locations... this gives us the ability to go where no one else can go.
PatriotsRepublic 1 year ago
@PatriotsRepublic Kevlar cloth as used for example with epoxy as a skin for boats IS NOT bulletproof. Have you ever fixed a thrown track? It really sucks, take manpower and time. Just something to think about. And NEVER use starting fluid in a diesel engine - use WD-40 only. Just a couple cents...lol. I used to drive a "Gamma Goat" when I first joined the Army. Same basic design with articulated trailer. No tracks on the Goat, was a 6x6, and with float kit installed was amphibious & airdroppable
combatjm89 1 year ago
