My iGo charger's blue light turns off constantly and stops charging, and i unplug it from the wall, and as soon as i plug it into my laptop's peripherals the blue light goes off again.. what do you think the reason for this would be?.. it's pretty frustrating..
for all the money you spend on that battery you could buy a small generatpr... i bet they will let you carry that on the plane..."whats that? my gen, you cant take gas on the plane, but its a wind turbine ill just stick it out the window theres lots of air out there lol"
The US power head does come off, but the end of the power cable is female - and the world power adaptors they sent me are also female. I should have demonstrated that better in the video, but suffice it to say it doesn't fit in any way. I'm sure it's just because they didn't send me the proper parts, but it highlights how complex their system of parts is...they can't even figure the right stuff to send out to reviewers.
wow. i feel like buying one now. the only thing that concerns me is the complexity of the entire system, like you said, even the company is perplexed by its confusing connections.
I think the connectors are very similar, but the pinouts are going to be different. It really comes down to licensing - Apple would never in a million years allow the Zune to plug into the iPod ecosystem...
Seems like a good idea, but poorly executed and a somewhat questionable price point. I know I'm not alone with not wanting to spend $50+ simply to charge all my devices from the same plug.
Does it work with iPod and Macbook? I don't think that you can have the car adapter and the home adapter coming out of the same plug because one is direct current and one is alternating current, but I could be wrong.
iPod=Yes, Macbook=no. Check out this quote from their site: "This tip was scheduled for January 2008 release, but it is now on hold. As an Apple partner, we are hoping to work with Apple for licensing of these products; however Apple does not currently have a licensing program for MagSafe tips. If you are so inclined, please suggest to Apple that they develop a licensing program for MagSafe tips... so we can bring you one for your iGo adapter." Typical Apple - shafting their partners.

@Shakalaka78 It's defective hardware. Contact iGo and hopefully it's still under warranty...

ah. This must be a newer model. Mine didn't retract. :-(
For the money, the product is well worth it.
Oceabrz 1 year ago
@Oceabrz The retracting cable actually broke, so I prefer the models without the retracting cable - more reliable.

As long as you're careful when buying it to make sure that you get all the rights parts, it's a good system.

Can't you use the Zune tip for iPod? Don't the Zune and iPod both have the same size 30-pin connectors?
pinoycracker 3 years ago
No, the Zune and iPod each have different tips.
- Jason

Thanks. But do you know the main difference? Like is the Zune's connector fatter?
P.S. Great vids =)

Uh, doesn't the very end of the cord come off to fit the UK thing on?
It appears to be interchangeable at that 90 degree joint....
