Is the tower on Terminal D a replacement tower for the pre existing LAS ATCT or a ramp control tower?

@YxJames that little tower on the D gates is merely a ramp tower. The FAA will be building a brand new air traffic control tower next to the new 'terminal 3' sometime this year. it will be right around 300 feet tall - 100 feet taller than the current one.

@je14100 depending on where you live and your financial options Mt. SAC is a great CTI school BUT! .......its run by pilots :( no offense to pilots but how is it possible for a pilot to teach a controller?

it's called a flight progress strip. it contains pertinent information about the aircraft departing. when she scans it, all the data is transferred to the departure controller and they receive a printed strip as well.
