Sunny Gavaskar, who along with Viv Richards, was probably the best batsman against genuine pace regarded Andy Roberts as the best bowler he has ever faced. That is a great compliment from a batsman who had faced Holding, Garner, Marshall, Lillee, Thomson, Imran, Botham, Hadlee and Kapil.

Hi. I never saw Andy play live. He had retired when i got into cricket. I remember once cricket was washed out. I was home watching the T.V and they were showing highlights of W.S.C. It was W.I vs The World. Andy Roberts ripped through and destroyed a fantastic batting lineup. It was snick city.

@robelinda2 Here is something that will piss off a lot of people but it is worth it.. Start a site and charge a small (please small lol) fee for subscription and add all these fancy clips to it - make cool combinations - take personal requests for combinations & post those, like u do anyway. Maybe you can post some from those Super-tests that you have as well etc etc. Behind a password subscription area it is 'easier' to do. Think about it, it is actually easy to set up - use paypal !

Rob-As usual many many thanks! Is this 81-82 WSC series? I guess Windies beat Aus 4-0 in best of 7 matches.....within the 1st four-pronged pace battery Roberts is treated/spoken as guru....but he was a pale shadow by the time he visited India in 83-84 series! Oldtimers speak in awe about his spells on his 1st tour to India in 74. His breaking of Hookes jaw ironically provided the legitimacy to WSC super tests in terms of intensity and competition.
