  • fps?

  • was ist da sein Stumfilm?

  • @ddaypartymacher Sorry, but I don't speak German. (At least I think that's German)

  • @ryukenosuke even tough i dont speak german at all, im pretty sure it says "was that a silent movie"

  • @indiemovieFX Saying it loud, I might have to agree with you. Hehehe

  • @ryukenosuke wierdly enough (as im norwegian) some german words sounds really like norwegian.. "stumfilm" is "silent movie" so yeah reading german like a boss

  • You're playing 3 notes on the left hands = FAIL

  • @mofobrofoshoable You're not reading the video description = bigger fail

  • replying to my comment just to be right = FAIL

  • @mofobrofoshoable attempting to move the attention away from your original fail for not reading = an even bigger fail.

^_^ Out of curiosity, what made you comment on this video to begin with? Telling the drummer he didn't do it right won't change the fact that this video was recorded, depicting this drummer doing exactly what you see above. Does calling out his mistake do you any good? Lol

  • @ryukenosuke Hey man JAH is my witness. If you look at this in a rational way you would learn that i'm actually helping whoever the drummer is. Because although his intentions were a double stroke roll, you can clearly see he plays 3 notes on his left hand, rendering it a faulty double stroke roll. So tell your drummer friend the error of his ways and maybe he will fix the problem with his double stroke rolls. this is drumming evolution in motion, no time for stragglers. JAH

  • @mofobrofoshoable I don't know who the drummer was. I was just walking around a local music shop with my camera. Also, I didn't ask him what he was doing. I'm not a drummer, so the only terminology I knew was "drum roll" for the title of the video. Lol

  • @ryukenosuke Got yourself into a pickle haven't you, lol.

  • @mofobrofoshoable Being a bit of a tool = FAIL DELUXE

  • @mofobrofoshoable you have to learn to shut up

  • @ApprovedGranite Prick!

  • @ApprovedGranite Hahaha, I never thought I'd have viewer comments actually fighting for me. Much appreciated to everyone. ( :

  • @mofobrofoshoable it is 100% a faulty two-stroke roll...he is sloppy with his left hand! :)

  • dude where's the sound

  • The camera doesn't record sound during high speed capture. If it did, it would sound like nothing but a SUPER low rumble at 10x slower than normal.

  • @ryukenosuke: so.....you mean it cant any sound whatsoever......

  • If I'm recording at standard speeds, then it records stereo sound just like any other camera.

  • @ryukenosuke: K

  • r u left handed?

  • I'm right handed, and this isn't me in the video.

  • @jockeytoahorse yeah and he has brown eyes . wtf thas have to to with this clip sherlock?

  • Flam taps FTW

  • how about you hit the drum in the center of the head.

  • I can't believe all the morons on this page. He's referring to frames per second, the speed at which his camera captured images, and at which this video is playing back. Also, that drummer is doing a five-stroke roll, he's not having a seizure or failing at flams. Get your eyes checked. If this comment offends you, politely chug bleach or never make another YouTube comment.

  • its fps look at the description....

  • @RocketDeluxe1 THANK YOU!!! Someone finally read the description. You're my hero, Rocket. *smiles*

  • They're called Flam Taps. Sorry 'bout cha not knowing anything outside of regular paradiddles.

  • 300 faps per second

  • this is wrong dude

  • Tell me about it... *sighs* People never read the silly video description.

  • its beats per minute. not frames per second

  • No, it's really frames per second. I was recording the video at 300 frames per second, and played it back at 30fps on youtube.

  • @Aprophecy92 dude its frames per second because is in slow-mo...duuuuh

  • cool

  • well that shows what I know about drumming and you sound really smart sayiing all that stuff

  • Lol, no worries. I just know about my camera. I know very little about drumming.

  • I just tought the "f" was like taps

  • Nah, 300fps means I recorded this video at 300 frames per second. The video plays back at 30 frames per second, allowing us to see it with 10x more detail than our naked eyes can normally see. ( :

  • no I don't lol hahahaha

  • it looks like 4 fps

  • Do you know what you're talking about? Lol

  • I guess it's kind of a flam tap sort of.

  • is this silent or do you have sound trouble?I cannot hear it.Brainy at BMSS

  • The camera does not record audio while recording in highspeed mode.

  • You're not doing even hits. you're sometimes doing 3 on the left and 2 on the right.

  • It's not me...

  • @ryukenosuke are you sure that was a drummer??

  • He was one of the employees of the Guitar Center that worked in the percussion area. I have videos of him on the kits that aren't in Slow Motion, so I know he does do some drumming...but as to him being trained or not, beats me.

  • @Jiraiyashir super fast drum rolls can be done that way alot of drummers do that, drum rolls arent always one hit on each stick

  • @STATUSthesleepers True, maybe I'm just to rudiment based, for me that would be called a buzz roll

  • @Jiraiyashir true, wouldntve hurt for him to specify that

  • Guys...this isn't me. This is some random guy at guitar center that I recorded. I'm not a drummer...so I don't know the specifics of what is and isn't a drum roll...

  • @Jiraiyashir Those are called egg beaters

  • @Drums5B what?

  • @Jiraiyashir depends on what type of roll your doing, if he was trying to do a double stroke roll then hes a bit sloppy, but a closed roll can be kinda messy. I actually like the buzz roll beause it sounds so inconsistent, it just depends on the context your playing in

  • i see dirt.

  • Do you now?

  • uneven... your left is tapping an extra stroke. RRLLl-RRLLl is what you're doing.

  • lol what is he doing like egg beaters? or just a shit roll?

  • ha when you play it in slow mo it sorta looks like flam taps

  • thats one uneven roll

  • thats not a roll thats called a paradiddle

  • Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I'm not a drummer.

  • @ryukenosuke the only difference is the number of times the stick hits each stroke. it only hits twice so its a paradiddle. any more than that is a roll

  • Really? I always thought a drum roll was two hits per stick to make a perfect 4 per cycle. Guess my drummer buddy got it wrong. ^_^

  • @ryukenosuke usually a roll is 3 or 4 or 5 hits per stick mine are 4 hits i think

  • @planbskater565 a drum roll can be as manny strokes per hand as u want

a paradiddle is RLRR LRLL what this guy is doing is a double stroke roll

  • @thickpooxbox360 hes definately not doing even rolls though, so it kind of ruins the video:/

  • @unliborator trust me steve gadd or dave weckle cant even do even rolls , if you slow down their rolls like this it wont be perfect timing, just because no1 has enough precision to nail it 100% , allthough at full speed it sounds perfect

  • @thickpooxbox360 if its a double stroke roll why is his left stick hitting the head 3 times........

  • @jsk8drummer hes just making a mistake, you wouldnt hear the thrid stroke anyway cos its so light, although there is a hybrid rudiment called 'egg beaters' which is 3 on one hand and 2 on the other but i doubt hes intentionally playing that

  • @thickpooxbox360 i saw 3 on the left once, i agree with Asbadian

  • @planbskater565

    Thats not a paradiddle,

a paradiddle is RLRR or LRLL, they're playing RRLLRRLL in this video

  • @flippytheleper im pretty sure ur wrong a paradiddle or doubles as some people call it is rrllrrll

  • *face palm* I think I'll return the title of this video to drum roll as it gives the viewer an idea, at least, of what the video is showing. Lol

  • @ryukenosuke haha i never said change it nobody can really tell the difference

  • Hehehe, I should just call the video "slow motion tappy thingie."

    c( ;

  • @planbskater565

check out vic firth's 40 essential rudiments page, that should clear things up

  • @planbskater565 a paradiddle is different from doubles, it's rlrrlrll

  • @cnewman99 yeah i know that i been gone for a few weeks and my friend been keeping up wit my account apparently he thought he knew what he was doing when he made that comment hahaha.... sorry for the confusion

  • @planbskater565 Oh I see, it's all good bud

  • @planbskater565 paradiddle is RLRRLRLL

  • poor stick control thats all.

  • and if you go 1000fps, you can see the drum head make waves of motion when struck!

  • It sure does!

    ( :

  • Awesome

  • That's an awful roll...it looks like you're attempting to flam, but you're epileptic or something...

  • Huh? When did epilepsy get into this?

  • truth. a roll should be constant doubles or constant triples. not yours.

sometimes theres doubles and sometimes triples. learn better.

  • I'm not the drummer, nor do I know how to drum. This was just an experiment with my camera.

Learn to read the video info.

  • @ryukenosuke i see nothing in the info about you not being a drummer. it says "a drummer doing a drum roll" and i see neither a drummer or a drum roll.

  • *laughs* Are you seriously arguing over something so trivial from 3 months ago? Thanks for watching my vid, but chill, my friend. The video was recorded just so I could show off the high speed features of the camera I was using.

  • @ryukenosuke you tell me to read, i tell you i did.

    calmer than you are, dude.

  • Hehe, whatever floats your boat.

  • @ryukenosuke LOL I agree with therealMichaelWC. Nice camera, tho ;)

  • Lol, thanks.

  • @Asbadian This guy is right. This is not a double stroke roll, he's putting flams in at random whether intentionally or not. Almost like he's trying to do flam taps, but failing. Sloppy.

  • @Asbadian It's a double stroke roll, idiot.

  • UP and DOWN....UP and DOWN....UP and DOWN...ect.

  • reminds of that scene from drumline, when devon picks up the drum solo. ah the memories.
