@ryukenosuke wierdly enough (as im norwegian) some german words sounds really like norwegian.. "stumfilm" is "silent movie" so yeah reading german like a boss
@mofobrofoshoable attempting to move the attention away from your original fail for not reading = an even bigger fail.
^_^ Out of curiosity, what made you comment on this video to begin with? Telling the drummer he didn't do it right won't change the fact that this video was recorded, depicting this drummer doing exactly what you see above. Does calling out his mistake do you any good? Lol
@ryukenosuke Hey man JAH is my witness. If you look at this in a rational way you would learn that i'm actually helping whoever the drummer is. Because although his intentions were a double stroke roll, you can clearly see he plays 3 notes on his left hand, rendering it a faulty double stroke roll. So tell your drummer friend the error of his ways and maybe he will fix the problem with his double stroke rolls. this is drumming evolution in motion, no time for stragglers. JAH
@mofobrofoshoable I don't know who the drummer was. I was just walking around a local music shop with my camera. Also, I didn't ask him what he was doing. I'm not a drummer, so the only terminology I knew was "drum roll" for the title of the video. Lol
I can't believe all the morons on this page. He's referring to frames per second, the speed at which his camera captured images, and at which this video is playing back. Also, that drummer is doing a five-stroke roll, he's not having a seizure or failing at flams. Get your eyes checked. If this comment offends you, politely chug bleach or never make another YouTube comment.
Nah, 300fps means I recorded this video at 300 frames per second. The video plays back at 30 frames per second, allowing us to see it with 10x more detail than our naked eyes can normally see. ( :
He was one of the employees of the Guitar Center that worked in the percussion area. I have videos of him on the kits that aren't in Slow Motion, so I know he does do some drumming...but as to him being trained or not, beats me.
Guys...this isn't me. This is some random guy at guitar center that I recorded. I'm not a drummer...so I don't know the specifics of what is and isn't a drum roll...
@Jiraiyashir depends on what type of roll your doing, if he was trying to do a double stroke roll then hes a bit sloppy, but a closed roll can be kinda messy. I actually like the buzz roll beause it sounds so inconsistent, it just depends on the context your playing in
@ryukenosuke the only difference is the number of times the stick hits each stroke. it only hits twice so its a paradiddle. any more than that is a roll
@unliborator trust me steve gadd or dave weckle cant even do even rolls , if you slow down their rolls like this it wont be perfect timing, just because no1 has enough precision to nail it 100% , allthough at full speed it sounds perfect
@jsk8drummer hes just making a mistake, you wouldnt hear the thrid stroke anyway cos its so light, although there is a hybrid rudiment called 'egg beaters' which is 3 on one hand and 2 on the other but i doubt hes intentionally playing that
@cnewman99 yeah i know that i been gone for a few weeks and my friend been keeping up wit my account apparently he thought he knew what he was doing when he made that comment hahaha.... sorry for the confusion
@ryukenosuke i see nothing in the info about you not being a drummer. it says "a drummer doing a drum roll" and i see neither a drummer or a drum roll.
*laughs* Are you seriously arguing over something so trivial from 3 months ago? Thanks for watching my vid, but chill, my friend. The video was recorded just so I could show off the high speed features of the camera I was using.
@Asbadian This guy is right. This is not a double stroke roll, he's putting flams in at random whether intentionally or not. Almost like he's trying to do flam taps, but failing. Sloppy.

The camera doesn't record sound during high speed capture. If it did, it would sound like nothing but a SUPER low rumble at 10x slower than normal.

@ryukenosuke: so.....you mean it cant any sound whatsoever......

ryukenosuke 1 year ago
@ryukenosuke usually a roll is 3 or 4 or 5 hits per stick mine are 4 hits i think
planbskater565 1 year ago
@planbskater565 a drum roll can be as manny strokes per hand as u want
a paradiddle is RLRR LRLL what this guy is doing is a double stroke roll

truth. a roll should be constant doubles or constant triples. not yours.
