More anthropocentric hogwash. Just forget that 99.99999% of our universe is completely inimical to human life. Also, the universe occasionally throws a rock at Earth which wipes out whole species. Then there's viruses, bacteria, parasites and predators which try and often succeed at killing us. All designed for us! Thank you, Oh beneficent Maker! And about this appendix which might explode and kill me.....

That anything exists is a mystery unfathomable by science.
Given that something exists, the universe is still unexplainably improbable.
Given that the universe exists, our existence, like you say, is unlikely
and yet incredibly caused by a completely staggering coincidence of initial conditions.
WE DON'T KNOW WHY.
Fact: it is a complete breakdown of skepticism to choose to be certain that there is no purpose to the universe.
