  • It was 40 years ago this week that the largest killing by a Government Militia on its people in the U.S since the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890 occured.John Lennon's tell it like it is lyrics expressed the anger of many people of the Attica debacle.Thank you for posting this powerful song.

  • amazing lyrics

  • Aah, the refreshing state of Lennon... :)

  • Something I have always found ironic about this song and his stance on the whole Attica State issue. The very man that killed him is now locked up in Attica State.

Just kind of Ironic, I suppose.

    Rest in peace John!

  • THANK YOU for posting this album, rare, artful, historical, revolutionary, political, feminist; yoko did wonders for john, he is a pop-star turned activist artist. he is bigger than jesus.

(123cococandy- stop crying you lil punk)

  • When your right, your right - no one (besides Osama deserves to die for what they believe in) However I disliked John a greeeeeeeat deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • John Lennon was an amazing guy. So amazing that people still don't get him to this day. Generalizations and over-the-top assumptions, and he was SO much more than "this or that." His life was his art, he made some dumb mistakes, but he really cared where a lot of other people were happy to just write a song for a check and move along. He was an inspiring individual and it's sad some people can't see that, but that's on you.

  • TO JOHN L>YOU WOULT BE VEREY UPSE WITH DAVE P. HE NEEDS TO TELL THE THRUTH

  • JOHN wood be hunhappy with dave peel making mony off JOHN:s passing rjk

  • I don't like John Lennon or his views, or his music or what he did to his first wife and especially his first son. I think it's called karma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @123cococandy John divorced his wife. It's unfortunate, but divorces happen. He didn't abuse his wife or son. He wasn't the best dad to Julian, but he was getting closer and really bonding with him before he was murdered. To say that someone getting shot to death is what he deserves because you don't agree with his politics is messed up. His music was flawless and inspirational, but he was a mere human- not a monster by any stretch. People that knew him, adored him.

  • @123cococandy what the hell are you talking about

  • Anyone else notice how when John Lennon was asked how he would die, he answered: "I'll probably be popped off by some loony". And he just happened to be shot by some idiotic man. Where does Mark David Chapman, Lennon's killer, lie now? In Attica State. I'm not to much for the scary future telling thing, but there are too many coincidences for this. John, we miss you you future telling god.

  • happy birthday john

  • God I wish I could listen to this song without Yoko's wailing

  • Please see the new youtube documentary called 'Arresting Impunity' about Splitting the Sky, who was the only man arrested at Attica during the riots, then falsely accused of killing a prison guard. He recently made a Citizen's Arriest upon George Bush. John Lennon first performed 'Imagine' at a Benefit Concert for STS and his 'Attica Brothers' dedicating 'Imagine' to them. Also check out 'Anthem for Dissent' with Splitting the Sky narrating the amazing words!

  • We're all mates with Attica State, i.e. We're born in a prison, raised in a prison, dream in a prison like fools.

This is Lennon at the top of his game right here.

  • please traslate this song to spanish please please plese

  • ''Rockefeller pulled the trigger, that is what the people feel'' Long Live John Lennon

  • I often wondered how liberal Yoko is today, considering what happened back in 1980.

  • mark chapman is in Attica prision, right now....

  • @diegoloxa92 That bastard Chapman is up for parole again. Yoko is against it, and will veto it.....I guess she is not the fun loving Liberal she used to be anymore. The lyrics to this song is flawed. Just because John was a Beatle, does not make him right all the time.

  • @Fooblestheclown I think the lyrics are not flawed, anyway it is a great song in the way of music. The problem is in John's idealism. The song just as the song is perfect. John as a musician was perfect. The idealism of Lennon is different than his composition capacity. :) take it easy, dont kill me, im your friend!

  • @diegoloxa92 Foobles is not going to kill you. Foobles respects your opinion.

  • I disagree with John here, sorry master...

  • a lot of people gave this song flack about its message, but quite frankly it's a great Lennon song, and this is really one of songs i can say john and Yoko together sound good

  • @beotchslayer2000 Yea it's a great song, I mean I really like it but I cant say I agree with the message. People are in prison for a reason.

I mean Yoko was all for letting prisoners free but suddenly when someone murders her husband she wants the man who did it to never be set free? Bit hypocritical if you ask me.

  • @beotchslayer2000 the message is great, John was the man.

  • Here a bit of irony. The dude that would go on to shot and murder John Lennon would actually end up in Attica State...

  • Yes but, before he went there there was big problems with the humanity of the prison (1 roll of toilet paper a month, 1 shower a week and the state police broke up a riot by shooting everybody (also killing alot of the prison guards). In this song he says that the prisoners didnt kill, Rockefeller pulled the trigger, Mark Chapman has killed a man.

  • Badass song :).

  • The "Some Time In New York City" LP was a GAS! I think one of the reasons it dissapeared from the General Sales Catalogue so fast,& has never been rereleased on CD,is due to the Great Hostility it received in The UK;The fans in England took umbrage over Lennon's assertion labelling (as an essayist wrote in 1975) all "54 million (inhabitants) guilty of genocide and worse crimes".

This tune is,however,my ALL-TIME UBER-MEGA-ULTRA RAVE-FAVE of the whole 2 disc set (Along with "New York City")

  • I think this song is awsom. I can't find this album. Thanks for posting, ZenLay

    Peace

  • @ZenLay1968 ????¿??
