Hi, I'm trying to build this team for the battle tower to try and get a 100 streak just for my trainer card. This team seems to get quite far a lot, so that's why I've decided to try it out. Do you have any useful tips or tactics other than whats shown that could help me out? I seriously only have a rough idea of what I'm doing. Yeah at that point, instead of having 2 maxed out attributes like a normal pokemon should, the CPU's have all of them maxed out. It also sucks to fight against a team of all legendaries with all attributes maxed out...
I hack and Il admit it. It takes so much time to get what you need, so why not just get any pokemon you want with any tm and any item and any nature with like 1/1000th of the time it would take to breed it with the moves you want? The result is no different, its only time put forth that is changed. So stop complaining about hacking, there are people smart enough not to spend months trying to get what they need and instead just go out and by an AR for 15$. have a nice day.

I read somewhere that when you get a 1000 battle streak in the battle tower you can then got to kanto/hoenn/johto. You unlock 1 region for a 1000 streak, a 2000 streak and a 3500 streak. Then you go to the boat at snowpoint city and he will offer to take you to the other region.
I'm not sure if this is true and I'm a crap battler so I can get nowhere near 1000. I was. Hoping you could check because apparently you can get all 32 badges. Please reply and can people
@ImpOverpower they would both attack it. when fully set up, outrage is pretty close to a OHKO (if not a OHKO, it's been a while since i've done the calculuations). and registeel does fine, even against things like lanturn and heatran (which resist steel 4x). the only problem is i think the occasional skarmory with roar/whirlwind, which have to be dealt with specially. you're usually on the 2nd or 3rd poke by that stage, and if you can get a couple of setup moves, you've ot a decent chance.
lol nice job i've been dying to find a team last 2 years ago but now its easy. i recently beat platinum on thursday and now going to make a team kinda like this one. Also to the people who think 999 hours on pokemon is alot its really not that much time. its like 41 days time in real life playing pokemon only a month and a half of you're life playing a game so STFU its no big deal!

hey what happens when you encounter a shedinja? i never felt more lamed out when i came across a shedinja with a latias/registeel/garchomp team only to not be able to hit the stupid thing and all my pokemon got shadow sneaked to death. i even tried to stall out all its moves so it'd be left with struggle, but i couldnt. the shedinja came out 2nd, or i think trick woulduve still worked...
@abu2411 you can only get there when you finish the game. wowo, it's been so long i hardly remember, but there's a ferry from the city with the iron type gym i believe.

@zzzrobix definitely considered dragon claw. he usually can use earthquake before absolutely having to resort to outrage. and the berry helps him too. in rare circumstances, eg a (levitating) latios using thunderwave, i often use my latias to charm it down to -6 attack, then salamence sets up and stalls out thunderwave and lets it struggle to death.
@PowerBondSeven yeah, you could use virtually the same set for dragonite. less speed initially, but when set up as fast as anything else. attack is the same as salemence.
@shamanazakura ah yes, i've heard of a few people who let their latias attack a bit as well. i'd highly recommend psychic over mist ball though. if you get into a pickle, the fire power will definitely help out. what's your best streak with this team?
@l3iiSON actually it's no problem at all. if the second or third poke uses it, i'm already set up so usually wipe them out before they even try. if the first pokemon gets locked into double team, then i have an easy time setting up salamence who then has 7 chances to hit them with a move (double team has 15 PP).
okay so an 843 Latias and an 845 salamence (WTF) i've never seen stats that high is it because of the pokerus? Because i've never gotten a Latias or a Salamence over 832 stat points on level 50.
@l3iiSON they all have perfect IVs (bred/caught using RNG abuse) , and were carefully EV trained. so they're basically as high as possible. if you bred that 832 salamence the usual way, you did very well.
@TheUchiha678 it depends on the Pokemon species. For example, Geodude will always give 1 Defense EV, and Graveler will always give 2 Defense EVs. So the EVs a Pokemon gives are not dependent on level

@etrigan778 because very occasionally i would get into a position where salamence had to face an opponent without any previous set-up. i actually used to have him trained with far less speed, but encountered such a situation (which i fortunately survived) but decided straight-away it was more beneficial. besides, when he's fully set up, the extra few hit points don't help him any more than a few more speed point.
If you could please help me... I have a perfect IV and EV team and I can get barely anywhere in the Battle Tower. Do you have some strategy you could possibly share or hint at?
@BozoTheBear Well yeah but... I'm pretty sure I'd get yelled at in wi-fi for a salamence. XP Anyways, my team is Staraptor, Gardevoir, and Rhyperior. Staraptor is trained in attack and speed, Gardevoir in special defense and special attack, and Rhyperior in attack and defense. They all have beneficial natures.
how do u have a salamence with perfect ivs in everything? perfect ivs in all stats on a pokemon is nearly impossible to do no matter how many eggs u hatch.
@furduhaai well, dragon dance is the most essential move in this set up. so you'd be far better off breeding to get another salamence. none of those other moves would work at all.
@BozoTheBear I Did it AFTER 15+ dittos i found an adamant ditto.. breed it .. the Salamence without EV train attack is like 168.. do u think it would reach over 195 when i EV trained it?
@phynosis good work. so, your salamence is level 50, with absolutely no attack EV's? if so, then it has an attack IV of 26-27, which would mean its attack stat when fully trained would be 202-203.

@nintendofool you don't see shedinja past about battle 14. but he would still die to registeel, who would just wait until either he or shedinja had used all its moves, and then struggle would kill it (no matter who struggled)
@Com101smurdy well, given that they were all captured rather than bred, the answer is technically no. but yes, they were rng'd to have perfect IV's (except the registeel is just *very close* to perfect).

@superpower612 - tell me about it..... i played through a set of 7 battle castle matches this morning - twice i faced the ampharos with thunder, focus blast, etc, and in about 15-20 moves it never missed once - granted it had wide lens, but my blissey was often paralysed....
@113nh - quite a few reasons actually - higher attack, dragon dance (meaning i can go adamant > jolly), intimidate, better combined type resistences with registeel.
@m1nayondaime - oh, it's just exploiting the fact that the game is less random than you might think with the way it gives things like stats/shininess - essentially if you click buttons at the right time, you can aim for specific things like shininess. it's harder than it sounds, but if you do a google search for pokemon rng abuse, you'll find some information.
@djMsbond higher attack, higher speed (because of dragon dance), intimidate, better combined type resistences together with registeel - a lot of reasons actually!
yeah i know - i took a bit of a risk in that one too (retricking) but i'd got to 1000 already so i let my guard down a little ;) some trainers (including that one) have nothing but legends.

How would you counter a skarm? registeel and salamence both do physical and non-effective damage to it and your latias is usually dead half the time.

@l3iiSON they all have perfect IVs (bred/caught using RNG abuse) , and were carefully EV trained. so they're basically as high as possible. if you bred that 832 salamence the usual way, you did very well.

@TheUchiha678 it depends on the Pokemon species. For example, Geodude will always give 1 Defense EV, and Graveler will always give 2 Defense EVs. So the EVs a Pokemon gives are not dependent on level

@imaczmwahahahaha thanks dude. nope, didn't think of the strategy myself - the trick idea has been discussed on smogon for ages - not sure who had the idea first, but i'm pretty sure i was the first to use salamence instead of garchomp (instead of stuff like garchomp).

@etrigan778 because very occasionally i would get into a position where salamence had to face an opponent without any previous set-up. i actually used to have him trained with far less speed, but encountered such a situation (which i fortunately survived) but decided straight-away it was more beneficial. besides, when he's fully set up, the extra few hit points don't help him any more than a few more speed point.

@BozoTheBear Well yeah but... I'm pretty sure I'd get yelled at in wi-fi for a salamence. XP Anyways, my team is Staraptor, Gardevoir, and Rhyperior. Staraptor is trained in attack and speed, Gardevoir in special defense and special attack, and Rhyperior in attack and defense. They all have beneficial natures.

I have the exaxt same team as yours but the attack of salamence is 181 and speed 132 instead of 205 and 150. Latias also has a lower speed.
Since ''dragon dance'' is an egg move, what would be a good replacement?
I thought of: leer, focus energy, scary face, shadow claw or swagger.........

@furduhaai well, dragon dance is the most essential move in this set up. so you'd be far better off breeding to get another salamence. none of those other moves would work at all.

@furduhaai ok - gyarados is a parent for DD (so is kingdra, dragonite, etc).
1HKO moves are a pain - there are ways to get around them, but they are not 100%. substitute is the main thing.

@phynosis good work. so, your salamence is level 50, with absolutely no attack EV's? if so, then it has an attack IV of 26-27, which would mean its attack stat when fully trained would be 202-203.

@nintendofool you don't see shedinja past about battle 14. but he would still die to registeel, who would just wait until either he or shedinja had used all its moves, and then struggle would kill it (no matter who struggled)

@superpower612 - tell me about it..... i played through a set of 7 battle castle matches this morning - twice i faced the ampharos with thunder, focus blast, etc, and in about 15-20 moves it never missed once - granted it had wide lens, but my blissey was often paralysed....

@m1nayondaime - oh, it's just exploiting the fact that the game is less random than you might think with the way it gives things like stats/shininess - essentially if you click buttons at the right time, you can aim for specific things like shininess. it's harder than it sounds, but if you do a google search for pokemon rng abuse, you'll find some information.
