  • awesome

  • honestly i hate this style of playing the singing on the guitar! just play the music that was originally written instead of trying to emulate singing on an intrument ffs, sounds messy and horrible imo.

    peace

  • @Sourcecode01 clearly you don't know what you're talking about.. it's called fingerstyle playing and it's hard to learn.. it's instrumental.. if every musician would think like you, and not be creative, then the evolution of music would be stuck.. peace

  • I saw this vid almost ten years ago on his instructional video and it's still inspiring for all string players. I thought about his version tonight and I still can't believe I found it...Love It!!!

  • This guy looks like Malcolm Gladwell.

  • Hi Tuck is my name, and guitar is my game

    i'm glad you came

    genius

  • Started to sound like Mario theme song... I think I know where MJ got his song idea from xD

  • he looks like MJ.... haha :)

  • yeah! great jazzfunked...

  • he looks a bit like a young tim robbins

  • can you teach me???? plese...

  • Nah, I just spilt my drink...

  • sounds like he has 8 fingers on each hand.

  • met him a few months ago and he was wearing sweat pants and nike air max..

    so what?

sense of fashion changed but still one of the greatets guitarist i've ever seen and of the nicest guys i ever met!!

  • 1. What is the puppet doing with his guitar?

    2. Why has it got a swap on its head?

    3. Why does it wear its pants that high?

    4. "Hi Tuck is my name, guitar is my game"...omg the puppet can speak...

    5. Great cover !

  • High pants were in back in those days. This guy is the pioneer of this style of guitar playing. Almost everybody today would cite Tuck as one of their first or major influences in how they play today. I have one of his albums and it says on the sleeve that there were no overdubs and there was only one guitar. Close your eyes on at times you would swear that there was two, sometimes even three guitarists. Tuck is simply a legend. Love his work!!!!

  • que mal tiempo tienen los guitarristas en general..

  • ha ha ha thats awesome. I spent about 3 agonizing years learning this from Guitar Techniques magazine, transcribed by Guthrie Govan.... years ago!

  • Sheer brilliance. Tuck Andress is simply amazing. Stop with the fashion comments unless you can play like this (which I seriously doubt)

  • Did anyone noticed that he actually looks like Michael Jackson?

  • "glad you came."

    you're damn right i did.

  • Way too fast! Slow down dude!

  • @TheGirlgamer321 It's his version, he can do whatever he wants with it.

  • Hi.. tucks my name and guitars my game... im glad you came .. LMFAO HAHAHA never laughed so hard !

  • @04roza laugh all you want, he's a fucking sick guitarist

  • ahha ncie man !

  • it sounds better played on cigar box guitar.

  • Looks like a nerdy John Mayer! John+jewfro+high pants= tuck!

  • I'm learning this song right now :)

  • @xblackb0x Me too =)

  • yes i did i cum

  • Bartolini pickups in n L5?? nice :)

  • Truly astounding. I can't understand how anyone could dislike this. Srsly.

  • singing the song man in the mirror with his guitar

  • that's...amazing.

  • 30 people are deaf

  • how can someone dislike this? this is absolutely brilliant. I have never seen someone play fingerstyle like this before. he controls the energy level so well, never letting it become overpowering. doing that makes the more energetic parts seem even that more powerful.

  • 29 people get frightened whenever they look at the mirror.

  • 29 people who really don't appreciate music.:)

  • Never get tired of this. So good!

  • wow this man and your´s guitar and michael´s voice wow

  • Tuck is the best

  • I'm also glad I came.. ;P came through my ears

  • a man from another planet...

  • "Hi, Tuck's my name, guitar's my game. I'm glad you came." (creepy/awkward smile)

  • damn his thumb is so independant from th rest of his hand. It gives an amazing guitar and bass impression. WOW

  • yeah guitar is your game you son of a bitch

  • Y sigue usando la misma guitarra!!!!!!!!! Es un músico freak impresionante!

  • At 2:21 he's looking at the studio guys like "This is MY house, guys -- no one but me can do this!" like a 10-year-old who just stole cookies with his mom right there! Master! Master!

  • @TallSomeone

yeah, smugass:-) got the skills to do so.

  • Did anyone notice how high his pants are?

  • @270Gmoney just like how people these days wear them so low... it was "cool"

  • @270Gmoney it was the 80s...

  • @270Gmoney Size 46 inch chest pants !! Not so easy to play even with big pants on !

  • @270Gmoney That matters .... sheesh ...you're an idiot

  • @270Gmoney Yea. He got fat! He has Dunlops' disease. His belly done lopped over his belt line. I like his playing. He seems to be self taught. His technique shows so. But that is why he is good. But does he not look like such a geek in his facial expressions. So white and animated ouch

  • around 1995 I saw him and Patti play in Atlanta Ga and he did a solo of Getaway by Earth Wind and Fire... UNREAL

  • He looks like Michael Jackson! I love them both! even though i cant dance, but i could rock! but this Tuck is one guitar monster!

  • he is the man awesome tuck

  • <3

  • Impressive.

  • Damn!!

  • hahahaha eargasms

  • He is so amazing!!!!

  • Wow,magic from 1:00 on....

  • Love this arrangement!! Is it just me or either a) his hands are really big or b) his guitar neck is tiny. It almost looks like a toy guitar on the left hand closeups but it looks properly proportioned when it shows the full screen

  • he is born to be a guitar man

  • wow. im really glad i watched this!

  • his pinky is ridiculously long and flexible. more proof tuck is a robot

  • John Mayer must have spended years studying this guy -

  • Unbelievable...

  • index finger on the first fret, little finger on the fifth, still without effort! 1:25

  • <3 his shorts.

  • great playing!

  • 'Hai, Tuck is my name, guitar is my game, glad you came.'

    Everything is just perfect =D

  • No, he doesn't teach this song in his video. It's just an intro to the video. But he teaches a shit-load of techniques in the video, in detail. A veritable lifetime of stuff, and things that you can apply to different songs. GREAT video.

  • "tuck's my name and guitar is my name, glad you came" ,sweet line.

  • hehe, is that kevin bacon?

    KILLER PLAYER!!!!!!

  • very..........beautifull!!

  • alright not the best

  • does he teach this song in detail in his video lesson??

  • I met him (and his wife Patty) on a Jazz cruise back in 1990. Very nice couple, and watching him play is almost hypnotizing. How can he keep the bass, chords and melody going at the same time?!

  • -mouth drops- HOLY SHIZZ NAPS, THIS IS AMAZING !!! best guitar player i've seen so far .

  • @jansenvu check out tommy emmanuel

  • @bimwopbarn Not to mention Pierre Bensusan(acoustic celtic/chinese/french/other culturally-related styles), Phil Keaggy(a master at using Loop & other effects for acoustic(and electric), Don Ross & Andy Mckee(both acoustic, very similar styles if not identical(not in a negative way :), Eric Johnson(electric), Joe Satriani(electric), Al Petteway(acoustic), Leo Kottke(12 string acoustic(mostly)), Martin Simpson(acoustic), Ed Gerhard, so many amazing guitarists =}

  • just my opinion but he is the best guitr playerI have EVER seen! =)

  • Wow.. been listening to acoustic versions of this song (I've always loved the acoustic), and happened across this video. All I can say is wow. I've never felt like I could hear a guitar singing words before.

  • I use the very same right hand technique on his mum's burger :) FTW

  • I love the look on his face when he plays, like "ho hum...wonder what's for dinner tonight?"

  • wow so much talent ..!

  • Beautiful, this is a good song, I like how touch the strings!

  • Who needs a backing band when you play like this guy. Amazing.

  • Technical and musical master of his craft. Amazing.

  • amazing reminds me of keith jarrete

  • Creative, talented and great to listen to and watch, even the different ways you strum and pick the guitar contribute to the unique sound, of the attack, never mind the excellent chord transitions, the licks, dextrous fingering and the impressive harmonies and voicings, there is just so much going on. I only hope people watching this video truly appreciate the amount of work and talent that goes in to producing music like this. You have my respect and appreciation Tuck!

  • Your AWSOME!!! Excellent Work...

  • This is certainly not his best rendition of this fab arrangement. Oh dear...

  • hey....YOU pllay it and ~We"ll comment

  • Why does everyone get SOOOOO defensive? Is it a criminal offence to make constructive criticism?!?!

The point of these comments is surely for everyone to have the opportunity to give their considered opinion, not to be shot down in flames by people acting like spoilt children...
