  • yes the evo won....the honda had no excuses. Evo's are tough to beat because of the traction advantage. There is no horsepower/technological advances at all.

    Thats the same 4g63 found in the eclipse. Mitsubishi must learn to progress and create better engines not by putting bigger turbo and cams and calling it a day. 1992 eclipse will run your evo down. being that its awd and can produe the same hp as you while being in a lighter chassis. honda is the most advanced comapny. prove me wrong.

  • You have no idea what you're talking about. The 4g63 between the 1992 Eclipse and the EVO is almost completely different. The cylinder heads use a fast burn compression chamber, MIVEC (known to you as VTEC) is used, the bottom end is completely different. It uses different pistons, and different rods. The crank is modernized as well. In the head you have sodium filled valves, etc. Revised coolant flow, everything about it is better. The only thing that's the same is 4G63, the engine code.

  • first off, its driven, not drove, and secondly, i drove a time attack single turbo crx with a 2.2, it was fast as hell, but he had well over $12,000 invested, and for that price, there is MUCH better and MUCH faster rides he coulda used. the weight was phenomenal, but the power just wasnt that of my buick. my buick absolutely DESTROYS corners, but thats how it was built. all in all, i hate hondas, and thats a matter of personal opinion. slow, horible in winter, no traction, they just fail. IMO

  • you apparently don't factor in all of the safety systems, and electrical systems. electrical and safety are alone, about 6K. you have to have a custom turbo setup, thats about 4-6 grand, not to mention all the safety stiffening, also need a nice suspension, and don't get me fucking started on tires. stock axles are good but if you wanna make more than one run, you need custom axles, another $1k for racing rims, Plexiglas windows, and all the fucking carbon fiber. do the math again.

  • wrong. Anti-lag is a setup where the engine intentionally retards ignition between shifts with the valves open to cause a backfire, in turn spooling the turbo. Launch control has a similar (but different) principal in where it retards ignition timing to the point of causing a backfire to spool the turbo, but ONLY ON THE LAUNCH, AND NOT BETWEEN SHIFTS.
