If only someone could post a video of Sonic the Hedgehog's cameo in the original Spikeout arcade game (he appears in the Astro Mall stage). I thought it would be nice to see it from the arcade game if possible. Anyway, I remember playing Spikeout: DBO (not Final Edition) in a Nickel City arcade. Such a shame Sega never ported Spikeout to a console, apart from using its engine in Rent-A-Hero No.1 (Dreamcast) and Battle Street.
Its cause it was built on the Dreamcast Rent a Hero #1 game engine (which is a game I liked). So when you compare it to others like Beat Down Fists of Vengeance and Urban Reign, it kinda comes up flat.
You can do so much awesome combos and bugs on SPK FE rather than SPK BS.
In terms of A.I. and difficulty, Spk FE is far more harder than Spk BS. Therefore, all the hardcore players still perfer play the FE version in Arcade in Asia.
P.s The Wild rider is really like a Jet Set Radio version on Arcade. I haven't seen this game b4.

character models look a bit blocky compared to the Xbox Battle street, but overall this is a great game, visually and gameplay wise....

LOL: I don't get why people keep saying 'Battle Street' on Xbox is so bad. I went back to play it, and it's a fun 3D Beat-Em-Up.
No, it's not perfect, but it's not really as bad as some people keep on stating it is.
Nice attract mode for the original SpikeOut. I never really played it (or Final Edition) in the arcades at the time they first came out.

I played a bit of 'Beat Down' on Xbox, which was good in it's own way, but I personally thought 'Battle Street' was just more fun overall.

They did bring it to Xbox.
It's called Spikeout Battle Street.
Spikeout Digital Battle Online (Arcade 1998)
Spikeout Final Edition (Arcade 1999)
Spikeout Battle Street (Xbox 2005)which is based on Spikeout Final Edition.
I gotta say the Spikeout FE is the best version.
Check out my video. I got lots of Spikeout combos and bug lists

Yeah, I wasn't including Battle Street as I heard it's crap compared to the M3 originals. I may have to check it out though...
