I got on the radio , telling him "Hey, not sure where you're going but the cut's back here." Push cats run the cut, not the scrapers.
Where are the real tradesman these days? This company will be out of business soon. The cost of replacing dozer tracks and tires for their scrapers will be their dead blow. Hey you guys out there, how about the the scraper dude turning fast away from the dozer. I can't wait until that dozer blade catches that rear tire. Had one blow on me going down the haul road with a 651, thankfully it was the rear. Back in the 70's that tire was 6Gs. I can't imagine what tire and tracks cost now.
none of this 3rd gear dozer pushing the whole length of the cut in one thin pass,optimum would be for a 621 somewhere around 50-60 foot loaded then the dozer hops onto the second scraper pulling up the side,youall canooks need to come down to socal and watch how its done,im a pushpull man myself but i can chase scrapers too
first of all,scrapers shouldnt be stopping waiting on some damn dozer to push em they got to keep moving in second gear then when he hits sink that bowl and get a load should be boiling over in about 11 seconds,and second the second scraper should be somewhere around the first so the dozer doesnt have to back all the fuck way to the start of the cut,its rough grade hog that shit out let the dozer worry about smooting shit up

it is better too run a d2 cat with a one yard pull behind it ,that way you dont have too worry about sorry hands messing every thing up. i have seen a lot of runners not operators .they can tear up more than you can fix and cost you 1000s in one day,
scraper operators are far from bottom of the barrel. i have seen cats and pans cut better grade than "dozer operators". talent is talent and a good operator can do the work on any machine but i do prefer to stay on tracks unless its a blade.........better be good to your scraper hands, they will make you hate your job.

Most of these guys run the scrapers like they have square tires anyhow and most cat skinners I've seen can't control a cut. He has the ultimate control of what happens, most just don't know how to minupulate the scraper to do what it should do.
