Alot of fancy transitions is a major tell tale sign of amateur filmmakers.

You might think it looks cool when you apply them.

But how many professionally produced films do you see with all those transitions?

Less is more!

Stick to cross dissolves, dip to color dissolves.

Also, transitions have meaning.

A wipe means that you're changing locations in the film, dissolves mean "hold that thought" or "the end".
