I don't think it's fair to judge his relationship with Soon-Yi. All we know is what we read in the mass media. None of us know them personally. Legally he was never her father, and she said she never considered him as a father-figure.
its TDGE122. Basically, it is once a week lecture for 3 hours. The professor will talk about variables/factors that consist of Woody Allen's movies. Screenplay, theme, cinematography, casting, music, WA's personal life, etc which affect the way he makes his movies. Then there are 3 essays due, 2 midterm papers and 1 final research paper.
For the midterm papers - You focus on one theme (WA has many, such as psychotherapy, love vs. sex, morality, God is dead, etc)
yeah, so the professor talks for about an hour in the beginning of the class, then we watch a movie (WA's movie generally runs ~95mins average) and he comes back up to hold a class discussion. He lets everyone say anything, and reply his thought & expertise to that opinion. He's really good at leading this conversation, even if someone says something completely random/sometimes silly, he would add something into make that argument more valid.
Great artists can do what they want . They have license to behave strangely, immorally, unorthodoxally, etc..... They can be assholes and not follow the accepted social guidelines. They are above the laws that govern our social mores. Look at Beethoven, Picasso, Gaugin, Chaplin, etc

@neonaction Woody Allen, Richard Lewis, Robin WIlliams, Jim Carey, etc etc. Many comedians are 'neurotic' and there's plenty of information that can explain why that is. Woody Allen underwent psychoanalysis for 30 years and states that he is still agoraphobic and claustrophobic. I see nothing romantic about neuroses, and I don't know of anyone that does, but there are many successful artists that have mental health issues and far more unsuccessful ones who are just as great but less lucky.

@mattjnor98 The thing with Spielberg's films is that they were considered ground-breaking at their time and very often the music was so brilliant that MADE the films the hits they eventually became. However I think a lot of filmmakers nowadays have copied such movies and now Spielberg is a bit behind in originality. He is now, in my view, a regular directing talent whose successful past career precedes him to the point of considerable overratedness (if there's such a word I can use..)

its TDGE122. Basically, it is once a week lecture for 3 hours. The professor will talk about variables/factors that consist of Woody Allen's movies. Screenplay, theme, cinematography, casting, music, WA's personal life, etc which affect the way he makes his movies. Then there are 3 essays due, 2 midterm papers and 1 final research paper.
For the midterm papers - You focus on one theme (WA has many, such as psychotherapy, love vs. sex, morality, God is dead, etc)

yeah, so the professor talks for about an hour in the beginning of the class, then we watch a movie (WA's movie generally runs ~95mins average) and he comes back up to hold a class discussion. He lets everyone say anything, and reply his thought & expertise to that opinion. He's really good at leading this conversation, even if someone says something completely random/sometimes silly, he would add something into make that argument more valid.
