actually what you are seeing here is one of the villains that was cut from the story. Roger moore talked about it in the dvd special features. Roger Moore said, (and I quote) "We hired a big foot to be christopher walkins sidekick. I was scheduled to have 2 fight scenes with him during the first half of the movie. BUT the director had to fire the 'missing link' as he kept on insisting on bowls of m&m's with all the other colors taken out except red. We just said 'fuck that' and fired his ass!"

damonkeyD, i doubt that was a Crew man who wanted to get of the way, the thing jumped off the tree, the drop is probally well over 100 feet. And it couldent of been a fan becuase they would want to be on camera not jump away from the chance. Also they would have edited the fan or crewman out. but becuase nobody knows what it is and dident notice even till this day, we were lucky to have stetubeord to catch this at the corner of his eye. A possible bigfoot! i would say or just a big Ape.

After further observations the pale color appears to be his pants. Still no way it could be the chest as the posture would still be all wrong. and at 10 secs in proofs that is his pants as he starts moving down into the foliage, you can clearly see the pale color move with his legs.

From the posture of the "figure" its definitely not his chest but a sleeve or its back, and it looks like a stripe or color variation on a jacket nothing else.

That is just a crew member it looks like he's wearing a backpack or something as the hump on his back is a different color than the body and appears to be separate from the body.

Back in the day when the fx guys read the script and had to actually craft something in the real world! No cgi cop-outs! Minatures, forced perspective, and mattes were all they had to make us believe what we were seeing was real..them were the days...I'd love to see a good ole rubber monster suit again! Will Smiths "I am Legend" suffered terribly for the use of poorly done cgi monsters...

Sorry to burst your derigible but that is a film crew member below a scale model of an airship. The airship you see is not as big as you might be led to beleive. Look closely at the wobbling. If an fullsize airship were to wobble that violently, there would have to be a hurricane nearby or something. Bond films in those days regularly employed the use of miniature sets as well as miniature, ships, space ships, sattelites, etc.

JV, I did just find these two mentions from the imdb site for the movie, under "goofs":

"Crew or equipment visible: Just after Stacey has climbed out of the mineshaft, a shot of the airship coming over the edge of the quarry towards the camera shows a crew member lurking in the bushes immediately below."

And this parenthetical comment:

"(all of the shots of the airship which show the registration number clearly visible were filmed in the UK)."

Hmmm. Perhaps it's a false alarm (?)
