  • "Just one of my all time favorites...........

  • I saw this performance on PBS TV not too long ago around Christmastime...I always loved the performance, even if other groups participated...I understand the group is supposed to be in our area around Christmastime.

  • Real Talent

  • Wonderful song and singer

  • Emil sang this song to me personally in the late

70's on my birthday at Hogates in Washington, DC. What a fantastic show!!!! Would love to see the Classics again - does anyone know when they will be in the DC area?

  • Recorded 8/3/63, all the singers lived on Garfield Place in Brooklyn. Emil Stucchio was the outstanding lead singer. Emil went on to become a New York City Transit policeman.

  • The Mills Brothers did it better.

  • Emil, you & The Classics & Jimmy Gallagher & The Passions NEED TO BE ON FACEBOOK!!! ;) ;) ;)

  • My husband & I saw your FABULOUS performances last evening in Lancaster, Pa.. It was like being in a "Time Machine"!!! Your songs bring us back to days of carefree, innocent, treasured moments!!! Your tribute to our men & women who have served our country & continue to do so brought tears to our eyes as I know they did yours too!!! May GOD continue to bless you & your loved ones'!!! DooWop FOREVER!!!! With Sincere Best Wishes, Helene & Chris Hill P.S. Emil, you were a GREAT MC!!!

  • Emil, you still got it baby......

  • Talking about WLS remember Dick Biondi ? Listened to him in Rockford in high school. I was back in Chicago in 2004 and he was on an oldies station playing the same songs he was playing in 1964. I couldn't believe it!

  • Man, on a saturday night late, just driving around after the dance thinking...and just hanging out...inocent fun...listing to WLS in Chicago 89 am....

  • Jimmy why are you no longer with the Legends of doo wop??

  • Mr. Emil is fantastic! By the way, band is great!!!

  • Great line up of voices and harmony. Jimmy is fantastic! So are the rest! Great stage performances!

  • What a pleasure to listen to the beautiful group of male voices singing with such grace and coordination. I grew up with this music and it is still my favorite genre.......DOO WOP. The music today is pretty much repetitious garbage.....sorry. Kenny C.

  • @8dakota6, I totally agree :)

    Happy New Year! Denise

  • I love this song. I agree this is one of the best songs ever. I had an oldies party when I turned 50 and we played all of these. Best birthday ever.

  • actually I found it, its Elmer Hopper and John Mills II who were singing.

  • not to long ago on PBS they have a show and at the end a black guy and white guy sang this song together, I'm dying for that version, if anyone has it please put it up.

  • C'est vraiment LA classe !

    Bravo Emil

  • Emil, your great. Wish I could have met you back then and have you sing to me under the stars. Oh well, we all dream of the wonderful past. He has a fantastic voice and is handsome too. Thanks for posting this romantic song.

  • AWESOME!!! Great song, golden voices! I keep wishing that I could go back in time, to that wonderful era when life seemed so simple and innocent, but "Till Then", I will enjoy this great music. Thanks so much for posting!

  • I was in a band that backed them up (he was with Albie back then, a hundred years ago) :)

    Still sounds great !

  • goodie good very nice!

  • This song still gives me goose bumps when i hear it.This music grabs you right in the Heart and Soul.

  • jock u b right on - music is not only the universal language - it keeps you very young - these cats look and sound as young as they did 50? years ago. Love it!

  • I used to be a good friend of Emil when we were with the NYC Transit Police. Great guy, awesome talent! I wish him continued success, health and happiness.

  • My favorite song from the Classics.Thanks.

  • thanks so much for the posting....it doesn't get better than this....

one question though....is emil stucchio the LEAD singer (dark haired guy) in the video?...i have a bet; i say it is and someone said that emil was one of the other guys....and if i am wrong, who is he?

    please settle....

    thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • That definitely is Emil on lead--saw him last summer in Ocean Grove,NJ--still sounds very good.

  • hey rbothe,

thank you very much for settling this...

and you are right; he still sounds great

again, i appreciate it and hope all is well

  • Great vocal harmony.Check out The Mills Brothers version....

  • Denton..EASY. man. he's not even close to Jay Black and Cara Mia he has a tinny sound, he is good but ....

  • yes, but Jay Black (nee David Blatt) cannot sing nearly as well as when he first recorded the song, but that was 43 years ago. Both can still wow audiences though. Actually Jay's, ahem, "adult humor" is better than most comics.

  • I saw them perform 2 yrs ago in Westport, CT. They were TERRIFIC....great presence, timing, voices.

  • I remember this on PBS> It was unforgettable

  • A Classic! Fabulous memories!

  • Beautiful song!! Brings back so many memories.

  • great video

  • Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • One of the greatest

  • What a set of pipes!!!

  • Emil Stucchio is one of the greatest talents ever.He can sing Cara Mia today as good as Jay ever sang it at 25 years old.

  • I well remember this. Well done! Thanks Rick!
