  • Loved it but 2nd fret hammeron needs to be 12 instead of 11.. And it would be good for u to start off by playing the intro so we know how it sounds :) but ignore these other guys, this was very helpful

  • Hey, we all make mistakes. Though I was confused for a moment, it works fine. Go Canada!

  • you are a terrible teacher you can't explain worth shit

  • @getoff747 well this isn't my best guitar lesson video, but i have over 230 guitar lesson videos ( now in HD whith tabs ) on my youtube channel ( 50,000 subscribers and over 31 million views )...

  • @getoff747 And you can barely form a sentence. I think you should treat yourself to a nice lie down. It's clearly been a long day for you

  • this's wrong that's not the position!! however if u like to do it there u'll have to change some notes

  • You guys are assholes i learned Voodoo child riff at the 12 e shape not the 7th fret...same notes different strings , maybe some tone loss/gain but essentially the samE

  • @ptdatnurpipensmkit So you learned the song wrong? I realize there are different ways to play damn near anything, but if you are an octave off it isn't right. There is usually a reason why a song is played in a particular fashion, because it is easiest, or just because it is the only possible way. Losing tone because you can't play a song right is half assed. Learn it right, it will be harder, but will sound better, and you skills will improve more.

  • If you no the notes why bother watching you smartass prick?

  • not 11th

  • is wrong

  • "This lesson is aboot playing Roundaboot, by Yes."

  • not 11th

  • hi, it isn't so bad and quite helpful. Though Steve starts after the flageolets at the 7th fret. I can send you the correct TAB if you want. Kind regards, Janet, The Netherlands

  • @BillGuitar64 dude, it's a different place to play it, but you'll find it doesn't exactly matter where you play it dude

  • It`s wrong,,no doubt about it.

  • Thanks for another great lesson - just curious tho; Why do you play it lower on the neck than Steve Howe?

  • thanks bobby!

  • @BobbyCrispy Please make tabbbsss

  • sweet i did not think id find this vid. Greeaattt post BobbyCrispy

  • wrong!!!! u should take some lessons noob

  • Thanks for posting this! The first hammer on is on the 12th fret not the 11th ... that much i know but I'm here to learn the the rundown at the end of this intro and it sounds good to me. I'll check in later

  • Comment removed

  • go fuck youself kid

  • thanks

  • completely wrong .watch the howees175 vids for the right way to play it.

  • thank you man :)

  • its a boot learning to play round a boot? LOL

  • lmfao

  • realmente , una pelotudez como enseña mejor que se dedique a enseñar otra cosa , falto de tecnica , malisimo................

  • its ok... this song is played in the first 4 frets if you want to play it the proper way!!!! still sounds good up there though once you get out of the intro you got to play the rest and its all in the first 5 frets.

  • @Viperdoom No it's not. Check live versions of Steve playing it.

  • sounds a bit wrong like

  • dude, this is the first lesson iv seen from you were u do something wrong...o well ur still awesome

  • You are playing it wrong crispy

  • The hammered note is flat, and the position after the harmonics is wrong, the notes are played from the 6th string (E), beginning at the 7th fret (B). Kids, don't pay attention to that part, and the song is played on a steel string guitar. (Artistic license, I guess)

  • while we're on the topic of corrections, the first set of harmonics are played together, along with the Low E harmonic, as a chord. Everybody on YT makes that mistake.Ya gotta listen really carefully.

  • Right you are! The way I handle this live is to use a volume pedal, striking the lower note while silent, and pedaling up as I strike the upper Eminor triad. See our YouTube sampler by searching Roundabout - The American Yes Tribute

  • you can not teach for shit

  • and you can't spell for shit ! (bilder!).

  • I've always played more bass notes on the end movement by comping a bass note with every chord starting with the B bass note (an inversion of the G chord with the bass in B), but it sounds just as good without all the bass notes I've been playing and is certainly a lot easier. I don't know which way is correct as I haven't had time to research it, but thanks for the shortcut even if this is wrong and thanks for it again for sure if I've been playing way too many bass notes all these years.

  • you are all wrong dud

  • don't understand the negative comments, jackasses...thanks a lot brother, it is appreciated!!!

  • this guy is doin' it all wrong!

  • i want sleep

  • Dude cmon, this was painfully slow. Anyone who even listens to yes is past beginner lesson. This was good, but this can be learned way faster.

  • you teach very well , thank you

  • my apologies for the negativity, besides that it looks and sounded Great, keep up the good work

  • omg your the best man ty so much!!!!!!

  • The first hammer-on is to the 12th fret, not 11th.

  • noticed that. how bout that bobby? sounded really off.

  • i was talking about the first hammer being on the 12th fret as madbetamax pointed out. my reply didn't come under that coment.

  • "This introduction is aboot...how to play roundaboot by yes!"

Lmao, I'monly ragging on your accent my friend, great vdeo, 5 stars.

  • Thank you so much Bobby. My father used to play this all the time when I was a kid, I would sit on the floor and listen to him play random snippets of songs I knew nothing about. This was one of those tunes I've always wanted to learn since way back in my childhood.

  • Anyone know the name of the other song that starts out similar to roundabout?

  • You're probably thinking about "From the Beginning" from Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Hope this helps.

  • That's the one! Just looked it up.

I love that song. I don't know what it is, but for some reason it just hits you right in the heart for some reason. A very powerful song and rift that goes along with it.

    Thanks!

  • i can never figure out this kind of comment on a lesson video....if you know exactly how it's played then why are you watching this lesson in the first place????

  • @BobbyCrispy there are wrong notes in there.

  • @BobbyCrispy for further learning purposes. I know how to play Stairway to Heaven, doesn't mean that I couldn't use work on it or maybe an easier fingering, or a different chord shape. I watch video lessons on songs I know to perfect them, as I'm sure most do. His comment was that your lesson on a song is not accurate, he pointed out how you could teach people the accurate song. If you are going to put up a lesson, do it right, don't teach people the wrong way. I do appreciate what you do.

  • if this is wrong then please show us how to play it the right way, i would love to know!!

  • @BobbyCrispy

sounded good but one pull sounded a bit off its the 12 fret u pull off

  • bobby, I'm tring to teach my 13 and 5 year old the classics and your lessons are just perfectthanks

  • Wow i love your guitar.. what make is it?

  • Sounds like the original minus the 11 hammer on which should be a 12. The correct way to play it, like Steve Howe does, is to play 7th fret, 5-7-5 hammer/pulloff sequence, then to third fret all on high E, then up to b string seventh fret.

It sounds almost identical, but if you want to be a stickler about it.

  • are you finger picking or using a pick.

  • Nice, but hammer on at 11th fret? I think 12th fret sounds more like the original.

  • Exactly what I was thinking. But for some reason all the tab sites online say 11. I play 12 though cause it sounds better

  • Always wanted to learn this - thanks!! Hey, can you do intro to Heart's "Crazy on You"?

  • Roundabooooooooot

  • LOL! yeah, i was thinking about the "roundabooot" thing when i was making the video,hehe....

  • Well at least it'd be better than the Dublin attempt (which would be "Rowndabouweh")

  • good job bro

  • nice

  • Awsome, thx Dude!

  • sweet vid man! keep it up!
