A closer look at Ellen G. White's cautions regarding this subject reveals that, in context, she is not speaking against the certainty of a believer's present standing with God. She is warning against the presumptuous "once saved, always saved" teaching of eternal security--those who claim "I am saved" while continuing to transgress the law of God.

You know, I've struggled with this a lot myself.There's a gospel being preached now in most churches that says once saved always saved.By that meter one could conceivably gain salvation one day and go get an eightball of cocaine and a bag o dope.Fearlessly sinning to his or her hearts content.Secure in the knowledge that they are saved.Jesus warned against this and said one who did that would be counted a non believer,So, the truth falls some where inbetween.

@classiq876 Look, there is no doctrin or dogma that saves.Only a spiritual connection with Jesus saves.He sends His spirit to teach us.If we are wise,we will listen to it.If we get off the path,we must immediately get back on.That is repent and return.There is no particular church that I am aware of that even helps one do this.Really,no one except Jesus can be trusted to lead one to safety.

Jesus said in the Gospel of John that there will come a time when all who are in the graves shall hear His voice. I believe it's John 3 but I'd have to check. When Paul said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord don't you think Paul was talking about Bible meditation and not an out of body experience or wafting off to God's presence immediately when you die especially since Jesus said you'd be sleeping in the grave? Professors are frequently out of the body dwelling on math.

Don't waste your time on pointing your fingers at other religions. My father has taught me to look at youself first before you can judge others. I am a friend of people with different religions and I don't judge them for what they believe. I love them all and I believe that God would pick individual from different Churches. The Church won't save us.... PEACE!!!!!

No doubt, that the SDA church has issues; but what church doesn't? These people are painting a false image here, giving the impression that their experience constitutes the norm. That simply isn't true. They have also taken many things out of context, and are therefore guilty of bearing false witness against the SDA movement. Either they are intentionally lying or they are ignorant of much of the subject matter that they are presenting.

Give me even the smallest chance to believe this speaker. I do agree with Sola Scriptura and this speaker in this regard. Isn't it true that Adventists believe Mrs.White is the last profit of the remnant church? If she said there was another yet to come then she would disprove her own understanding?

I'll look at different copies of the great controversy but the one I have ends at page 383, at 00:30 you ask me to read from page 483 forward. When you challange us to research perhaps you should start yours first. I'm still willing to listen to the rest of this series... if only to see how you misunderstand what Adventists believe.

But the Bible clearly states that we are judged by our works but we are saved by the blood of Jesus. Why are you guys twisting it like that? How can you say you are saved by the blood of Jesus and then do not do His will which is His ten commandments among others? Faith plus works is the formula friends!

@damianplus this is not so about death, why then would Paul also say that those who are dead in Christ will be resurrected with new bodies. Does that mean when Christ returns our souls will then come back to earth from Heaven to get the new bodies and then go back to Heaven? that makes no sense. The evidence is overwhelming that when you die you sleep until resurrection morning. Even Lazarus didn't have a story after he came back to life because he knew nothing.

I pretty sure when the people get their second body they don't "go back to heaven" it says in the bible that a new heaven and earth would be created, and the kingdom of heaven woul be on Earth, hence the need for new bodies I suppose.

@owaffs The 1000 yrs spoken of by John in Revelation is talking about the period of time when the saints will be in heaven for a 1000 yrs and Lucifer will be alone on earth (bottomless pit) The overwhelming evidence is clear throughout the Bible that the dead is asleep look at the miracles that Jesus did in raising people from the dead.
