Man, every stray dog in India should be killed because they leave their droppings all over the place. And they might contain rabies like this one. This might sound cruel, but it might save a lot of lives as well.

I watched the video several times, but I couldn't find the proof of that dog being infected with rabies. What makes you think that, let alone post it on YT deliberately misleading the viewers? Poor dog is lying on the ground in the presence of camera-guy (at least) and, as I saw, there are people passing by. Rabid dog would certainly not be so tranquil, you know? And comments....99% of those who commented would kill the dog in order to 'save' him. A perfectly healthy dog.

It is in the stage of rabies known as "Dumb" rabies, in which the animal cannot really move regularly and it hallucinates and makes vocal calls because it's throat is slowly closing. The only thing to do now is shoot it.

@jamesinont The only way to tell for certain that an animal is rabid is to test the brain for the virus. Also, not all rabid animals are aggressive. Sometimes the only signs are odd vocalizations and paralysis, then death.
@jamesinont This is not always the case. A dog with rabies can actually become very docile & shy with the onset of rabies along with a hypersensitivity to light. While aggression & foaming at the mouth are also possible as well as trouble with motor skills, those are not the only symptoms of rabies. While you can't know until the brain tissue is examined, I would bet this one does suffer from rabies and the vocalizations are the onset of paralysis of the vocal cords which can also happen.

No one is responsible for their care. Secondly even if people did "own" the dogs, they can't even afford to feed/medicate themselves in that country- let alone take care of an animal you happen to feel emotional about. Not everyone has the resources at hand that we do. Educate yourself, you sound ugly.

Very possibly had hookworms. VERY PAINFUL! It normally kills a dog in a week or two. If your dog won't eat and appears to be in pain, smell it's breathe. If it smells really weird, it probably has hookworms.

@LoveLikeAHurricane If it was rabid there was a .01% chance of saving it since rabies is nearly always fatal once it presents symptoms.

I cried after I watched so what brought me back was the pain it caused me yesterday. For a start, most dogs in India don't have owners/people to care for them. They just live amongst the population, much like feral cats, pigeons and rats do in ours. No one is responsible for their care. Secondly even if people did "own" the dogs, they can't even afford to feed/medicate themselves in that country- let alone take care of an animal you happen to feel emotional about. Not everyone has the resources at hand that we do. Educate yourself, you sound ugly.
