  • One of my all time favorite Prine songs. You sound a little like young Loretta Lynn.

  • Nice cover! You have a good voice for this song.

  • Wish you would sing some more, I love listening to your stuff...

  • if American Idol had people like this i would watch it

  • hey that was pretty good, iam a big j.p. fan.

  • i love your voice! i'm so happy how well this turned out to be. good job!

  • Good Job girl keep it up you sound good. God Bless

  • You did a great job on this great song, love your timing and style as well as your singing. I'm gonna check out your vids to see if you do any other John Prine songs. Thanks for this one.

  • love the delicate grit & sincerity in your voice - fits prine songs like a glove

  • Nice version. Good timing, good voice. That's what it's all about.

  • your hot

  • Nice job.

The "poor guy" is actually the U.S. The song is an allegory of the war in Vietnam.

  • love this song...pretty sure Prine reads my mail....

  • very nice , what a great job !

  • Really well done!!

  • Good Job.

  • very well done,indeed

  • Another 5 star video :)

  • Good job - love your beautiful face but wish I could have seen you playing the guitar too!

  • I love John Prine and your rendition is superb! I play a lot of his stuff. Love his style and sense of humor!

  • Nicely done.

  • Great song, awesome rendition. I got to see John 30 years ago in Cleveland when he opened for Arlo Guthrie. Our band, the Bar Stoolz have recently covered several John Prine songs. I'm amazed at how many people don't know him.

    Timeless. Thanks!

  • Some people sing covers just to sing them. This rendition is from the heart, the soul, the way John Prine intended this song to be sung. I give big kudos to this performance, especially at 1:00 am after a concert. Her flag decal will get her into heaven after all.

  • Great performance

  • Well done One of my favorites

  • Great job! One of Prine's great metaphors.

  • Thanks for the video response. My version omits the second Prine talking verse, but at one in the morning, what would you expect? Checked to see if I could rate yours five stars a second time and guess what, it worked!

Keep it up. Love your stuff. Enjoy learning just like you. Trust me, you are way ahead of me . . . isn't life grand?

  • Some nice runs on an unexpected moment in real life . . . All great things happen after one in the morning. As John Prine comments on Blaze Folley's song, "Clay Pigeons, "I should have stayed up later."

    Isn't life grand?

  • beautifully done!

  • So nice to come across such a good cover of one of my favorites.

  • Great job! Love some John Prine.

  • My wife and I love John Prine. This is one of my personal favorites, and you nailed it! You've inspired me to put one out there!

  • superb

  • fantastic

  • I enjoyed you version of this song very much.
