The Barossa SUCKS! They're a close-knit gossiping bunch of assholes. If you're not one of them, you're not welcome. They will lie about you, spread rumors and shun you. Unless you like wine, there is no reason to go there. Beautiful countryside? Pssh. Only if you like dead grass and dirt. Did I mention the drug and homeless problems? I've found many a pill on the local bus, and they have programs in schools telling you how to help the homeless. There is more I could say, but the count is out.
what the hell are you on, i personally live in the Barossa and its great compared to all the other city towns that are just full of traffic, i havent seen any homeless people around where i live. im getting a hint you aren't a local...
Of course I'm not a local! That's exactly what I'm on about! If you're not born and bred there, the residents shun you, they treat you as an outsider, like scum.
Dude, If you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. I used to live in Angaston and what you said about them is far from the truth. I found the community warm and welcoming. And NO I DID NOT COME FROM THERE ORIGINALLY. I went to high school there only.
Why are you so angry? It sounds as if you were actually run out of town by a sadistic gang of baseball bat-wielding Barossa locals all because you *weren't* local?? This all sounds very personal. If that really did happen that truly sucks and I'm sorry it happened, but aren't you exaggerating a little bit?
While I'll admit I said it in an extremely furious tone, I'm not exaggerating. Everything I said was true. Our family left because my mother was on the verge of a nervous breakdown from being shunned and gossiped about.
Oh my gosh, that is awful...I personally know not everyone there is not like that, but it really is too bad that your family was treated so poorly by a few bad apples. I come from a small town right by San Francisco, and I know a a lot of snobby people who have nothing better to do with their time than gossip...
not many people realise is that the barossa is a german settlement first, wine second, bugger off to the southeast if you are after wine and dont just visit whatevers in the broshure talk to some shop owners and they'le give you some direction, top place to visit
.Linkes butcher in Nuri, their triple smoked meat is mouth watering, on their smoking days you can smell it from a mile off lol. ask a few locals on where to see the real barossa and read up on its history.
