Fatal Portrait = Extremely underrated! I've been listening to it since I was about 6 (Thanks dad!) and I've always loved it! FUCK YEAH KING DIAMOND AND - ESPECIALLY - MERCYFUL FATE!
You cant beat that line-up denner and la roque and m.Dee and grabber on the bass I remember I won tickets when they played the fatal tour on the east coast being 12 at the time my mom was like hell no,I still bring it up to her once in a while, what a bummer
Wow, I have this concert recorded in a ancient BETA tape, (remember those?) which means I cannot watch it anymore. I got it back in 1988 from a friend, who got it from...who knows. Maybe a 1,000th generation copy that we got when I was living in Monterrey, Mexico.
Brought me good memories for the old days, when we used to hang out every friday and saturday night and listen to the new albums by King Diamond, Destruction, Kreator, Sodom, Assassin, Slayer, oh well. Thanks for uploading this clip.
My absolute favourite song ever! I met Michael Denner (former guitarplayer of Mercyful Fate) yesterday and I was actually wearing a white dress and we talked about that song. That was so fun.
this is really my fav King song as well... I think the Fatal Portrait album was highly underrated - not that Abigail wasnt a killer album but Fatal was every bit as excellent!!!! Just my opinion...
Michael can weave many great melodies together in the context of one song. Listen to to Denner's outro solo on "Black Horsemen"-godlike-pure emotion and straight from the heart.
Melodic sense at the genius-level. I don't toss the term genius around much, but it applies here. Denner is one of the most melodic players you will ever hear. He is simply on a higher level than everyone else when it comes to melody.
Plus za Kinga! Torchę lepszą jakość mają moje kasetki z Takta i Barona z Diamondem... Ludzie! Oddam dużo za CD "Fatalnych Portek"

damn he puts alot of demand on his voice in terms of different vocal parts.... and why do they have to play so much faster than the album version..?

Hey dude, King Diamond isn't Thrash Metal, it's Heavy Metal with Black Metal Lyrics.

Even when he's blazing away at top speed, his solos are still incredibly melodic-for example his solos in "Lurking in the Dark" or "The Oath."
