oh. those are traditional toilets. not all schools have modern toilets. the teachers have the high tech toilets though in the staff bathroom. you have to have strong legs to use the traditional ones though.
yup it's all true. in my host families house...you can do your business, and wash yourself while you're still on the toilet. you can like clean up, and yea.
Costco tried to sell the Japan style water wash toilet lid attachment for only $199.00. I wanted to buy it so bad, i did, really The only problem is, American home builders did not place an electric outlet behind the toilet. So despite the fact that I want one. I am not prepared to pay the $1200 fee to wire and replace the dry wall to instal a plug behind the commode. What a shame because they really are one of the most civilized inventions ever!
@Nat4Brendan Noelia was the most beautyfull girl I had the privilege of meeting. She was a coworker in a bingo place where I used to work. God, is a genius, and I thank to god for giving me the opportunity of see such beauty. (sorry my sucky inglish)
I am pretty sure that thing on the top is similar to a filter, or purifier... otherwise it could be used to make the water blue and deoderized. forgive me if i cant spell,
do u live in tokyo????, if u r in uni what is the level of ur japanese ???? i want to study in japan as an exchange university student, so please help me out, thank you....
@AjejejejejeA Tokyo's not the only city in Japan, you know. XD My Japanese is pretty good, but most exchange programs at Japanese universities don't require you to speak English because they often have programs in English, but you should be able to speak at least a little so you can get around. But honestly, you're asking the wrong person about these things, your uni will have the most information.
@brotherannie well it's not the only one, but most of people choose Tokyo because it's the most popular, biggest city in Japan and is a tourist place too...soo...it's logically that he said Tokyo, but...the other side of this is that he doesn't know any other. It's like for foreigners in USA, the most common city what comes in head when we hear USA is New York, like they would know any other, but still knowing that it's not the only city, it's because it's head-city.
Which high school do you think I should go to in japan. there seems to be like A LOT of them and when I was looking at one of the study abroad programs there was different place and high schools and I was like "oh noes I dont know what to pick"
When I went to Japan, I thought that their public bathrooms were WAY cleaner than any of the ones in America. Also, 95% of the time, there was always at least one "normal" toilet in a bathroom (even though they looked like they came from spaceships). Then again, I went to Tokyo, so maybe it varies...?
My aunt bought my mom a Japanese toilet a few years back, it's the best thing ever. Whenever my friends come over I'm like 'You have to see my toilet!' >_>;

Thank your lucky stars they didn't have a squat toilet.
HachiZenki 1 year ago 2
@HachiZenki I think it's good to have squat toilets in public, because you shouldn't be touching your butt to public toilets in the first place
BUT if you have one in your house... how the hell do you... you know. oh god.
TENSHl 1 year ago
@TENSHl Heh that's why the public toilets have the 'ass gaskets'...either that or just hold it till you get home.
