@speedyink Please, don't pretend like hooking up your iPhone to iTunes or doing a delta update from settings is more complicated than Androids method. Have fun waiting 6months for ICS, if the Play even gets an update. But you're right, even if it doesn't you still have the option to get a hacked ROM of ICS and hope it doesn't brick your phone to get the current version of Android :)
@FAKEBC 1. We're not talking about updates. Install an older version of iOS on your iPhone, then tell me that. Updates are easy on both devices
2. Play get's ICS, been confirmed. But hey, I'm running a beta of it already, so I don't need to listen to you bullshit.
3. Oh noez, my phone is bricked. Oh wait, no it's not, after a TON of messing around with it. Meanwhile, I had to kill my bro's GPS in his iPhone in order to friggin unlock the carrier
@speedyink Why exactly would I ever need to downgrade my iPhone? It does everything I need perfectly.
Sure, Sony has been good with the OHA but every other Android maker (especially Samsung) have abandoned their customers.
Are you really recommending everyone hack their phone to remove all the crapware from the makers/carier? Idk about you but when I spend $200 on a phone I want it to just work. No unremovable trial apps, no laggy skins, NO HACKING, and the latest updates. But hey, thats just me
@FAKEBC I needed to install a specific firmware on my brothers 3g in order to unlock it through jailbreak. I couldn't install it because iTunes phones home and makes you install the latest firmware. Instead I had to break his gps permanently.
I'm not gonna argue about what your personal preference is. Some people like simple shit, some people like customizable shit. It's a never ending argument that I don't have the time for. I'm done here
@speedyink I see, from your description you made it sound like you installed a pure copy of Gingerbread to remove Sony/carriers bloatware. But you just did a standard software update, right?
@FAKEBC look at you, trying to make it seems like to know something. No, not a standard software update. I could, but I don't roll like that. Because I can actually do cool shit with my phone I decided to install a custom firmware that's been optimized, overclocked, and upgraded. But hey, have fun with your jailbreaking and it's infinite possibilities /s
@speedyink Are you serious? That was my point from the very beginning. You cannot say the Xperia Play is superior and has a faster bootime to the iPhone if you install a custom OS on it. Its like recommending a computer to someone and saying to make it work better all you have to do is install Ubuntu.
Wow, so all you have to do is bootload a new version of Gingerbread on your phone to get rid of the Crapware to make the phone usable!! And you are still saying it is superior?
@FAKEBC Considering your wording I see you have no idea what you're talking about. It's pretty much the same process to FLASH a firmware on this phone and an iPhone. In fact, when it comes to installing the firmware YOU want on the Xperia, it's worlds easier than installing a different version of iOS on an iPhone.
Oh, and the phones completely usable stock, not sure how a long boot time renders a phone useless...
yes now xperia play is fast than iphone 4 because of 2.3.4 ice cream sandwich......

@FAKEBC You're point is bullshit, considering I never tried to tell anyone anything was superior. Please, quote me.
You're just a little fruit cake looking to bitch about something.
