Michael Cleary looked terrified when Killer would chase him around the ring after Mike baited him on the Saturday Morning Wrestling. Good thing Mike was a world class sprinter! But the case I referred to above involved a reporter named Frank Bennett, who used to report on This Day Tonight, forerunner to The 7:30 Report. I am sure I am not the only person to remember it. It was in the late 1960s.
I remember in the 1960s an ABC current affairs interviewer was doing a piece on wrestling and decided to interview Killer. He suggested that wrestlers were just a bunch of ham actors and not real athletes. Big mistake. Killer grabbed him by the lapels of his freshly pressed suit, pulled him off the ground and pressed his humungous nose into his flabby face and began screaming: "Whaddyasay. You think I'm clown..", or words gto that effect. Naturally, I was rather titilated by the spectacle.

He invited killer to dispaly his famous claw hold. Killer obliged, but got a little carried away. He gripped done abs with his huge, powerful hands and squeezed with so much forced that Don cried for help before almost passing out. Don was hospitalised as a consequence. Champion footballer...
Its been asked already but does anybody know the name of the theme music to the tribute. Very similar to the piece in Shawshank Redemption when he escapes but not the one!!
i spent many an hour watching killer wrestle on tv. the greatest "heel" ever. it makes me so sad to see the stars from my youth pass on. i'll always remember watching him do an interview after a match and he threw the interviewer/announcer into a bunch of chairs.one of my all time favorite wrestlers when wrestling was great.you will be missed walter but i will always smile when i think of you.RIP .
