  • @Coughlan000

What's your problem with "the secret" it's a great book/film.

You should rather be thankfull, it showed us the secret of wealth and happines, which is:

    -

"Write books with absurd and perky claims, spice it with some cheap psychological tricks, and hordes of gullibly people will supply you with shitloads of money."

    -

How can you doubt it? Many people proved that this secret works.

For me Bob is the new L.Ron.H! All you truth-loving, fact-users should stop hating ;)

  • I love this! The commentator is hilarious when he talks to his monitor.

  • Also: Where is the link to Scientific American?

  • I think by 'vibration' he's referencing the vibrating 'strings' that make up everything in the universe as shown by String Theory. I hate it when non-scientists use concrete theories and evidence based research into catchphrase rhetoric.

  • you look kinda hot without hair.

  • thanks for this vid.. i also think its bullshit

  • Looks like half-baked spiritual cliches designed to prey on egoic neediness ...

The secret is there is no secret.

  • Thansk man!

  • odd proctor calls himself a philosopher as more times then not philosophy deals with ideas suggestions to make people think and ponder and not necessarily fact and also not what to do and not do but the philosophers idea

  • 5:13 Did that douche just justify his stupid philosophy in part on the idea that people don't say "an hand"?

No, I *don't* say "an hand". I speak English, dipshit.

  • The motion ocean is a water bed.

  • Doctor of Metaphysical Science (MSC D) is a copyright (sic) of the University of Metaphysics Sadona Arizona. This award is currently on special offer and can be purchased for a one off fee of only $990 dollars or by installments of $25 per month. I get the impression being able to fill in the application ensures one's success but if you have problems at this stage I guess that their tutorial staff can help out.

  • i figured out the "secret" it goes like this ,another asshole has figured out a way to bilk boobs out of their money.

  • Metaphysician means someone who deals with metahysics to people who think metaphysics is magic. It''s not.

  • Whether you believe in "the secret", Christianity, Muslim, or Jewish religion... Something happens when an individual exercises to build a strong belief system... Just look how science breaks down the placebo affect... They "always" take it into account and see how it affects it's research... Faith is a strong tool... Whether you believe or not...

  • There is a lot of incorrect info here. The secret is bullshit and this coughlan guy is nothing more then a hater.

  • give me a cigorettee you fagot :.

  • Bob Proctor?

    No fucking relation of mine...

  • I watched this in a class yesterday and wanted to barf. Not because it was a bunch of woo wrapped like a documentary, but because it was required viewing for the class.

  • @Dunebolt It's good to know Coughlan has finally penetrated the school system.

    *Crab dances away*

  • What if I kept thinking about escaping the Law of Attraction? Would it be like dividing by zero?

  • After Police Academy I could never take anyone called Proctor seriously.

  • lol 4:44

  • Cool, I missed this first time 'round.

  • fuck yes, fuck them. fuck!!!

  • @ericplayzbass2

Get an education you ignorant shit. The purpose of philosophy is seeking truth and improving the world, sometimes its self-indulgent, sometimes its not, but I guarantee you don't have half the brains from smoking weed and being a jackoff then Aristotle did. You can be taught to think differently, just not in a day, it takes practice every day like everything else. You're still stuck behind the veil, and "a joint" and some "music" can't make you think differently, DISTRACTIONS

  • toughs dont change the world but the world changes the toughs

  • Endorsed by people that are already extreemly succesful..

  • thats what we call.... closet evangelist, its no secret Bob! ;)

  • Oh yeah, I saw a review of this stinker on ThatGuyWithTheGlasses

  • Ah whoops, wrong bad movie called The Secret.

  • Dick for ruler of the world!

  • Lol. A family member got me to watch this. Then they tried to get me to follow it, even after clearly showing them my "fucking really?" face at the end of the thing. They didn't try for very long.

I couldn'tve suspended my disbelief with an adamantine choke chain.

  • Sounds just like scientology, without the aliens.

  • Oh, I get it now, I've been doing it all wrong. First I ask the universe to heal my disease, BUT continue to see doctors anyway. When I am healed, credit goes to The Secret! It's all clear now!

  • This was on Oprah. Doesn't that mean, it has to be true? It was on OPRAH for the love of the unholy Panda Bears. O-P-R-A-H. You just need to get your vibration, vibrating at the correct vibration Richard. Sea of Motion lotion, law of attraction fraction, and all of that.

  • ..."Philosopher"? What the fuck?

I fucking hate these cunts with fuck all qualifications that sit around, spinning pseudo-whimsical, indulgent bullshit, and get to to call themselves "philosophers", and no one questions it. This October, if I keep my head, I start a daunting seven year trek to get my PhD in Philosophy; it's gonna be hard, expensive and draining, and at the end of it I'll be lucky to get a short term TA position at a half decent uni.

People like Proctor can go FUCK themselves!

  • @niriop LOL! guess what? you are wasting 7 years education on a bullshit degree. Philosophy can't be taught. "Sitting around spinning pseudo-whimsical, indulgent bullshit" is exactly what all philosophers have been doing since Thales of Miletus. You can't be TAUGHT to think differently. That defeats the purpose entirely.

  • @ericplayzbass2 "you are wasting 7 years education on a bullshit degree" I love the subject, and I want to do real research in it, and that requires graduate work so I can access materials, the academics and get published; it isn't bullshit.

Thales was the first of his kind, both philosopher and scientist; his humble origins are excusuble, as are Socrates; are you saying Proctor's spiritualist bullshitting and Thales' and Socrates' well-thought out leaps of genius are intellectually equivalent?

  • @ericplayzbass2 "You can't be TAUGHT to think differently" That's the very purpose of philosophy; it disposes of the "common" common sense most lay people have, and makes them look at the foundations of knowledge, communication and understanding in a manner which goes deeper than say a drunken chat in the pub; philosophy is for the most part thinking about thinking, and that also entails making others think about thinking in new and more penetrating ways, in contrast to your characterisation.

  • @niriop that same outcome could easily be achieved with a joint and some good music.

  • @ericplayzbass2 But only for about an hour, and reading Wittgenstein while stoned is not very helpful :P

  • @niriop I find it hilarious that you mentioned him, because Philosophical Investigations is one of my all-time favorite books to read stoned, along with Thoreau's "Walking" and Plato's Republic

  • @ericplayzbass2 Still on my to-do list I'm afraid

  • @niriop which one lol. or all of them.

  • @ericplayzbass2 I've read parts of each, but can never get around to finishing

  • @niriop well if you have to pick one thing to finish, Walking or Walden are both very good choices.

  • Who actually listens to this idiot and thinks ah now he is talking sense. FFS

  • Sounds like a rehash of Norman Vincent Peale.

  • My ex girlfriend got so mad at me for not believing this bullshit that she became my ex girlfriend.

  • @AdamGLewis Actually, you ought to look up theory in the scientific sense. I'd call this The Hypothesis of Atttraction. Or, more appropriately, The Half Assed Hypothesis of Attraction.

  • We have this lotion Called Motion of the Ocean It comes in a potion What a silly notion It's made with devotion A source of locomotion And if we play our cards right... ...it will cause a commotion With this gimmick... ...I hope to avoid a demotion You see, my boss is Laotian He's known for emotion Star Trek had an episode... ...about the Iotians
  • It seems odd that everyone here forgets that everything that they see around them, came out of someones brain. Everything originally comes from thought.

    Am I wrong?

The people who created all those things that we take for granted, created them by manifesting their thoughts into reality.

  • Everything is made of matter. Matter is energy. Energy is vibration.

What the fuck do you think holds everything together?

  • @doesthismakeanysense No, matter is made of matter, and it's an extremely small portion of the universe. Energy is the capacity to do work, which brings us to the point: thoughts that aren't turned into actual work are just thoughts.

  • @IamLiterallyRetarded Indeed my friend. Matter is a word that doesn't do justice to the concept that it represents. It's sort of like "the big bang". Sounds great, but what is it?

    What holds matter together?

  • @doesthismakeanysense My guess is silly putty.

  • @ZombieBite1991 that was my second guess

  • I'm subscried to COughlan000. But where is his 666 channel?

  • @Sploog321 removed reported for breaking some YT rules by viewer with a bug up ther butt ..crap basicly

  • @Sploog321 It got permanently suspended - subscribe to Coughlan616 instead, that's basically the replacement.

  • @Sploog321 subscribe to my 616 channel that is the main channel i use these days

  • @Coughlan000 haha thanks

  • @Coughlan000 You forgot to put the links in the description on this one.

  • @Coughlan000 Why did you make three channels?

  • this guy is necessary to filter out the people on the planet that are fucking daft enough to believe it.

  • Common sense would tell you that the word is not the object. Including your name.

Is the word "water" written on a piece of paper, or said out loud really water?

    It's called philosophy.

  • Good video.

  • Mark Ewing obviously attracted all those disturbing emails to himself because subconsciously he seeks the attention of insane people. It's no accident.

    .

"The Secret," guarantees success by visualizing the gullibility of the market. Write a book about knowing something about becoming successful without working for it and sell it to a bunch of lazy, clueless fuckwits, and before you know it you'll have a fat bank account and a herd of pet lemmings.

    That's the "Secret."

  • @DeathofSpeech

I wish I had written your comment. Does that mean clever and insightful comments will land in my lap?

    ;-)

  • i watched "the secret" and was basically high for 2 years believing i'm special.

i finally realized what a fucking idiot and a douche i was....

i am currently not holding any supernatural beliefs, and everyone says they can finally think of me as a human being.

  • Individuals led by rational self-interest opt to purchase Bob's products, therefore Bob adds value to society. Just like many other successful entrepreneurs before him (also motivated by rational self-interest), Bob is a shining example of the self-correcting market at work. Who needs socialized medicine (slavery) when rationally self-interested cancer patients have these fine alternatives at their disposal. Your mockery of him proves that you don't understand econ 101. I am not brainwashed.

  • Bob's talking bout good vibrations.

    But isn't giving me excitation.

  • @SzlampStudios You are awesome.

  • The law of attracting huge sums of dosh for a basic crap. Proof it works for him.

  • This is false. The law of attraction exists, but it doesn't work like it's presented in "The Secret". It's not that simple as having "good vibrations" or some shit like that. 7:30 should be enough to clarify things. So the first rule is Know exactly what you want. That's not "good vibration" crap. That's an exact thing to know and pursue. For instance it doesn't work if you want something generic as money. It works if you want for example to be an athlete or something. "EXACTLY what you want".

  • @Yamakoto120

So you're saying if I really want to be an athelete (again) I just have to want it, even though I'm a dialysis patient. Yeah okay fucktard.

  • @JamesThWilliams I did not say that. Being an athlete includes the ACTUAL FUCKING WORK. Are you doing this on purpose ? You trolling or just dumb as shit ? If you sit on the couch all day, you can't be an athlete sir. I thought that was self-evident. Apparently not. All you really need (if you want something generic as money) is to have a clear definition and path of how to get that money. That's all. The rest comes from you. It's called a focus, and people lack it. That's all.

  • @Yamakoto120

Then it's not a law of attraction it's repeatable exercise and results. But even then no matter how much one some people are simply incapable of becoming athletes. Just like some people no matter how much they study will never become doctors.

  • @JamesThWilliams Well I for one do not agree with that. Everyone can become a doctor, if the correct factors are to play a role, such as their upbringing, study methods, and interest in the profession. Not to mention financial support during the studies. But the secret is more of a morale booster. It offers no real insight, just emotion. Which I think it's the most easy thing to obtain. You don't need a lousy film to motivate you, but you do need a focus. Clarity in actions, not dreams alone.

  • @Yamakoto120

    The secret is bullshit.

And anyone that supports it even a little bit are complete retards.

  • @mecher3k relax mate, it's not a religion. At least not yet. It's just a lousy quick bucks cheap shot morale boosting crackpot philosophy that was / is sold for money in the form of a movie or a book. People will buy shit with "experts" in it, speculating and looking convincing, while the overall product promises rainbows and sunshine. It's why the world sucks so much. They are selling Nothing ! And earning big. feelsbadman.jpg

  • @Yamakoto120

Some people could never be doctors. If someone is intellectually or physically handicapped for example. The same with athletes. I never had a chance at being a player in the NBA but I can focus and try my best to do other endeavors, but some things just could never be for me.

  • Are you sure this guys name isn't "Proctologist"? He certainly seems to be an expert on assholes and the way he dishes out shit argues for vast experience in that field.

This is just "magical thinking" regurgitated. It's the idea that if you just think about things in right way you can manipulate reality. It's at the heart of all religions and unfortunately seems to be part of our consciousness. Thinking can only affect reality if we use it to make rational plans and act on them.

  • Yeh its fucking garbage and shame on Ophra Whinfry for endorsing this shit its disgusting. he.s making a commotion about the notion of the ocean of motion

  • Yeh its fucking garbage and shame on Ophra Whinfry for endorsing this shit its disgusting.

  • The Secret isn't really there as a means for people to improve their lives.

It is a manifesto for personal greed, and exists to salve any of that nasty guilt you might feel when you see starving children on the news.

  • decided to sub after this vid

  • Snake-oil salesman! Dangerous! Even if he says one or two things anyone with a little common sense could think of.

The rest is semi-religious bullshit combined with blaming the victim, and making a fortune while doing so. Despicable.

I bet he's no philosopher, not one with a grade from an accredited university. Where is the dr., MA or PhD? I could call myself "philosopher" too. That doesn't make me one.

  • "If a bird shits on you..."

Oh no, that's not an accident at all! I mean, some people pay a lot of money for it... ;)

  • So *this* is what an old hippie looks like... trying to scam people out of their money so he can score some more rock.

  • as a mother of 4 who experienced a genetic history of abuse and did everything to learn how to stop it - turns out I attracted and created my experiences - hard pill to swallow - I do agree with the secrete at the same time I think it's INSANITY - these people are focused on GREED - so those who attract great wealth create great poverty - eventually it will attract negative experiences lol thoughts do matter but these guys are selling it to manipulate people to be greedy - kind of insane lol

  • @Judy101101 look at Oprah - she teaches how to live your best life yet appears to be over eating so much she is about to blow up - plus she can't seem to find good friends - Obama to her looks like a good guy - trust she is attracting those experiences because she uses this law of attraction herself - she just doesn't have anything good inside herself so she attracts that into her life but money will fool her into thinking she is GREAT and amazing - kind of insane

  • I've always hated the bullshit Jerry Springer comes out with at the end of his show.

  • My sister in law showed me this movie years ago - she believes in it wholeheartedly - too bad. I pointed out to her that a lot of this new agey shit is crap - why do ppl use these powers for only selfish gain - and they all do - they want money or a big-titted gf or wealthy hunk or a new car or house. How about world peace and stopping hunger and violence and the stupidity of our politicians and leaders how curing diseases and brain disorders? Nope - cars and money are more important.

  • they're responsible for jeopardy?

  • I'm only angry that I didn't think of "The Secret" idea to sell first. I guess I attracted someone else to beat me to it.

Oh well. I guess it's back to targeting the fatties with instant weight loss scams. Or maybe the hair loss crowd?

Good thing people have short memories and forget about these things quick. I think I'll get another chance.

  • I'd be long dead if there was any credibility to this guy's ideas.

  • One man's war with pronouns and proper nouns. It's about time some gave those pronoun's the amateur status they deserve.

  • Well, now I don't need to see Abduction. Trailers now tell you pretty much the whole film.

  • Oprah Winfrey is an idiot. Endorsing this loser was bad but back in the 80s she had a guest named Vicki Polin (pretty sure that's her name). She claimed to be a Jew who was raised by a secret sect of Jews who practise child sacrifice. Oprah bought the whole thing.

  • Everyone under the sun is looking for the " cure " of unhappiness .. in all types and variations of ways . The majority hasn't learned to extend themselves in equality, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for any mental imitations of wholeness .

  • I honestly cannot stand the New Agey stuff. It is repetitive and repeats itself from book to book. It just recycles from book to book, different authors plagiarizing the same sources. Some even mask the same rhetoric under different gimmicks, such as UFOs.

  • I decoded David Icke. People take his lizard stuff literally because they're ignorant. The lizard aspect is a metaphorical representation of their sociopathic tendencies and Spartan values, the interdimensional aspect represents how they come from drastically different backgrounds than the "common" person that is orders of magnitude different from them, shapeshifting from how the elite frequently step in and out of roles and being two-faced, and blood drinking from how the working class...

  • (cont.) and middle class are being sucked of energy and exploited to keep the elites' power intact. The ADL said that the lizards were metaphorical representations of Jews, but this is easily debunked because plenty of gentiles are accused of being "lizard" people (e.g., The Pharaohs, Babylonian Kings, British (and most) royal families, the Bush and Clinton families, etc.)

  • @jaymthegenius Fixations are from the fact that any new knowledge can seize hold of a " weak " individual that he no longer sees and hears anything else . He becomes hypnotized by it ..

As you .. I was one of these individual's as well :(

  • Classic. :)

  • ugh, i cant believe my stupid local newspaper actually published a story on "the secret." I need to get out of Calgary.

  • the pause at 5 minutes made me literally guffaw out loud. i think the google search term 6 down was appropriate for this "Success" technique. lol

  • One thing he said did make sense.

I am not "MY" hand because I say my hand.

I am not "MY" body because I say my body.

So I must therefore be my soul...

    wait hang on...

  • If this book actually works, then we don't have to give money to charities, poor countries, or poor people anymore. Just donate a copy of this book to Haiti.

  • Oh piss, not The Secret. My 11th grade English shown us this, not as a part of any lesson may I point out but it was just something she wanted to show us while we had some free time after finishing an exam, and I didn't buy a word of it. Based solely on personal experience and a bit of common sense, I knew the whole thing was bullshit. My teacher however believed this stuff. I wanted to tell her how I felt about this crap so bad, but I kept it to myself since no one asked me about it.

  • You should actually be working under US copyright law, not UK law. Youtube state in the guidelines that any content posted on this website is subject to US law, specifically, Californian law.

  • @Sykotix1 There's a UK version of Youtube, don't'cha know?

  • On the book she tells you not to watch the news, because it creates bad vibrations...What the fuck?

  • @ArFeeDee well that's true, you probably shouldn't watch the news, unless you want to be spoon-fed spin and bias as fact.

  • @ericplayzbass2 Well that depends on what your news source is, People should keep themselves informed on whats going on in the world. If you don't trust a source seek another, Take in the information and make your own mind up....But seeing how your from the U.S I can see were your coming from, with News Broadcastings from Fox and such...

  • @ArFeeDee well yes you have a point. I watch the BBC for American news because they are generally unbiased towards the US. And I look for small independant news sources. Avoid Fox, CBS, MSNBC, NBC, NBC, ABC, and any other large 24 hour program. all you get is bias one way or another.

  • Comment removed

  • Why the hell is there a key floating in the background of the video? Subliminal stuff?

  • The secret is bullcrap but positive thinking is always good... This is from a man who has read the book.

  • Know about the secret from my kungfu teacher, who used its princepals to reach his goals. But not by sitting on his ass and waiting for it. No, he was positieve about succeeding and went to look for chances and took them.

there are a lot of studies of the power of negatieve and positieve thoughts, but it is still no excuse to sit on your lazy ass and wait for it to happen just because you want it.

  • They take away your pay, your pension, your rights... then tell you it's your fault!

  • The Australian TV comedy'The chasers war on everything' did a quite hillarious PWNAGE on this

  • 1. I want a hottie with nice tits.

    2. Gimme hottie, universe!

    3. Oh man, she's sitting on my cock right now!

    4. I'm open I'm open. Oh wait, no hottie, well who cares that was crap.

  • 0:59 They're responsible for Jeopardy and... Celebrity Jeopardy?

  • "The law of attraction, is always working you can never escape it"

Is he talking about gravity? That's JUST a theory! Question gravity!

  • @MarkArandjus Your theory questioning gravity is just a theory so therefore i reject ANYTHING i did not come up with myself.

  • ads?

  • one of my favs =D

  • It's all so clear to me now! I knew that there was more to it than just my dumbass action all this time my ankle got fucked up not because of my playing basket ball after the doctor told me I couldnt play for 6 weeks, but becaue of his negativity in teling me that! what a fucking prick!.. I should sue.. ... The sad thing is you just know they are making money off this video and some dumbass will believe it and end up hurt or worse because of it. Nice video, thumbs up

  • It's a shame my mother became obsessed with this rubbish and still believes it... -sigh-

  • I remember back in my early witchy days (long time ago), I saw a book about 'pyamid power', hyped as a new way to get what you want from the universe. Took me all of 10 seconds to see it was the same old prayer-spell formula repackaged for folks who didnt know any better. Its happened many times before and since. Write some symbols on your arm, visualise what you want, sit in a way that breaks your knees, etc etc etc. Same old bollocks in a different box.

  • I don't know why but 'the secret' reminds me of 'angels and demons'

  • I was actually daft enough to download and read the book. I read it cover to cover (if it had covers...) and found it to be very helpful! It wasted my time quite well. When I read this, I still believed in gods.... and I still thought it was a load of horse shit. Mind you, at the time I was reading a great deal of books like this hoping to glean some wisdom here and there. I got what I was looking for too. I am now wise enough to discard the genre entirely.

  • There's still next to no info on the guy online. I know someone who tried to "attract" car after reading the book a few years ago (and still doesn't have one). In that time I finished my studies, got a job and bought a car, no metaphysics required. I call it "working for what you want".

  • @EzeeKill2517 The guy said himself that the his name wasn't truly his name....

  • Has Bob Procter or whatever his name is has he done anything since this film?

  • Only Coughlan can make a "Bob Procter" video enjoyable to watch.

  • That guy is a fuckwit

I'm a pretty negative guy most of the time.

Apart from that my life is great, I have plenty of great things, good physical health, great friends, therefore that guy is fucking retarded because if he was correct I should have shit all.

  • @MrWafflesMonster good health, plenty of great things, great friends....but you are still pretty negative? This means you must be married.

  • @MrWafflesMonster

Pretty much same thing here. I am around 30, I am negative and cynical about the world far too often. With all negative thoughts and stupid things I've done I should have invited a disaster into my life by now. It's far from it though. I have some things in life I never imagined earlier, sure I don't have everything I want, but still it's more than I wanted. Sometimes I am unbelievably lucky in getting out of troubles I get myself into despite all negativity in me.

  • @MrWafflesMonster This is a huge contradiction. How are you a negative guy but think your life is great?

  • @tbeezy1 My point is that my negative thoughts towards myself do not attract outside negative influences as far as I can tell.

  • @MrWafflesMonster I completely agree.

I am an angry, depressed cynic. And yet, I have been 'blessed' with a financially stable life, very close friends, and a very good education thanks to good old College (which I can afford).

If this is all caused by being a cynic, looks like the secret to getting nice things is getting yourself a fine case of MDD.

  • Fucking hell I totally forgot this.

    This is hysterical.

  • Fir.....ptrrrh
