  • beautiful....i saw Grams years ago in Texas, shortly before his death...wonderful singer, a lovely legacy and great tribute...

  • So nicely put together. The words, the music, the vocal and harmony. Gram would be very happy with it.

  • Amazing Charlie. Dylan was always my guy, and I have discovered Gram too late. A wonderful tribute by you. Too bad we miss some real artists while speeding through this life. Thanks Charlie. Nice song and a great voice by you. Who is singing with you? She's great too. Thanks again.

  • Charlie, this is just lovely. Thank you for posting it. GP was so beautiful.

  • Wow, Charlie, that's a great song in its own right. Long live Gram.

  • Thank you so much! I wrote and recorded it about Gram about a year ago. I'm glad you liked it.

  • Gram has been my musical idol I first heard him sing "Hickory Wind" on the Byrds album in '68. You have honored his memory in a way that doesn't make me uneasy at all. Thank you.

  • Do you have any more video's/songs?

  • That's nice! Thankyou!

  • So good. Just beautiful. Thank you so much!

  • This is pretty good. Is this a cover of Gram Parson? I am only familiar with stuff from The Flying Burrito Brothers.

  • bitter sweet

  • This is a chillingly beautiful song..I am touched. I remember in 1973 when he died. I was living in L.A. Are the words and music posted anywhere on the web so I can learn it? Thanks Charlie you did "good."

  • Thanks Jerry! I'm jealous -- I didn't know about Gram's music until last year, but I'm trying to make up for lost time. If you send me a e-mail address I'll forward you the lyrics and chords.

  • I was in Baltimore that chilling day. There was only a short paragraph in The Balt Sun. After reading it, my coworker Pat & I cried. Because of the 2 of us, the whole plant we worked in were aware of Gram & the FBB's.

In fact, my boss on vacation to Ocean City agreed 2 purhcase specially made t-shirts. I requested 1 that read, "Flying Burrito Bros.". Still have it!

  • Great story! Thanks for checking out my tribute.

  • I s this a cover?

  • No. It's an original song of mine, written as a tribute to Gram with lots of little references to his life & career (Safe At Home, Fallen Angels, Grievous Angel, etc).

  • Good job on the song. You should post more.

  • Congratulations, sir. My hat's off to you. I miss the lad.

  • Beautiful tribute! I loved the line "sang with the angels / but he danced with the devil / and he died all alone." Loved the photo montage, too. Some of those pics I hadn't seen before.

  • Good tribute, lovely song. Poor Gram Parsons, it was like he was destined to die young.

  • A fine tribute to one of the all time great singer/songwriters,His music still lives on.His influence can still be felt to this day. Thanks for posting

  • wonderful tribute!

Thank you for sharing it with us. It`s one of my favourites now!! greatful greeting from Vene

  • well you sound great nice voice.. but the song may be kinda long...but you did a great job on the guitar and voice

    Andrew

  • Thank you!

  • thats skip batton on steel (pedal) guitar.. formerly one of the Notorious Byrd Bros..

  • Uh, not quite. That's me. Unfortunately I'd never played it before -- it's just a lap steel that I got on ebay -- and I haven't used it since. That's why the part is so simple -- it's all I could figure out! It's a home recording. I did all the guitars, bass, steel and percussion. Friends played the drums and keyboard.

  • What a great video! Thanks for Posting.Could you tell me who is playing steel guitar on this track?

  • This is really "Poignant" a true and beautyful Tribute,

one of the best i ever seen here ! No, we're not ready

to forget. What a GREAT work, so many things are shown

and said, all this in 4.20 minutes "Hats off!"
