Just an awesome contribute to the music of our time Thanks It's too bad we all have to loose the ones we love To everyone who has lost a loved one God Bless !!!!
wow this is a great tribute and definately a great song.better than anything i have heard on radio in a long time..i think it could get stuck in my head for awhile. thank you.
Amazing Charlie. Dylan was always my guy, and I have discovered Gram too late. A wonderful tribute by you. Too bad we miss some real artists while speeding through this life. Thanks Charlie. Nice song and a great voice by you. Who is singing with you? She's great too. Thanks again.
very impressive, charlie. very impressive. such a great song (it should be a single). a fitting tribute to a great artists. thanks for that. - frank -
Gram has been my musical idol I first heard him sing "Hickory Wind" on the Byrds album in '68. You have honored his memory in a way that doesn't make me uneasy at all. Thank you.
This is a chillingly beautiful song..I am touched. I remember in 1973 when he died. I was living in L.A. Are the words and music posted anywhere on the web so I can learn it? Thanks Charlie you did "good."
Thanks Jerry! I'm jealous -- I didn't know about Gram's music until last year, but I'm trying to make up for lost time. If you send me a e-mail address I'll forward you the lyrics and chords.
I was in Baltimore that chilling day. There was only a short paragraph in The Balt Sun. After reading it, my coworker Pat & I cried. Because of the 2 of us, the whole plant we worked in were aware of Gram & the FBB's.
In fact, my boss on vacation to Ocean City agreed 2 purhcase specially made t-shirts. I requested 1 that read, "Flying Burrito Bros.". Still have it!
No. It's an original song of mine, written as a tribute to Gram with lots of little references to his life & career (Safe At Home, Fallen Angels, Grievous Angel, etc).
Beautiful tribute! I loved the line "sang with the angels / but he danced with the devil / and he died all alone." Loved the photo montage, too. Some of those pics I hadn't seen before.
A fine tribute to one of the all time great singer/songwriters,His music still lives on.His influence can still be felt to this day. Thanks for posting
Uh, not quite. That's me. Unfortunately I'd never played it before -- it's just a lap steel that I got on ebay -- and I haven't used it since. That's why the part is so simple -- it's all I could figure out! It's a home recording. I did all the guitars, bass, steel and percussion. Friends played the drums and keyboard.
my thoughts and prayers are with you Hannah Brown if you see this... happy trails Gram where you are man... i'll be there before long... maybe i can buy you a beer when i get there. what kind do they have over there? thanks for the true meaning of cosmic, my friend.

So nicely put together. The words, the music, the vocal and harmony. Gram would be very happy with it.
