what you say from 1:39 to 2:10 is one of the most crucial lessons i've heard in a long time. to me, it is also the hardest lesson and it applies to every aspect of life, not only to drawing. i should print out what you said and stick it on the cover of my sketchbook.

I must have watched this video more than a hundred times partly because Gabor's artwork is so good but also because Davy's videos are so good. His videos are always chraming and engaging - perfect choice of music and pleasant commentary well timed with the artists' work. Davy is an artist in more ways than one.

He really is very good! I never thought that fear could be so palpable in art. Yet it finds conditions that feed it and perpetuate it. Amazing isn't it? Who would have known that something that appears as seemingly safe as drawing could be imbued with debilitating fear?
