  • I'm glad I stopped watching P.C. (doh!) a few years ago when he started showing his BNP-voting, daily mail green-ink-letter-writing, foaming at the mouth, steam from the ears credentials.

I subscribed to PC when he used to do aheism rants, but he quickly started to show his racism. Let's face it, most Muslims are brown, most Muslims aren't violent terrorists & PC hates them all regardless. The great thing about Muslims is you can find a white one & say "hey it's nothing to do with skin colour"

  • watch?v=WIpis8my_a8&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PL100BFB29AF06E698

    is this your town?

  • Oh, Kyle´s mom is here to ruin christmas!!!

    Eric Cartman.

  • Pat, The Christians have the Christ-Mass. The rest of the Holiday (Holy Day) is COMPLETELY PAGAN!

  • I like Pat. But this time he really missed it. I just can't believe a good Brit would not understand the First Amendment. I'm sure they have something like that over there. Oops, my bad they don't do they?.

    As Pat would say, "peace".

  • Hehe, only just got round to watching this, and i think our little ditty slots in rather nicely :-) Happy new year to you!

  • @dananddanfilms Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Happy New Year!

  • Re Pats point about xmas "not intruding" in the UK, I don't own a car and on xmas day and boxing day there are - No buses, no trains and virtually all shops and pubs are closed, in other words the country shuts down for 2 days. If this was caused by a strike the government would probably send the Army in.

  • Well, dialing was disappointing. It was characterized as a response to something but is just another flame. Zero worth.

This topic seems to have run its course. You guys are now mainlining the Kool-Aid and ignoring the fundamental questions, so I won't be back here.

As for criticizing religion, it deserves a LOT of that. Unfortunately one of the best critics, Christopher Hitchens, died recently. Public discourse at a much higher level than is available here is the worse for it. Ciao!

  • Pat reminded me of a chapter in 'The God Delusion' (which I just got by the way and I'm quite enjoying it) in which Dawkins talks about how religion is separated from every other belief in that criticizing it is a no-no. It's just rude and wrong... Pfft yeah right.

  • NONE OF YOU have yet to answer my simple question. We know why, and it's telling. Not a rational thought has zapped through your brain in years. And your ignorant arrogance is truly out of control. But it IS amusing. I haven't had this much fun in some time. You guys really aren't serious, are you? The things you state as facts are just weak opinions--and talk about ad hominems. Ah, well, go pop another brew while reading Roger Taney's biography. LOL.

  • @tramky By "simple" you mean "simple minded" right? Dialingfordonuts answered so its time for you to answer. You already know this but if you were honest you wouldn't be a Xian would you? I will however "pop another brew".

  • @CrossTheGrigori Luckily the science and records we have now are vastly better than those in the first millennium CE so it will be much harder to misinterpret our fiction in the future. In the last few decades we've stepped into an unprecedented age where people 10,000 years in the future will be able to sit back and watch almost anything that was going on any day in 2011. Digital files never degrade, and will rarely be lost. They won't wonder and speculate like we do now.

  • Oh, Claire posted another brilliant comment on here--shoo, troll shoo! Wonder how many Anchor Steams it took for her to squeeze that bit of brilliance out of her fingers on the keyboard. Well, it just gets better. As we are seeing, jokers like Claire don't take well to opposing views--they just want it all to go away so they can continue their arrogant ways among the lickspittles.

  • @tramky Hey if ya can't make a persuasive argument just accuse her of the heinous crime of drinking beer as if anyone could give a damn. She could be drinking moonshine from a still in her bathtub and you'd still be dead wrong. Of course if you understood simple logic then you wouldn't be a xian would you?

  • Pop another beer and try to focus. Let's try this again: what is it about 'free exercise' that you fail to understand? Don't yack about the courts and brewmeister Claire's stuporous disgorgements. Focus, focus. LOL. Speaking of that, Anchor Steam is really bad stuff, so Claire's taste in beer tends toward swill as well. Try, try again.

Is anyone actually listening to what Claire said in this video? Don't think so--you just think you did.

  • @tramky Yes... don't yack about what judges have to say about the Con. or the people who actually wrote it when you could listen to some anonymous lunatic whose best argument is "she drinks beer". We could make silly accusations about you as well but you're a Christian and there's really nothing we could could say that would make you seem like more of a dishonest 'tard... and besides, the facts are on her side so there's no need for lame character assassination.

  • Excellent pwnage of Condell's video, Claire!

  • Apparently the band of blatherers here are, in fact, unable to understand the words of the Constitution. Let's try this again.

The 'religion' clause of the First Amendment, when you parse out the arcane 18th-century syntax, would read like this:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.

Congress shall make no law prohibiting the free exercise of religion.

What is it about the term 'free exercise' that you twits (I'm being nice about this) fail to understand?

  • @tramky Are you still here? Shoo troll, shoo!

  • @tramky If they had someone who could re-phrase as clearly as you, I'm sure the USSC would smack their foreheads, dustbin the Lemon Test, and bellow "FREE EXERCISE!" at every establishment case that came before them.

Why don't you FedEx yourself to Washington and upend legal precedent? Your country needs you.

  • @tramky How many times are you going to post that before you actually read what you posted? Examine the views of the people who wrote the clause or look at court decisions pertaining to the clause and maybe you'll understand what it means. But, if you could shake your confirmation bias you wouldn't be a Xian would you?

  • @CrossTheGrigori The bible isn't even in the same league of the great works of fiction, it's like if you took the books my 14 year old nephew writes, copy them several times and then jumble the result up randomly. Oddly though, the bible's fans are more rapid even than Trekkies or Harry Potter fans.

  • I loled so hard at the Daily Mail clip. If you ever want a great laugh, look at the "sources" on one of Pat's videos.

  • Pat only believes in banning things that Muslims care about. Christianity, oddly enough, gets a free pass in his criticisms.

  • You 're both right. I am an European, my father grew up in the States. We've been arguing, and now I see that we Europeans aren't able to discuss what is going on in the States. We cannot fully empathise, mostly because of being rooted in a quite different way towards legislation on property, history and religion. So my arguments started with Pat Condell's, but as I grew into the discussion, I reali'z'ed the Ocean to be 'bridged' has become a little too deep.

  • Ah-ha! Good call Clair!

  • What happened? I used to admire Pat Condell. Did he take a nose dive or did I grow up?

  • @fedos I find that whenever he talks about anything related to America, he's makes a fool of himself.

  • I had to check it was Christmas and not April fools when I first watched Pat's video.

  • Claire; you just owned Pat Condell. His worst video; idk. IMO your best response video because you're completely correct and justified with your response. I wasn't even aware of his video but you definitely got this 100% right. I think Pat needs to go listen to some freethoughtradio shows or something because he is definitely showing his misunderstanding of the issues here.

  • Thank you. I only wish that Pat will watch this!

  • @tramky Sure thing, Chuckles. That means government should stay out of the goddamned religion business. Have nice day, and thanks for playing.

  • @tramky That sentence looks strangely familiar, but something doesn't seem right. Oh, yeah: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." (First Amendment to the United States Constitution) Does that make it easier to understand?

  • @MagneticPerturbation Thanks for pointing out the quote-mining. :)) I have no idea who that little shit stain is, but apparently I have gored his ox somewhat. Have a merry Christmas or holiday of choice!

  • @MagneticPerturbation It's trulyamazing that *tranky* would actually quote mine the US Constitution's 1st Amendment. How stupid does he/she think people are, using the internet to try & skew something openly available on the internet -- what a maroon! Happy Holidays to you.

  • @tramky Obvious troll is obvious.

  • @tramky Take Condell's dick out of your mouth.

  • Local Schools in this area don't have nativity scenes, not due to atheist objections, but that the Wee Free church say it's idolatry. About ten years back a teacher got the sack for her pupils creating a nativity scene due to church objections.

  • Pat must have been watching Fux News again! Why do woefully ignorant people deign to comment on something they know nothing about? Is is a genetic disturbance in the force that causes them to pontificate on subjects like this? Apparently so! Because they have no idea what the motivation behind this incident is, rather they would bloviate about the destruction of Western civilization! I am not amazed though at Pat's punditry, he makes Rushbo look tame when compared to others. Thanks Pat!

  • Pat is cherry picking religious encroachment. If it is Muslim, it is seemingly taking over, but if it is Christian oh that is our culturally accepted western religion and we atheists should not interfere with this power seeking institution.

  • I think he is funny in this so .. I forgive him.

  • You are simply amazing!!! I just love you!!! Funny, Smart--no Genius!

  • Wait a minute... Pat is yelling about Atheists and not Muslims? What the hell!? He's once again not investigated the matter properly so that's one part of him that will always remain I guess.

  • Pat has really lost it lately. Gotta cut him a bit of a break I guess, he's busy living with a Queen that heads his state's church. Poor guy, doesn't understand christian privilege or the first amendment, his feathers are still ruffled about his xian government giving up land to muslim sharia zones!

  • the thing is christmas dosnt have anything to do with christianity. they just say it does

  • Evidently Pat doesn't realize he is talking about a country where the Christians knock at your door at the wee hours of the morning to cram religion down your throat, yet if you complain you are intolerant. We see dozens of billboards for churches and that is fine, one atheist billboard and the shit hits the fan. Over %80 self identify as Christian, yet they are persecuted by the %15 that are self identified as atheist or non religious. Pat don't know squat about what he is talking about.

  • @tcsam9202 Yeah, especially since here it's like 55% atheist and the 70% of theists don't even practice their religion XD

  • I suppose, since he isn't American, that Pat's under no obligation to understand our Constitution. Still, it might be wise of him to study up on it a bit before babbling incoherently about it.

  • @OgreVI I actually had the decency to watch several hundreds of videos about the American constitution so that I could yell at theists when they make the "we're a christian nation, it's in the constitution" argument ^^

Pat evidently doesn't give a shit about it, which is funny because he claims that he does :P

  • Hah! Claire, I love the way you lit into him!!!

  • Pat Condell makes me want to eat my own ears off. First I'd have to dislocate my jaw though. It'd be worth it.

  • Nativity scenes are necessary. Local teenagers need something to deface.

  • Ah, Kevin Bloody Wilson! My kind of christmas music!

  • I wonder if Pat knows there are kinds of Christianity other than starchy, genteel CoE?

Down here it's loud, pushy, lo-rent. You get a face full of it from your city council, school board, grocery checkout, workmates, and every time the dumb as dryer lint ("gone fishin' to N_ggerhead") governor opens his mouth.

And every 5th failed Radio Shack becomes a church, because too many churches ain't possible.

Pat wouldn't last a week in Texas before his beloved churchbells drove him postal.

  • I once subscribed to Pat's channel a long time ago as he served to make me feel better about myself when I felt down. The batshit craziness of him and his fans got too much though so I can't even bear to hear his voice. He's got that sort of face you'd never get tired of slapping.

  • I agree with Claire. I think Pat lacks the perspective being in another country/culture.

  • So, we should be fine with this because it is "part of our heritage"... Where does this leave us on the okayness of having the ten commandments displayed on government property? It is "part of our heritage" even if English common law seems to have a greater impact on our legal systems. There are other less savory things that are "part of our heritage" as well, but I doubt he'd suggest displaying them on gov property would be peachy.

  • Yeah, he seemed to totally miss the important part of the complaint. eric idle. HAHAH

  • Although I really don't get all hot and bothered about Nativity scenes and such because they're bigger fish to fry IMO, you really did nail Pat on the facts of the matter

  • Pat Condell is from the UK, we don't have the problem of secularism vs. theocracy because the vast majority of us don't really give a fuck. As a Scot I see where Pat is coming from, it seems like a petty gripe to demand a nativity scene removed but he is a senior English man with an upper lip so stiff it could be starched, it's just the way Britain is which is sad. I do support the atheists in Texas in what they're doing but they shouldn't have to do it.

  • @SeanathenII As someone else pointed out, Pat is used to the ever so genteel Church of England. He can have no idea of over-bearing, in-your-face, low-rent southern American fundamentalism. One hears it constantly from the television, from co-workers, and from local and state government. Pat wouldn't last a week in Texas before he tried to eat a gun or take the gas pipe.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 I know. Pat also suffers from "Old Englishman Syndrome", a variation of which afflicts both my father and grandfather called "Old Scotsman Syndrome" where they have the compulsion to ramble and rant about anything which even slightly perturbs them. I personally find him entertaining because he talks about matters relevant to me in Britain such as the illegal immigrants and over population of benefit thieves and call fr Sharia law, hate clerics, BNP etc. etc.

  • Is it bad that I find myself not giving a shit if the nativity scene is on government property? Am I bad at being an atheist if I don't care that local governments endorse Christianity?

  • @Tr3xKuro Can't say about the atheist bit, but you're a lousy American.

  • @Tr3xKuro I would agree that the nativity scene is just symbolism and many people get much too work up over that but when they leave out theories in science class that do not agree with interpretation of dogma and try to get creation taught as science, I have a big problem with that. Looks to me like FOX News is pushing the "war on Christmas" stories more than most people care about.

  • @Tr3xKuro Replace the religion and insert something racist for example. Would you care about that? It's the same thing basically. The government is discriminating in both ways. Yes, one isn't as bad as the other but it's still there, and it really has very little to do with atheism since it's just as offensive to every other religion in the world as well.

  • @Tr3xKuro - If you were Jewish, Muslim, Bahai, or any other religion, you would find plenty of reason to object that your government was putting christian lawn ornaments on their property.

  • You probably hear this often enough, but just so you know, you're awesome :o)

  • Comment removed

  • I find Pat Condell... spooky.

  • Pat is wrong on this one. If Pat was simply saying that atheist ought to pick their battles more carefully then he might have a point. But Pat is either ignorant of the issue and spouting off anyway, or Pat is okay with local governments endorsing religious positions. So because it is Christmas I say let's give a Pat a pass on this and blame it on the Christmas punch.

  • I wonder if Pat understands that there are very real political, cultural, and demographic differences between the US and the UK? Like, the fact that atheism is not very well tolerated here because we have a relatively large population of intolerant born-agains who delight in claiming to be persecuted by the minority. What he and the Daily Mail refuse to consider is that they really understand very little of the situation.

  • @deriamis I think you nailed it.

  • Good old Pat is slowly losing it... Cheers!

  • @KaroKoenich So true!

    Cheers!

  • @KaroKoenich Incipient stage of dementia, I'd say.

  • That IS my reply.

  • Well done!!!

  • Pat Condell is what happens when atheism meets a right wing little englander union jack undies wearing daily mail reading ex catholic.

  • I really like Pat Condel, but one thing I don't like is the fact that he very rarely answers criticism and this criticism is valid and I put a comment on his video a couple days ago saying the same thing as did hundreds of others. It's the violation of church and state that is the issue here, not the nativity scene. None of this stuff belongs on public property, especially at a building you need to go to, to conduct official state or county business.

  • Claire Claire Claire Claire Claire! You are completely right. Pat Pat Pat Pat Pat! You are also completely right. Therefore I must have made a mistake. Yes, of course. Logically, I am in error. But! Now I wonder who first said BUT? Yes, "BUT" is a part of MY CULTURAL inheritance. Just as, as in England, decorating Town Hall is not unconstitutional. So this dispute, or storm in a tea cup, reflects the LAWS and CONSTITUTION of the relevant country. Our Sydney Mayor was forced to add Xmas tinsel!

  • Yes, because my neighbor who moved here from Kenya is totally represented by Western Culture! I actually passed a beautiful Nativity the other day and rather enjoyed it - it was displayed appropriately by a Church on their own property.

  • Feels so good to live in secular country, where we trow empty beer cans at religilous tards, or water them with gardening hoses when they happen to pass by to peddle some faith. But how is America treating you, atheists?

  • I haven't seen any of Pat's videos for a while now, and I'm honestly surprised how much his rhetoric has changed. He doesn't sound much different from a mantra-chanter.

  • While I like Pat and agree with much of what he says, you made some very legitimate points here. I think this may have been Pat's way of saying 'pick your battles'

  • @julzabro I think it was Pat's way of being a misinformed dick.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 Wellll, u may be right! ;)

  • Of course to Pat's fan club the militant atheists in question are those who will become communists and fascists bent on totalitarian world domination.

  • @deepashtray It IS odd how Pat so often chooses to paint those who do not agree with him as militant, pseudo-intellectual lefties determined to bugger the "culture" that he holds dear. Given Pat's obsessions, I am surprised he didn't stoop to claiming that the Texas atheists were linked to radical Islam in some conspiratorial fashion.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 I understand Sharia Law poses a serious hurdle to the cession of Texas.

  • @DarklingX

One thing I should add: Sure, we can all make mistakes. What will be a measure of Pat's intellectual honesty is whether or not he will now admit fault and correct himself.

  • There are always bigger issues to tackle. That doesn't justify complete inaction concerning the smaller issues, especially not when they almost don't conflict in time or effort one bit.

"No sense in scratching my nose when there are kids starving in Africa!"

  • Condell has put a whole new dimension of irony into his Chris Crocker plea that "militant atheists" should, "Leave Christmas Alone!!!"

Isn't this the same guy that whines and whinges about Muslims in a significantly Muslim community wanting to put up a community center the equivalent the YMCA... in their community... on private property?

  • @DeathofSpeech Precisely. By the way, I was just informed that a placard placed on the Texas site by the Freedom from Religion Foundation was taken down by the County, so apparently "equal protection under the law" is a belly laugh down there.

  • I always thought Pat Condell was a stand-up comedian.

Pat must surely know The Mail, in the UK, is widely used by comedians as the epitome of terrible, biased and bigoted distortion of news.

Is he supposed to be taken seriously?

    I thought not.

Why do you and others think he should be?

Is a comedy sketch worthy of rational dissection?

    Has everyone been Poed?

  • @fidgaf

Pat insists he's a comedian. I honestly don't think he understands the term. None of his videos contain the slightest bit of humour.

  • Would Pat accept Parliament displaying Crescent Moons and Stars for Ramadan?

  • @mjh012363

It would be fun to find out... especially if he could see it from his house.

  • Am I the only one that hates being lumped in with British (and their culture) whenever it's convenient?

  • @Craydon

That depends, where are you from?

Personally I live in the North East of England and I much prefer to be identified as British than English... considering little englanders such as Condell soil the English national image.

  • @AnonEyeMouse I'm (primarily)African-American. Nuff said?

  • @Craydon 'Nuff said?'

Not really... which crazy folk are lumping you in with us? I know it sometimes happens the other way around and we get lumped in with Americans, but I've never seen it the other way around.

  • Couldn't agree more, Claire.

  • From one atheist to some others. Get the hell over yourselves. You give atheism a bad name! Leave Christmas alone.

  • @MyXxx77 Did you even watch the video?

  • @MyXxx77 It is generally a good idea to watch a video before attempting to provide insight upon it.

  • Please, please, please!!! Find an excuse to call someone sugar britches in every one of your videos :)

  • I don't often watch a clip twice, but that was class - slam-dunk - great stuff Claire!

  • Thank-you Claire - you made my Christmas Eve - :-)

Taken at face value his rant was gving too much legitimacy to those he was railing against, but now you have *illuminated us* it's obvious why it sounded so empty.

I think Pat is a bit like a star - he shone brightly while he was funny, but now he seems to have ran out of fuel and is spewing heavy (toxic) elements.

  • Claire, you crack me up. Happy Chrolstice!

  • What's with this misuse of the word sinister, it's greek for left and is often used to describe a left handed person. So what's wrong with being sinister.

  • @JamesThWilliams Obviously, it has another meaning as well.

  • @JamesThWilliams

Because the Christians used to believe (and I've met a few who still do) that being a 'cack-hander' was a sign that you were in league with Satan. Something about your right hand being constantly in the hand of Satan's or some such. So the latin for left sinister became a slur against lefties like myself.

Frankly, given the fact I'm a south-paw, I have birthmarks and a few other coincidences, I'm relieved to have been born after witch burnings were stopped.

  • I tried arguing with some of the people commenting on Condell's video. I eventually gave up because I ended up repeating myself too much.

  • Ohmyme a double-down sugarbritches!? It's almost too much to ask for! What a lovely Christmas present!

I don't know if you read the daily mail article, but it's worse than just letting the religious hawk their nonsensical fables on public property, the county actually took down a Freedom from Religion Foundation placard placed nearby. They are endorsing a particular religious viewpoint at the expense of all others.

They couldn't be more obviously in violation of the 1st Amendment.

  • @CBlargh Wish I had known that prior to making the video.

  • @WildwoodClaire1

It makes you wonder if Pat really believes what he says, or if he's just found a nice incendiary niche that draws ad revenue...

  • Wait what? Did Pat just wag his finger at "militant atheists"? That sounds a little pot and kettle if you ask me.

I don't regularly follow Pat, but I know he dislikes..

    Muslims

    Christians

    The lower class

    American Atheists

American secular theists too (there is a fair number that don't want to be a Theocracy no more than we do)

My question is. Is there a group Pat isn't going to Troll at? Or is he enough of an attention whore he's willing to use anyone as Troll bait?

  • @xdassinx 'Is there a group Pat isn't going to Troll at?'

The far right. Anyone pushing the white-genocide bullshit. Pat is a little englander. Imagine you cut the balls off and broke the spine of a member of the KKK then let them live out their days in Hobbiton of the Shire.

Essentially he is just a hateful right wing xenophobe that likes to regurgitate Murdoch press and Daily Mail drivel over and over again.

  • And who is paying for it.

  • Well said.

  • Anyway, thank you, and good work dissecting Pat's rant.. I respect the guy and like his videos at times, but he's just soo damn wrong on this one.

  • Had a good debate with his supporters.. they seem to just take this man's word and don't take a few minutes to think by themselves. :/

  • Sweet zombie Jesus, but Pat is a whinging little fucktard.

  • Poor Pat's twisted his own nickers for no good reason. One might think, in a moment of terrible cynicism, that he puts on these shows of impassioned outrage as an engine in some sort of Youtube related popularity contest. Does he, do you think, practice that furrowed brow in the mirror, and that biting tone of his on hapless waiters?

  • I'd just like to know if our friend Pat is hearing all this loud and clear.

  • pat is going patshitting

  • I don't think, as an atheist, that it is a problem to have a nativity scene on governmental property, as long as the government isn't paying for it, and also as long as every other religion that wants to be represented can be...

  • I don't follow Pat Condell, mainly because the videos I've seen from him turn me off, even as an atheist. Frankly, I just don't enjoy his style. I'll admit, though, that if he thinks all American atheists are against Christmas displays, even in Texas, he's sorely mistaken, as you've well pointed out. What makes political candidates like Rick Perry so scary is not that he's so religious. It's that he would readily use his faith to inform his policies that's so bone-chilling. Church=/=State

  • It's like he started bitching before he even finished reading up on the story.

  • awesome video as usual, Claire!!

  • Merry Christmas!

  • 1:44-227 was golden. Lol. :)

  • I guess Pat only gets exercised if such religious displays are erected in public locations by religious minorities, especially if these happen to involve the recitations of a certain mr. Mo. I personally couldn't give a toss what religious person decides to express their beliefs, whether it is in public or in private, and whether it is or isn't on "government property", as long as I'm not asked to fork out and finance such displays of religiosity through the taxes I pay.

  • Everyone makes mistakes. Pat Condell made this video with no idea of how the U.S.A. works.

Just like TheYoungTurks made a video bitching about the Cloud building in Korea, when they literally have no right to.

    Good video ma'm!

Though tell me, I heard rumors that Mr. Condell is racist towards arab folk like myself. Is that true?

  • @saiyanmage I don't know. I've heard that as well.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 Well, nothing beats the good old fashioned way.

Ask bluntly and see what happens.

  • @WildwoodClaire1

Hm.. Maybe I don't need to.

    He's mixing Islam with Arab.

    Oh well.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 Haven't you heard of leitkultur? Whether or not elements which have their memetic roots in a particular religion exist in the predominant culture, it is important to "standardize" that predominant culture (and whatever religious cultural artifacts might be in it) so as to keep everyone "running the same program" so to speak.

Religious artifacts in culture =/= religion.

  • @saiyanmage I can't say that he's not anti-arab, but I would like to point out that a LOT of people confuse anti-Isalm to into anti-arab.

  • @saiyanmage "Though tell me, I heard rumors that Mr. Condell is racist towards arab folk like myself. Is that true?"

No just anyone lacking European origins. (Which is everyone ironically except Neanderthals).

  • @saiyanmage

'Pat Condell made this video with no idea of how the U.S.A. works.'

Don't bet on it. Anyone who spends anytime involved in Atheist circles on YouTube will have that particular detail of the constitution made clear to them in next to no time.

'I heard rumors that Mr. Condell is racist towards arab folk like myself. Is that true?'

As someone who used to watch his videos and unsubbed because of that very fact, I'd say yes. But go watch some of his videos and see.

  • Well, I must admit that I do enjoy Pat Condell's videos, but this particular video of Claire's is the perfect example of why she makes my favorite videos. Pat's videos are a finely articulated commentary with interesting viewpoints, but Claire's is all that with an education. Happy Holidays from Nashville, Tennessee!

  • Pat Condell starts to sound like a closet Christian. Love the musical offerings in this one.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 ....you just have such a knack for hitting the nail on the head, and expressing yourself clearly, and logically. Love your vids and really appreciate what you do. Thanks!

  • Can't believe I was a fan of this douchebag! Thanks Claire! Good to see other atheists responses to his nonsense.

  • So , if Muslims built a banner with the word "Allah" on it , Pat would be equally tolerant or uninterested whether it was constitutional or not ?

  • However if it had been an islamic display this guy would have been all over it the stupid idiot

  • I really see no reason for the entire hullabaloo over the winter solstice myself. For living near the equator, I only notice a ever so slight sloshing as the earth rocks back and forth. However the gods that bring the wet and dry seasons, those are gods with real impact. They also are deaf, for no mater how much we pray or beg at their alters or make sacrifices to them, the wet and dry season come when they come and go when they go

  • The murder of Jamie Duggan in east London by dirty police officers is what started the riots off in the U.K. They said he was holding a gun and pointing it towards them..An investigation eventually got underway. And suprise suprise (like hell) he was not carrying nothing but a pack of rizla and cigarettes.

  • Nice one, this idiot makes me ashamed to be British. You should of heard his views on the riots we had in the UK earlier this year, he thinks the young boy who was killed from Tottenham in London was sporting a pistol!! If only he knew the true story. I feel sorry for people who get there info off sky news.

  • @Escuelavieja100 Isn't Sky News owned by the same fascist jackass as Fox News (Noise) in America?

  • @WildwoodClaire1 We think it is now :(. They want to have a European version of fox news so flying spaghetti monster help us!

  • @WildwoodClaire1 Kinda. Their parent company is indeed, News Corporation, whose CEO is James Murdoch. The owner of Fox News is one Roger Ailes.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 Rupert Fascist Fuckpot Murdoch? Yeah, he owns it.

  • @WildwoodClaire1 "..same facist jackass as Fox.."

yes, the same ones embroiled in the phone hacking scandal in britain, the Murdochs.

btw, i do know people who qoute that british rag, the mail, as if it's stories are 'gospel'. it's the british equivalent of your fox news.

  • Nice job, this is exactly what I was thinking when I watched Pat's video yesterday. He's totally using a strawman argument and getting beet-red angry over it too. It's not about fanatical militant atheist nazism or whatever other jargon he wants to use in his tirade, it's about the fact that the government is using tax-payer funding (from people of all beliefs and non-beliefs) to endorse just one religion, which is arrogant and unconstitutional, that's all.

  • Claire,

Up until this last video I have been in agreement with almost all of Pat's opinions. I was very surprised to see him miss the point entirely in this video.

Just as a realtor might say...location,location, location.

  • I gotta agree with Claire 100% on this one. First and foremost is the rule of law of the republic. Without that you get groups of individuals that are all self-serving and just trying to get through the next election.

Democracy is just two wolf and a sheep voting on what to eat for supper.

But then again pirates signed a constitution when joining a crew so who knows.

  • you make valid points. and i really don't like the idea of tax funded religious celebrations. but when you consider that it was Christians that conceded, compromised and changed the date of their celebration of their saviors birth, to coincide with that of well established secular (and non secular) celebrations of winter/summer solstice, i don't think it is unreasonable to consider Christmas, and many of its decorations, as a secular celebration.

  • This illustrates precisely where I got of on the wrong foot with regards this issue,

being quite in support of Mr Condel initially / but then realising the actual deployment of the nativity scene etc.

He just seems so well prepared in his vid's & I guess with regret I get a bit duped by that.

& then as is the case now I find myself somewhat shocked at his lack of research before flapping his gum's ( as I undoubtedly do with some of my own responses )

    Hope this isn't another example!

  • What is the song at the very end?

  • @whiteowl1415 "Fuck Christmas," by Eric Idle.
