Guan Yu recieved the name in later generations as a sort of veneration for his achievements, just as Alexander of Macedon became "Alexander the Great" later. Also it is not uncommon for people in ancient China to adopt multiple names to reflect their stage in life: a name for childhood, a name for scholarly pursuits, a name for politics. in china dynasty "san guo" they actually have two name for each person, Guan Yu is his real name, and then he got another name we consider nickname is Guan Yun Chang.. we call him Guan Gong is bcz, the word "Gong" means something like father bcz we pray for him.. jz like we pray him as our god dat even i got his statue in my house dat we pray for that.. so as respect we call him Guan Gong, but not Guan Yu..

I won't argue with you, but in my point of view, this Guan Yu looks way better. The others look too old or too skinny, and you get my point. This was the first time I've ever seen a Guan Yu that looks more like the real hero :).

I love this song! Guan Gong is a HERO! My favorite character his is daughter Jie, and my others are Guan Ping, Zhou Can. They're just plain funny. Also, the best is Zhang Fei! He's so cute when he cries, and he's so rash!
